Background

Qiu'er was originally Star Dou Forest's Three-Eyed Golden Lion and Imperial Auspicious Beast. She resented Gu Yuena placing the newly arrived Lu Yuan on a status equal to hers, believing that a human Soul Scholar should not stand alongside the soul beast revered by the forest. 5

Her rivalry with Lu Yuan quickly became a playful companionship. He repeatedly called her “little golden furball,” while she threatened to bite him; Bi Ji welcomed their bond because it eased Qiu'er's long-standing loneliness. 7

Despite being loved and protected by Star Dou's elders, Qiu'er found the forest's unchanging life lonely. When Gu Yuena proposed human transformation as a possible path toward godhood, Di Tian initially feared losing the benefits her presence brought to the forest. After hearing her wish to experience the outside world, he accepted her decision and promised that Star Dou Forest would always remain her refuge. Gu Yuena arranged Attribute Guidance between Qiu'er and Lu Yuan.
