During the voyage to the exam, he was overwhelmed by the storm and could barely remain standing while Gon rescued stranded examinees 2. He nevertheless acted without hesitation when crewman Katz was blown overboard, grabbing Gon's ankle as Gon held Katz; Kurapika joined the chain, and Saitama ultimately pulled all four back to safety 3.
