These wounds had not been inflicted by the Three-Eyed Toads, but by the fighters themselves. Every time they were poisoned, they swung their blades and cut away the affected flesh. If the poisoning was too severe, they would even sever their own arms outright.

They only refrained from cutting where using a blade was impractical, because that would kill them even faster. Most of the suicide fighters had not actually died of poisoning because their spiritual power ran out. Rather, their injuries were too severe, and they had lost too much blood. Only when their strength finally failed were they struck by large numbers of poisonous rays and poisoned to death.

"They really do live up to the name of suicide fighters. To think they could go this far even against themselves." As Huo Hai watched from a distance, his heart filled with awe.

True suicide fighters could sacrifice their lives to accomplish their mission. Likewise, to preserve their lives long enough to complete it, they could inflict any sort of mutilation on themselves. The mere sight of them sent a chill through him.
