Background

In his previous life, Tang San was an outer-sect disciple of the Tang Sect. Barred from its inner teachings, he secretly studied its ultimate arts and ultimately died after leaping from a cliff. His desire to obtain the Tang Sect’s complete inheritance remains central to his identity after reincarnation. 89

In Douluo Continent, he becomes a member of the Shrek Seven Monsters and studies under Yu Xiaogang. He considers Xiao Wu his little sister and is fiercely protective of her, immediately rushing into the Star Dou Great Forest when he believes she may be in danger. 59 74

Tang San participates in Shrek Academy’s seven-on-seven match against Heaven Dou Royal Academy. Dugu Yan destroys his Entangling Blue Silver Grass with poison, while Ye Lingling’s unfamiliar palm arts divert his attention and help secure Shrek’s total defeat. 75 76

After the loss, he becomes fixated on Ye Lingling’s techniques, which resemble the Falling Blossoms Sword Technique from his former world. He privately theorizes that her master may be another transmigrator with martial attainments beyond his own. 77
