Yue Guan's Cracked Composure
The battle situation has become one-sided.
Those thousands of men in black looked formidable, but when they actually ran into Jiang Lan and his group, they were like beans being crushed layer by layer in Shi Mo.
The Royal Knights had initially planned to fight to the death, but as the battle progressed, they discovered that the other participants were even stronger than them, and they all swarmed around them to pick off their opponents.
Finally, under Jiang Lan's overwhelming force, many of the men in black were captured alive.
The captain of the knights approached Jiang Lan and thanked him, saying, "Thank you so much, young man. If it weren't for you, something terrible would have happened."
Jiang Lan waved her hand and said, "It's no trouble at all. You guys go and see the men in black."
Upon hearing this, the captain of the knights clasped his hands in a fist salute to Jiang Lan, his face still pale with the aftermath of a near-death experience. He turned and waved his hand, leading his knights to surround the black-clad men lying on the ground groaning incessantly, swiftly binding up all those still alive.
The participating team members from various colleges gradually gathered around, their eyes filled with admiration and awe as they looked at Jiang Lan.
Several members of the Godwind Academy whispered among themselves, saying that such Little Monster had emerged from the Heaven Dou Division, and that he would surely dominate the finals in Spirit City.
Shui Yue'er ran to Jiang Lan's side, scooped him up from the ground and pulled him into her arms. She was both scared and proud, and her eyes were slightly red. "You little rascal, if you rush in without even saying hello again next time, I'll tie you to my belt!"
"I'm fine." Jiang Lan shifted in her arms, his armor retracting back into his body, transforming him back into the soft, cuddly little Penguin Suit.
Shui Bing'er followed behind, and seeing that Jiang Lan was unharmed, she sighed softly, "Thanks to you this time, but these people's arrival was too suspicious. We're not far from Spirit City, and ordinary bandits wouldn't dare to attack the Royal Knights."
Everyone knows in their hearts that with so many people, including quite a few Soul Master, there's only one possibility.
Chrysanthemum Douluo Hei and Ghost Douluo, who were secretly watching all of this, were utterly shocked.
They were both very surprised when Jiang Lan appeared.
A child who looked to be around 6 years old was actually participating in the competition team and overwhelming the men in black with his superior strength.
To reach level 40+ at around age 6 and crush so many others—truly a genius among geniuses.
Ghost Douluo said in a low voice, "Let's go, let's go back and report this to His Holiness the Pope."
Chrysanthemum Douluo's effeminate face flickered in and out of focus amidst the shadows of the trees, her slender eyes still fixed on the procession of carriages and horses regrouping below the mountain.
Yue Guan gently snapped off a thin twig lying across his face, his voice light yet carrying a rare hint of gravity. "This child is even more outrageous than the Golden Generation."
"Soul Ancestor at just over six years old, absolutely unique." Ghost Douluo's voice drifted from the shadows, hoarse like withered leaves rubbing against a stone wall, "Moreover, the aura he exuded just now was not something an ordinary Martial Soul could possess. That golden light, and that halberd, made me feel very uncomfortable."
The two exchanged a glance, both seeing the same meaning in each other's eyes.
This matter must be reported to the Pope as soon as possible.
They had just turned around when a soft, sweet voice suddenly came from behind them.
"You two, it's very impolite of you to hide in a tree and watch kids fight in the middle of the night."
Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo both froze.
They turned around abruptly and saw a small figure dressed in Penguin Suit on a protruding rock beside the mountain path.
Jiang Lan sat cross-legged on top of the rock, tilting her head to look at them, holding Doro in her arms and with half a piece of Ju Zi candy in her mouth, looking just like a well-behaved baby who came out to see the stars.
But both Yue Guan and the Gui Mei's pupils shrank to pinpoints at the same time.
Despite their Titled Douluo- level perception, not one of them noticed when the child had approached.
"Little friend, when did you get up here?" Chrysanthemum Douluo was the first to recover.
"Just now, when you were talking about the six-year-old Soul Ancestor, I was sitting right here." Jiang Lan swallowed the Ju Zi candy, licked her lips, and said, "You guys hid pretty well. If Doro hadn't said there were two people watching the show in the tree, I wouldn't have noticed."
Doro nestled in Jiang Lan's arms, her big purple eyes wide open. She waved her little hands at Yue Guan and Gui Mei, letting out two soft, sweet "dorodoro" sounds.
The gist of it is: Your sneaky behavior is too obvious.
Ghost Douluo's eyes turned completely cold.
He stepped forward, shielding Chrysanthemum Douluo behind him, and a chilling, tangible killing intent silently spread out.
He couldn't fathom the child's true nature, but the fact that the other person could get close so silently already spoke volumes.
"Old Ghost, don't make that sour face, it'll scare the kids." Chrysanthemum Douluo patted Ghost Douluo's shoulder with a smile, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. "We're just passing by. But since you're here, why don't you come with us? His Holiness the Pope loves talented children the most, it would be such a waste for someone with your talent to stay in the Heaven Dou Empire."
Jiang Lan tilted her head, looked Yue Guan up and down, then glanced at Ghost Douluo, and said very seriously, "Uncle, your voice is so shrill, and your face is so pale, like one of those wolf in sheep's clothing stories who kidnaps children. I'm not going with you."
Yue Guan's smile visibly froze for a moment. The Ghost Douluo behind him let out a short, strange sound, as if he had choked on his saliva, before quickly returning to normal, as if nothing had happened.
"Little friend, who are you calling 'uncle'?" Yue Guan leaned forward, a smile on her face, which was even more delicate than a woman's, but the chill in her voice was barely concealed. "Do I look that old?"
"Yes." Jiang Lan nodded without hesitation, and even stretched out her little hand to show, "You have fine lines around your eyes, but you can't really see them because you're wearing so much powder. And when you were talking just now, a little bit of powder fell off your face and got onto Uncle Ghost's clothes."
Ghost Douluo subconsciously looked down at his clothes and found them completely clean.
But Yue Guan's gaze was like two poisoned knives, flying towards him.
The Gui Mei turned its face away, its shoulders twitching very slightly, whether from anger or laughter, it was hard to tell.
"I'm naturally fair-skinned, I never need makeup." Yue Guan forced a smile, but the throbbing veins on his forehead betrayed him. "Also, don't call me uncle, call me brother."
"No, Mom Bo Saixi taught me to be honest." Jiang Lan refused without even thinking.
"Pfft..."
Ghost Douluo couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Yue Guan's smile froze completely on her face, her expression as if someone had poured a bucket of ice water over her head and toes.
"Gui Mei." Yue Guan didn't turn around. "Did you just laugh?"
