"It's almost time."

Tang San glanced at the sky and thought to himself.

This time, he intends to steal back the Tang Sect Secret Arts from Jiang Lan's room once again.

This time, he will definitely not be hit by those Hidden Weapon.

Tang San stood in the shadows outside the back wall of the Blue Tyrant Academy, having changed into a set of night clothes.

To avoid being exposed, he specially dug out a set of black tight-fitting clothes from the bottom of his trunk, tied the cuffs and trouser legs tightly with cloth strips, and even covered his face with a black cloth, only revealing a pair of eyes that were slightly purple in the night.

"I was careless last time." Tang San adjusted his breathing in the darkness, suppressing all distracting thoughts little by little. "With the experience from last time, I definitely won't fail this time."

He said that, but his buttocks throbbed with a dull ache, as if silently reminding him that the room was far from as harmless as it seemed.

As night deepened, the shops along Vermilion Bird Street closed one after another, with only a dim yellow lantern still lit in the backyard of Honey Snow Ice City.

Jiang Lan and Doro had already returned to their room, and Dugu Yan and Ye Lingling had also returned to their residence at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy.

Wait, yes, we need to make sure Jiang Lan is fast asleep first.

Tang San clung to the wall like a gecko, waiting for almost half an hour until the lantern in the courtyard went out, before silently vaulting into the courtyard.

He avoided the automated patrolling robots in the lobby and didn't touch any of the hinges or mechanisms that would make a sound, stealthily making his way through the area.

Jiang Lan's window remained half-closed, with the night breeze occasionally stirring the curtains and making a very soft rustling sound.

Tang San stood outside the window, not in a hurry to climb in.

He first scanned the room to make sure that Jiang Lan and Doro were both fast asleep, breathing evenly and relaxed.

Then Tang San reached out, his fingertips gripping the windowsill, and he tumbled into the room like a leaf blown by the wind.

Having learned from his previous experience, Tang San became more cautious; he didn't want to go through that again.

The wooden cabinet was still in its original position, with the door ajar.

Tang San breathed a sigh of relief, tiptoed over, placed his fingers on the cabinet door, and slowly opened it a crack.

Inside was a stack of books, their covers reflecting the moonlight, through which a few words could be vaguely made out.

Tang San held his breath, pulled out the top book, and turned it over to read.

The cover reads "Nine Yang Manual".

His heart skipped a beat, as if it had been struck hard by something.

Nine Yang Manual!

It's actually the Nine Yang Manual!

He was publicly rejected by his teacher and thought he would never have the chance to see the Nine Yang Manual!

Tang San's hands trembled slightly, and he stuffed the book into his arms almost without hesitation.

This is the Tang Sect Secret Arts, that's right!

Just as the book left the cabinet, he heard a very faint click from under his feet.

Tang San froze.

Tang San froze.

He slowly lowered his head and saw that a thin, almost transparent piece of iron had appeared at his feet.

The metal piece was originally embedded in the gap between two floor tiles, and he stepped on it while leaning forward to pull out the book.

Something fell from above.

Tang San looked up sharply and saw a fine metal net hanging in the air. He reacted quickly, and with a light touch of his toes, he tried to leap out from under the net.

Suddenly, four dark things popped out from under the bed. They weren't silver needles, but four fist-sized Iron Spider. Their six legs moved rapidly, and they spat out sticky white silk threads from their mouths, wrapping them around his ankles.

Immediately afterwards, the metal box on the windowsill was opened, and a cloud of orange powder shot out, spraying it right in his face.

Tang San's pupils contracted sharply in the darkness, his body reacted before his mind, and he rolled violently to the side.

The orange powder grazed his shoulder and sprayed past, not hitting his face, but splashing into his eyes.

A sharp, tangy, and Ju Zi sensation exploded within me, and tears welled up uncontrollably, blurring my vision.

He didn't bother wiping himself, and tried to spring up by bracing himself with his left hand, but the four Iron Spider had already wrapped around his left foot. The white silk threads were sticky and tough, and the more he struggled, the tighter they became, like stepping on dozens of layers of cotton soaked in glue.

He raised his right hand to pull it off, and as soon as he touched the clump of white silk, his fingertips felt a burning, tingling sensation.

Poison!

The silk thread is poisonous!

"Damn it!" Tang San cursed under his breath. Risking getting entangled in the silk threads, he gritted his teeth and pushed off the ground, his left leg carrying three Iron Spider with it.

The three Iron Spider clung to his legs, their six thin legs tightly gripping his trouser cuffs, and they continued to spray silk from their mouths.

Just then, Jiang Lan rolled over on the bed, mumbling incoherently, "Little Guga... another bowl..."

Doro rolled half a circle, slapping Jiang Lan's face with his little hand. The two continued to sleep soundly, completely unaware that the room had become a complete mess.

Tang San took the opportunity to pick up the Nine Yang Manual that had fallen to the ground.

As he bent down, another silver needle, as thin as a hair, sprang out from under the bed. The needle's tip emitted a strange blue light, and it moved so fast that it was almost invisible.

Tang San's ears twitched, and at the last second, he turned his head to dodge. The silver needle grazed his earlobe and embedded itself in the wooden cabinet behind him, its tail vibrating and buzzing.

Before he could even catch his breath, his foot slipped. The entire paving stone silently sank in, revealing a half-meter-wide flap.

Tang San was falling, but fortunately he reacted quickly and pressed his right hand against the edge of the pit, managing to support himself, with half of his body hanging in the pit.

He looked down and saw that the bottom of the pit was neatly covered with small, upward-facing caltrops, each coated with a colorful liquid, the colors even more vibrant than the sugar paintings in restaurants.

Tang San's back was covered in a layer of cold sweat.

If he hadn't practiced the Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and if Tang Sect disciples hadn't had an instinctive reaction to traps Hidden Weapon, he would have been severely injured, if not killed.

He endured the numbness and itching in his left leg and the stinging pain in his right hand, climbed out of the pit, and stumbled toward the viewing window.

He ultimately didn't pick up the Nine Yang Manual. The book lay quietly on the ground, its cover stained with the tears that had welled up in his eyes and the cold sweat that had rolled down his forehead.

Tang San lunged to the window, and just as one foot touched the windowsill, there was another whooshing sound behind him.

He dared not look back, and jumped down from the windowsill, twisting his body halfway in mid-air to barely avoid the three flying needles that came after him, before staggering and landing in the courtyard.

The three Iron Spider were still hanging on his left leg. He shook them a few times before they fell to the ground, tumbled over, crawled a few steps toward him, and finally stopped. Their red eyelights flashed twice, and they retreated back into the grass.

Tang San ran desperately into the alley, the night wind whipping against his soaked clothes, making them feel cold and sticky.

My eyes are incredibly sore, my left leg is numb from my ankle to my knee, and the back of my right hand is swollen like a bun.

He dared not look back, nor stop, and ran until he reached a dark alley two streets away from Honey Snow Ice City, where he slid down against the wall, ripped off the black mask covering his face, and gasped for breath.
