Next Time, Don't Do This Again

Only after Feitan killed the man did Luo Ye finally breathe a sigh of relief. He and Rasa had become sworn enemies; either Rasa died, or they did. Only Rasa's death could truly put him at ease.

Once he relaxed, the exhaustion from his taut nerves and overexertion surged over him. Luo Ye swayed and toppled to one side, only vaguely seeing Feitan running toward him in a panic.

Feitan sat beside his bed. When he saw him wake up, delight first flashed across his face before turning into irritation. "If you're not well, don't force yourself. That assassin brat and I were both there. It wasn't your turn to risk your life!"

Heaven knew how panicked and terrified he had been the instant he saw Yezi collapse. He had been so afraid that once Yezi fell, he would never wake up again.

Even though he clearly knew that people from Meteor City died easily, that was Yezi, who had lived with him for so long. How could he accept that?

Fortunately, the attack had missed his heart and only wounded his shoulder. Yezi had merely collapsed from exhaustion rather than died. Otherwise, Feitan did not know how mad he would have gone.

"Aren't I fine?" Luo Ye gave him a reassuring smile. "Besides, we're companions. How could I let you fight for your lives while I hid behind you?"

He was not some parasitic flower dependent on others. Otherwise, he would not have trained diligently every day to strengthen himself.

What was more, in Meteor City, where no one knew if they would survive the next day, he had to possess enough strength to protect himself.

Placing his hopes in others was the stupidest thing one could do. No matter how strong someone else was, they could not stay by his side every moment.

Although he knew Luo Ye was right, Feitan still could not help reminding him, "You nearly scared me to death. Don't do this again next time."

Yezi had ended up like this today because Feitan was not strong enough and had been trapped by Rasa's spatial passage. Once Yezi had settled down a little, he would go find Illumi.

He would make him fulfill his promise and teach him Nen. Only by becoming stronger could he protect Yezi.

Luo Ye nodded. "I know. It was just that all of you were trapped, so I had no choice but to step in."

His collapse had actually been caused by several factors piling together: the strain on his mind, the injuries on his body, and the massive expenditure of spiritual power.
