Background / History

Before becoming Qing Xuan, he was Gu Xuan, a Blue Star trainee assigned to Douluo Continent as a work-study student with an Iron Sword martial soul and Innate Soul Power of level three. A transmission accident severed his connection to that world and left him within the Primordial World instead. 1 3

His Blue Star identity was itself an inherited identity: he possessed the original Gu Xuan’s memories but distinguished those memories and relationships from his own feelings. In particular, he did not inherit the original owner’s romantic attachment to Su Qingxue. The original Gu Xuan’s parents had died, and the neighboring Su family continued to care for him. 1 100 101 102

His True Spirit merged with the remaining origin of the shattered Chaos Pearl inside Buzhou Mountain. Nourished by Buzhou Mountain’s fortune, Pangu’s pressure, and surrounding Dao traces, he gestated within an Innate Grand Formation while a nascent world and its World Great Dao developed within him. 3 4

After thirty-six Epoch Cycles, Qing Xuan took human form as an Innate Divine Being. He retained Gu Xuan’s memories and identity, but adopted “Qing Xuan” as the Dao title representing his rebirth from the Chaos Pearl’s origin. 4

Following the Dao-Devil War and several Epoch Cycles of secluded cultivation on Purple Emperor Star, Qing Xuan completed the Thirty-Six Heavens of Great Luo with Qing Yi. Their cultivation now points toward Primordial Unity: Qing Xuan seeks to return the laws of his perfected inner world to Chaos, while Qing Yi seeks to recreate heaven, earth, and all things from Chaos. 57 84 88

Before Zixiao Palace’s third lecture, Qing Xuan and Qing Yi prepared limited mortal Dao bodies and returned to Blue Star. Qing Xuan resumed the identity of Gu Xuan to avoid exposing his connection to the Primordial World, while Qing Yi registered under the alias Qing Lian. Their purpose is to let Qing Yi experience mortal society, emotions, and human nature firsthand for her future Creation Dao cultivation. 89 98 99

The mortal vessels were prepared with Nuwa’s assistance through the Qiankun Cauldron. Nuwa and Qing Yi removed their innate qi, Dao aura, divine vitality, and the spirituality of the Nine Heavens Breath Soil, leaving genuinely ordinary flesh and blood. Qing Xuan personally shaped the male vessel into Gu Xuan’s original appearance. Their consciousnesses entered these vessels while their innate true bodies remained seated in Purple Emperor Palace. 92 97

On Blue Star, Qing Xuan returned to the riverside home left by Gu Xuan’s parents and found that Aunt Su had continued maintaining it throughout his disappearance. He and Qing Yi settled into neighboring bedrooms, renewed contact with the Su family, and experienced ordinary household and city life together. 101 102 103 104 105

After their mortal sojourn, Qing Xuan opened a quiet passage back to Purple Emperor Palace. Both consciousnesses returned to their innate true bodies, and he stored the unharmed mortal vessels and their purchased trinkets in his inner world for possible future use. The palace emerged from nearly two Epoch Cycles of apparent seclusion, and the pair reunited with Kong Xuan at Phoenix Perch Mountain before the third Zixiao Palace lecture, fulfilling their promised return. 123

Appearance

Qing Xuan appears as a youthful Daoist despite having gestated for millions of years. He usually wears a dark or black Daoist robe and carries himself with an unusually calm, ancient bearing. 5 7

  • Dark Daoist robes. 5
  • Youthful human appearance and composed expression. 5
  • His birth was accompanied by visions of the sun, moon, stars, mountains, rivers, and Four Seas gathering around him. 5
  • His manifested inner world contains celestial bodies, mountains, rivers, and the Four Seas. 20 30
  • His original Daoist appearance includes ink-black hair, a slender youthful frame, and azure robes marked with dark-gold Dao patterns. 4
  • While concealed as Gu Xuan on Blue Star, he wears the white uniform of Linjiang Advanced Transcendent Academy and appears to be an ordinary eighteen-year-old student. 99
  • His mortal Dao body deliberately lacks the overwhelming aura and physical pressure of his Great Luo true form. 89 98
  • His mortal vessel reproduces Gu Xuan’s former face rather than simply presenting his innate Daoist appearance without an aura. Qing Yi remarks that Kong Xuan might not recognize him in this form. 92 97

Personality

Qing Xuan is measured, patient, and highly independent. He does not mistake foreknowledge from his former life for the ability to safely change destiny; instead, he avoids conflicts beyond his capacity while refusing to retreat from threats directly in his path. 7 8 9

He favors observation and deduction over force. This is reflected in his treatment of formations, treasures, and enemies: he studies their principles before acting, even when a direct assault would be faster. 10 28

Although generally restrained, Qing Xuan has a dry and eccentric sense of humor. He treats the phrase “Fellow Daoist, please stay” as an ominous curse capable of dragging cultivators into calamity. 22 24

Qing Xuan is cautious about Cause and Effect, particularly obligations that could entangle him in the conflicts of major factions. Nevertheless, he accepts responsibilities he considers fair, including protecting the Phoenix bloodline from calamities not caused by the Phoenix Clan itself and guiding Kong Xuan after accepting her as a disciple. 79 80

His independence extends to political authority. He refuses to let Eastern King define his status or use his reputation to legitimize a faction, and he remains committed to pursuing a Dao independent of the Heavenly Dao’s conventional Quasi-Sage path. 84 86

Despite his reserved nature, he is attentive toward Qing Yi and Kong Xuan. He gathers and exchanges spirit fruits for Qing Yi, patiently teaches Kong Xuan according to her own Five-Element path, and returned to Blue Star so Qing Yi could gain experiences unavailable in the Primordial World. 65 82 99

His restraint also applies to combat. He repels the Three Pure Ones without injuring them and later protects Hong Yun without injuring the opposing divine beings, demonstrating that overwhelming strength does not require indiscriminate violence. 60 143

Qing Xuan retains an emotional connection to ordinary family life despite his immense age and cultivation. Aunt Su’s concern moves him more than the academy’s impersonal treatment, and he recognizes Qing Yi’s companionship as having relieved the loneliness of his early existence in the Primordial World. 102

His confidence in cultivation contrasts with his hesitation in romance. When the Su family presses him to explain his relationship with Qing Yi, he becomes awkward; Qing Yi openly notes that he has not yet answered that question. His affection is more readily expressed through cooking, choosing clothes, lending his coat, and drying and combing her hair. 103 104 105

He remains largely indifferent to being judged powerless on Blue Star, but will answer deliberate humiliation with sharp sarcasm. When Zhao Lie boasts of his superiority, Qing Xuan mocks his excessive attention rather than submitting to his status as a Titled Dou Practitioner. 101 114

Abilities & Skills

World Dao

Qing Xuan’s innate Dao is the World Dao, inherited from the Chaos Pearl’s origin. His cultivation centers on evolving an inner world capable of containing, governing, and eventually generating its own laws. 4 16

  • Manifests mountains, rivers, sun, moon, stars, and seas as a world projection. 4 7
  • Draws enemies and attacks into his world, where he can suppress them through the power of heaven and earth. 9
  • Restores damaged terrain within his manifested world, preventing trapped enemies from exploiting destruction. 9
  • Supports and stabilizes damaged spiritual veins, formations, and collapsing spaces. 19 46
  • His world became self-sustaining after integrating Yin-Yang, Five Elements, Space-Time, and Creation principles. 16
  • Initially lacked the protection of a true spiritual treasure against similarly ranked opponents. 10
  • Integrated the movements of celestial bodies, Yin-Yang, seasons, geography, spiritual veins, and elemental transformations into a single interdependent system. 57
  • Can compress or reverse immense regions of space through the authority of his world, forcibly drawing even Great Luo opponents back within reach. 69
  • Uses Qiankun authority through his World Dao to suppress multiple Great Luo Divine Beings and turn the connected power of their treasures against them. 78
  • His perfected inner world serves as both the foundation of his own path of returning the myriad Daos to Chaos and a reference through which Qing Yi can create new worlds. 57 84
  • Can dismantle hostile Dao techniques by disrupting their internal relationships, including the balance of Yin-Yang and the generating cycle of the Five Elements. He used this method against Yuanshi’s attempt to establish a new cosmic order. 60
  • Combined with Qing Yi’s Creation Dao, his world can expand within an enemy’s body into countless internal worlds, using the enemy’s accumulated power as nourishment. 30
  • Reshapes terrain and redirects spiritual veins to create suitable environments for spirit roots, including a Five Elements spirit land for the revived Gourd Vine and a starlight-nourished valley for the Enlightenment Tea Tree. 72 73
  • Stores physical vessels and possessions within his inner world, including both mortal bodies after his return from Blue Star. 92 123

Chaos Origin

The Chaos Pearl Fragment restored Qing Xuan’s dormant Chaos Origin, revealing that the boundless Chaos beyond his inner world is both the source and eventual destination of his path. 30 40

  • Resonates with fragments and derivative treasures of the shattered Chaos Pearl. 28 30
  • Expanded his inner world’s outer boundary into a genuine Chaos realm. 30
  • Allowed him to sense and recover the Twenty-Four Sea-Calming Divine Pearls. 30 32
  • His understanding of the Chaos Dao remains incomplete; he recognizes it as his eventual direction rather than a path he can presently pursue directly. 40
  • Returns the interconnected laws of his perfected world toward their common Chaos origin, forming the basis of his intended Primordial Unity path. 57 84 88
  • His Chaos-derived origin and Great Luo Dao Fruit are independent of the Primordial World’s standard Heavenly Dao-bound path, allowing him to reject the Three Corpses Severing Method as his route beyond Great Luo. 83 84
  • Recognizes that the Sea-Calming Divine Pearls, though derived from the Chaos Pearl, have developed into independent treasures and cannot simply merge back into his origin. 32
  • After absorbing the recovered fragment, he declines to pursue further fragments at that time because he fears attracting the Great Dao Divine Thunder. 33

Formation Deduction and Space-Time Control

Qing Xuan can use his World Dao to mirror the workings of formations and derive their laws without destroying them. 10

  • Entered the Creation Azure Lotus’s hidden formation by reflecting its transformations within his phantom world. 10
  • Identified the Dragon Race remnant’s dependence on the Ruined Realm formation and tracked its reconstruction cycle. 27 28
  • Countered an attack spanning possible futures by drawing its countless manifestations into the present. 27
  • Reversed the Calamity-Transferring Formation after recording its complete circulation through the dragon-pattern traces entering his world. 28
  • Established a fixed spatial reference within the Three Immortal Islands’ mist formation using the Hongmeng Measuring Heaven Ruler, enabling him and Qing Yi to force open a path through its distorted space. 43
  • Freely manipulates stellar distances and connected regions of the Cosmic Star Sea, though he encourages Kong Xuan to observe such methods rather than depend upon them. 89
  • Untangled the Xuanyuan Water-Control Flag’s protective formation from the Northern Dark Sea’s Water Veins while Qing Yi mirrored its restrictions with the Green Lotus Treasure-Colored Banner. 60
  • Maintains a connection between his complete consciousness and innate true body across worlds, allowing him to open a controlled portal from his Blue Star lodgings to Purple Emperor Palace without visible magical power from his mortal vessel. 123
  • Seals Purple Emperor Palace behind protective formations and conceals its internal aura while leaving his true body in meditation. 97

Great Luo Dao Fruit

Upon reaching Great Luo, Qing Xuan gathered every alternate possibility of himself across the River of Time into one unique true self. 20

  • His Dao Fruit is no longer dependent on a single moment or version of himself. 20
  • He understands that a Great Luo’s personal Dao must remain independent even if heaven and earth are destroyed and remade. 16
  • His Dao Fruit had advanced to the twentieth heaven of Great Luo by Hongjun’s visit to Purple Emperor Star. 48
  • He reached the Twenty-Fourth Heaven after unifying the laws operating within his inner world. 57
  • He and Qing Yi later completed the Thirty-Six Heavens and attained Great Luo perfection. 88
  • He recognizes Great Luo perfection as a threshold rather than an endpoint, with Primordial Unity being the next objective of his personal path. 57 83 88
  • Returning to his innate body restores perception of Purple Emperor Star, the movements of the Cosmic Star Sea, and changes throughout the Primordial World that his mortal senses could not encompass. 123

Five Elements and Dao Instruction

Qing Xuan possesses a profound understanding of the Five Elements through his World Dao and his pursuit of the Five Directional Primordial Flags. 74 80

  • Recognized that Kong Xuan’s Five-Colored Divine Light required the harmonious integration of its five origins rather than the separate use of five elemental forces. 76
  • Instructed Kong Xuan to observe and manipulate the linked Five Elements of the Five-Needle Pine with precision, allowing her to retrieve a single pinecone without disturbing the tree. 82
  • Refuses to impose his World Dao or Chaos Dao upon Kong Xuan, believing that a disciple must find a path suited to her own innate foundation. 82
  • His command of Qiankun and the Five Elements makes him a suitable guide for Kong Xuan’s innate Five-Element cultivation. 78 80
  • Teaches through the specific problems Kong Xuan encounters, asking her to demonstrate failed attempts before explaining the principles she has not understood. 88
  • Required Kong Xuan to reach and consolidate the Taiyi realm before allowing her to travel independently. Once she met that condition, he fulfilled his promise rather than keeping her indefinitely confined. 82 89
  • Advises her to deepen her refinement of the World-Cleansing White Lotus and eventually combine its use with her Five-Colored Divine Light. 97

Mortal Dao-Body Concealment

Qing Xuan can prepare and operate a limited body suited to a weaker world without exposing his Great Luo true form. 89 98

  • Concealed his return to Blue Star from the Blue Star Firmament and manipulated time flow during the descent. 99
  • Resumed Gu Xuan’s identity without revealing his identity as Qing Xuan or his connection to Purple Emperor Palace. 98 99
  • His mortal incarnation registers as having no Soul Power, Martial Soul, cultivation, or detectable extraordinary ability. 98 100
  • Uses the disguise to guide Qing Yi through ordinary mortal experiences rather than receiving reverence as a transcendent powerhouse. 99
  • The mortal body is genuinely ordinary flesh and blood, not merely a divine body with its aura concealed. Its preparation required the removal of supernatural vitality and innate advantages. 92
  • His innate true body remains in the Primordial World while his complete consciousness inhabits the mortal vessel, preserving the public appearance of uninterrupted seclusion. 97 104
  • Choosing a mortal vessel does not irreversibly confine either cultivator to mortal existence. Qing Yi’s preparation to draw on heaven-and-earth power during Zhao Lie’s confrontation establishes that their mortal experience is voluntary rather than an absolute loss of access to the Dao. 114
  • Can leave the mortal vessel intact and return his consciousness to his sole innate true self; the preserved vessel remains available for another Blue Star visit. 123

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Twelve-Petal Creation Azure Lotus — A top-grade Innate Spirit Treasure formed from half of the Twenty-Four-Grade Creation Green Lotus. Qing Xuan refined it into the center of his inner world, where it established genuine life and a cycle of creation. 14 15
  • Hongmeng Measuring Heaven Ruler — A postnatal merit supreme treasure specializing in offense. It measures and defines his world’s boundaries, can destroy mountains, rivers, and space-time, and inflicts no karma when used to attack. 40
  • Chaos Pearl Fragment — A recovered fragment that merged into Qing Xuan’s body, replenishing his Chaos Origin and greatly advancing his Great Luo cultivation. 30
  • Godslayer Spear — An Innate Supreme Treasure formerly wielded by Shen Ni and later obtained by Hongjun. Hongjun entrusted it to Qing Xuan and Qing Yi for their future Dao-seeking in Chaos; they retain it for future use. 58
  • Five Directional Primordial Flags — Qing Xuan and Qing Yi gathered four flags before the second Zixiao Palace lecture and ultimately completed the set when Qing Yi claimed the Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner at the Treasure Distribution Cliff. Their collection serves their pursuit of the complete Primordial Five Elements. The set includes the Eastern Green Lotus Treasure-Colored Banner, Xuanyuan Water-Control Flag, Plain-Colored Cloud Realm Banner, Earthly Flame Light Flag, and Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner. 74 80 83 141
  • Eastern Green Lotus Treasure-Colored Banner — Qing Yi’s Supreme Innate Spirit Treasure, obtained after she and Qing Xuan restored the Eastern Water-Wood Ancestral Vein. 19 20
  • Xuanyuan Water-Control Flag — A Five Directional Primordial Flag wielded by Qing Yi and used alongside the Green Lotus and Plain-Colored banners to form part of a Five-Element cycle. Qing Xuan secured it in the Northern Dark Sea after defeating the Three Pure Ones in a contest and jointly dismantling its protective formation with Qing Yi. 60 74
  • Plain-Colored Cloud Realm Banner — Queen Mother of the West exchanged this Supreme Innate Spirit Treasure to Qing Yi for future gourds from the revived Innate Gourd Vine and a limited promise of assistance. 74
  • Earthly Flame Light Flag — A Supreme Innate Spirit Treasure transferred by Yuanfeng after Qing Xuan accepted her conditions and Kong Xuan became his disciple. 80
  • Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner — The last flag needed to complete their collection. Qing Yi claimed it at the Treasure Distribution Cliff after defeating Jieyin, Zhunti, and opportunistic attackers; Qing Xuan supported her claim and welcomed her success. 141
  • Qiankun Cauldron — An Innate Supreme Treasure given by Hongjun in repayment for the western Earth Veins. Qing Xuan entrusted it to Qing Yi because its powers of returning things to their origin and transforming the acquired into the innate better suit her Creation Dao. 58
  • Twenty-Four Sea-Calming Divine Pearls — A complete Supreme Innate Spirit Treasure set derived from the shattered Chaos Pearl. Qing Xuan recovered and subdued the pearls before giving them to Qing Yi, whose Dao benefits more from their internal worlds. 32 33
  • Karma Fire Red Lotus — An incompletely refined Twelve-Grade Lotus Platform stored by Qing Yi after Qing Xuan and Qing Yi aided Minghe in the Blood Sea. 46
  • Twelfth-Grade World-Cleansing White Lotus — A Supreme Innate Spirit Treasure subdued at the Three Immortal Islands. Qing Xuan and Qing Yi later gave it to Kong Xuan as her formal disciple-gift, as its defensive and purifying properties complement her Five-Colored Divine Light. 43 81
  • Revived Innate Gourd Vine — The surviving essence of the Innate Gourd Vine was preserved in the Dark-Cyan Gourd, revived by Qing Yi, and replanted on Purple Emperor Star. Its eventual gourds formed part of Qing Xuan’s exchange with Queen Mother of the West. 74 81
  • Enlightenment Tea Tree — A spirit root transplanted from Buzhou Mountain to Purple Emperor Star. Qing Xuan reconnected its new valley to the star’s Earth Veins and directed starlight into its spring, enriching the environment in which its Dao leaves develop. 59 72 73
  • Five-Needle Pine and Astral Fruit Tree — Rare spirit roots maintained at Purple Emperor Palace. Their fruits serve as cultivation resources, hospitality offerings, and exchange goods; Qing Xuan traded their produce with Queen Mother of the West. 65 66 81
  • Ren Water Flat Peach Sapling — Grown from the peach pit obtained at West Kunlun. Qing Xuan planted it beside a water vein connected to the Three Lights Divine Water pond and protected it with a formation, primarily wishing to grow peaches for Qing Yi rather than seeking Dao benefits. It is not a second mother tree of the same rank. 66 73
  • Postnatal Mortal Bodies — Two ordinary vessels prepared for the Blue Star journey, one shaped as Gu Xuan and the other as Qing Yi. After returning to their innate bodies, Qing Xuan stored both unharmed vessels in his inner world. 92 97 123
  • Purple Emperor Palace Limited Couple’s Edition Ornament — A Blue Star souvenir depicting Qing Xuan and Qing Yi together on a Twelfth-Grade Green Lotus. Qing Yi purchased the ornament during their mortal outing and arranged the two figures closer together at home; their purchased trinkets were later brought back to the Primordial World. 105 123

Relationships

  • Qing Yi — His closest companion and equal Dao partner. Qing Xuan protected her transformation, named her, and shares a mutually reinforcing relationship between his World Dao and her Creation Great Dao. Their paths now respectively return the myriad Daos to Chaos and recreate all things from Chaos; on Blue Star, she accompanies him as “Qing Lian” to experience mortal life. Their closeness increasingly takes the form of domestic affection, although he remains hesitant to explicitly define their romantic relationship. He credits her companionship with making pursuit of the Great Dao less lonely. 13 16 20 57 99 102 103 104 105
  • Hongjun — Fellow Daoist, early mentor, and intellectual equal. Their Dao discussions helped Qing Xuan understand the threshold of Great Luo, though Qing Xuan continues to follow his own path. Hongjun later repaid Qing Xuan and Qing Yi for preserving the western Earth Veins with the Qiankun Cauldron and Godslayer Spear in exchange for one future act within their power after they attain Primordial Unity. 8 16 48 58
  • Qiuniu — Dragon Race acquaintance and recurring recruiter. Qing Xuan respects Qiuniu’s honesty but repeatedly refuses to bind his fortune to the Dragon Race. 22 23 33
  • Zhen Yuanzi — Ally in the effort to protect the western earth veins from Luohou’s demonic seals. Qing Xuan sought Zhen Yuanzi’s Earth Book knowledge but respected his refusal to lend the natal treasure itself. Their friendship extends to visits at Purple Emperor Star and care for Kong Xuan. Zhen Yuanzi later bows to Qing Xuan alongside Hong Yun after Qing Xuan protects Hong Yun from hostile divine beings. 37 38 94 96 143
  • Hong Yun — Friend of Zhen Yuanzi who later provides Qing Xuan and Qing Yi with Ginseng Fruits and remains connected to their western-earth-vein preparations. He has also become warmly acquainted with Kong Xuan and intends to visit Purple Emperor Star again. After the third Zixiao Palace gathering, Qing Xuan protects him when divine beings seek his primordial violet qi. 38 40 49 87 96 143
  • Minghe — Temporary ally in the Blood Sea. Qing Xuan helped stabilize the treasure formation, after which Minghe accepted a karmic debt to Qing Xuan and Qing Yi. 46
  • Dragon Race — Politically distant and potentially antagonistic. Qing Xuan rejected its recruitment and destroyed an ancient Dragon Race Great Luo that attempted to sacrifice him, but Qiuniu accepted that the remnant’s destruction was self-inflicted and continues to act as a bridge between the two sides. Qing Xuan does not assume that their personal acquaintance obliges the Dragon Race to avoid cooperating with Eastern King, recognizing that the clan acts according to its own interests. 23 30 33 95
  • Su Qingxue — The original Gu Xuan’s childhood companion and a Blue Star cultivator who admires Qing Xuan without knowing he is Gu Xuan. His composure and power inspire her, and she eventually chooses the independent Qing Xuan Contact Sequence over Blue Star’s safer Dragon Race plan. Qing Xuan himself has no romantic attachment to her. After she returns to Blue Star, she suppresses Zhao Lie’s pressure on his mortal incarnation, reprimands him for apparent recklessness, and offers assistance. She remains unaware of his true identity and regards Gu Xuan and the divine being she admires as belonging to different worlds. 1 17 63 96 99 102 114 122
  • Queen Mother of the West — Dao-discussion partner and trusted exchange partner. Qing Xuan and Qing Yi’s respective paths helped her understand that Return to the Hidden preserves the potential for renewal, and she later exchanged the Plain-Colored Cloud Realm Banner for future gourds and a limited assistance pledge. 65 66 74
  • Nuwa and Fuxi — Friendly fellow Daoists who visited Purple Emperor Star after Zixiao Palace. Qing Xuan respects Fuxi’s information concerning the Five Directional Flags, while Qing Yi offered to help Nuwa verify her path of Creation through Qing Xuan’s world. Nuwa subsequently helped prepare their mortal vessels, and the siblings hosted Kong Xuan during the Blue Star sojourn. After returning, Qing Xuan and Qing Yi resumed their connection at Phoenix Perch Mountain and later departed Purple Emperor Star upon sensing Nuwa’s new aura. 71 83 87 92 97 123 152
  • Yuanfeng — Phoenix Clan ancestor and Kong Xuan’s mother. Qing Xuan negotiated with her fairly for the Earthly Flame Light Flag, accepting only a limited obligation to preserve the Phoenix bloodline from disasters not caused by the clan itself. 79 80
  • Kong Xuan — His first and currently only disciple. Qing Xuan rescued her from a Taiyi pursuer, guided her Five-Colored Divine Light, accepted her discipleship at Yuanfeng’s request and her own insistence, and gave her the World-Cleansing White Lotus as a disciple-gift. He later permitted independent travel after she consolidated Taiyi cultivation, arranged for her to stay with Nuwa and Fuxi during his absence, and reunited with her before the third Zixiao Palace lecture. 76 80 81 88 89 97 123
  • Eastern King — A hostile political rival. Qing Xuan repeatedly defeated him and his allies, then rejected his attempt to use Qing Xuan’s strength and reputation to support the Chief of the Male Immortals faction. Eastern King later withdraws from an attempt to obtain Hong Yun’s primordial violet qi after Qing Xuan stands in his way. 78 86 143
  • Three Pure Ones — Rival treasure-seekers whom Qing Xuan defeated together in a controlled contest over the Xuanyuan Water-Control Flag. He recognizes their shared origin and future potential rather than dismissing them because of their defeat. Subsequent meetings at Zixiao Palace are restrained and courteous, especially with Taiqing. 60 64 141
  • Taiyi and Di Jun — Divine beings of the Sun Star. Taiyi challenged Qing Xuan to test his Dao attainments at Buzhou Mountain; Qing Xuan stopped and repelled the Chaos Bell barehanded, forcing Di Jun to catch and stabilize his brother with the River Chart and Luo Script. 61 69
  • Kunpeng — An antagonistic Great Luo whom Qing Xuan dragged back from a spatial escape and injured during the Buzhou Mountain treasure conflict. Kunpeng later blocks Qing Xuan’s group after the Treasure Distribution Cliff gathering, fixing his attention on Hong Yun. 69 141
  • Aunt Su and Uncle Su — Su Qingxue’s parents and longstanding caretakers of the original Gu Xuan. Aunt Su maintained his vacant home and welcomed his return with genuine maternal concern, valuing his survival over cultivation. Uncle Su offered practical help with ordinary education and encouraged him not to rush decisions about his future. Both warmly receive Qing Yi under her mortal alias. 101 102 103 115
  • Zhou Ruolan — Gu Xuan’s Blue Star teacher and an observer of Qing Xuan through the Firmament. She handles his return procedures, accepts Qing Lian’s registration, and advises him to contact the academy if the supposedly unstable passage causes physical abnormalities. She does not recognize his concealed identity. 5 99 101
  • Zhao Lie — A former Blue Star classmate who belittles Gu Xuan’s apparent loss of cultivation. Their antagonistic exchange escalates when Zhao Lie releases Soul Power after being mocked; Su Qingxue intervenes before Qing Yi acts. Qing Xuan initially states that he and Zhao Lie were not particularly familiar. 100 114
  • Di Jiang and the Witch Clan — Qing Xuan and Qing Yi visit the Witch Clan after the events surrounding Hong Yun’s protection. Di Jiang greets them courteously despite their unannounced arrival. 143 144

Story Role / Major Arcs

Rebirth at Buzhou Mountain

Qing Xuan’s transformation establishes the Primordial World storyline. His birth from the Chaos Pearl’s origin creates an Innate Divine Being whose World Dao cannot be measured through Blue Star’s familiar Soul Master system. 4 5

Fierce Beast Tribulation

After leaving Buzhou Mountain, Qing Xuan kills Fierce Beasts for merit while deliberately avoiding Great Luo-level combatants. His first meeting and subsequent three-thousand-year Dao journey with Hongjun substantially deepen his World Dao. 7 8

He later suppresses a beast tide of hundreds of Fierce Beasts led by a late-stage Taiyi Nine-Headed Beast without using a spiritual treasure. Although this earns considerable Heaven and Earth Merit, he recognizes the limitations of relying on his Dao alone and returns to Buzhou Mountain to seek a treasure suited to protecting his path. 9 10

Creation Green Lotus and Qing Yi

Qing Xuan discovers the Twenty-Four-Grade Creation Green Lotus but refuses to damage its sentience for personal gain. He later protects Qing Yi’s transformation, refines the remaining lotus platform, and gains a living cycle within his inner world. 11 13 14

Attainment of Great Luo

Qing Xuan and Qing Yi restore an Eastern Water-Wood Ancestral Vein before accepting its associated treasure. Their insight into restoration and rebirth brings both to peak Taiyi, after which they attain Great Luo together in the River of Time. 19 20

Conflict with the Dragon Race Remnant

In the North Sea Ancient Battlefield, Qing Xuan and Qing Yi uncover a Dragon Race Great Luo’s remnant True Spirit and its calamity-transferring trap. Qing Xuan reverses the formation, and the pair permanently destroy the remnant, allowing him to absorb a Chaos Pearl Fragment. 26 28 30

Their final counterattack turns the remnant’s devouring technique against him: Qing Xuan’s world expands inside the dragon body through Qing Yi’s Creation Dao, while the reversed Godslayer Spear intent reaches the final True Spirit. After absorbing the fragment, Qing Xuan senses the Twenty-Four Sea-Calming Divine Pearls in the East Sea and subsequently recovers them for Qing Yi. 30 32 33

Western Earth-Vein Preparations

Rather than confront Luohou directly, Qing Xuan investigates the Black Lotus demonic-seal network and prepares to preserve part of the western earth veins during the coming Dao-Demon conflict. He seeks Heavenly Dao Merit while limiting the damage of an event he cannot fully prevent. 37 38 49

Qing Xuan and Qing Yi ultimately protect portions of the western Earth Veins during the Dao-Devil War. Their intervention creates Cause and Effect with the Primordial World and is later acknowledged by Hongjun through his gift of the Qiankun Cauldron and Godslayer Spear. 57 58

Purple Tenuity Sanctuary and Dragon-Han Tribulation

Qing Xuan establishes his primary sanctuary on Purple Emperor Star because its link to the Primordial World’s firmament better supports the future development of his World Dao. As the Dragon-Han Tribulation escalates, he and Qing Yi reinforce their defenses and continue preparing to protect the western lands. 44 49

After the three clans withdraw from prominence, Qing Xuan and Qing Yi remain in secluded cultivation on Purple Emperor Star. Their inner world’s laws become unified, allowing Qing Xuan to reach the Twenty-Fourth Heaven of Great Luo before eventually attaining Great Luo perfection. 57 88

The sanctuary also develops into a shared home. Qing Xuan shapes suitable terrain and spiritual-vein arrangements while Qing Yi restores transplanted spirit roots, including the Enlightenment Tea Tree and Innate Gourd Vine. He plants a Flat Peach sapling chiefly to provide fruit for Qing Yi. 72 73

Zixiao Palace and the Primordial Unity Path

Qing Xuan and Qing Yi occupy the foremost prayer mats at Zixiao Palace and receive Hongjun’s teachings as fellow Great Luo cultivators rather than ordinary disciples. They recognize that the Three Corpses Severing Method is suited to beings bound to the Primordial World and the Heavenly Dao, while their own independent paths must lead toward Primordial Unity. 61 62 83 84

Qing Xuan later rejects Eastern King’s attempt to recruit him into the Chief of the Male Immortals faction, refusing to allow any external authority to define his place in the Primordial World. 86

Following the later distribution of seven strands of primordial violet qi, Blue Star observers regard Qing Xuan’s failure to receive one as a barrier to sagehood. Su Qingxue shares this interpretation despite admiring his strength; this is an outside assessment of his prospects, not confirmation that his independent Primordial Unity path has ended. 84 88 140

Five Directional Flags and Kong Xuan

Qing Xuan and Qing Yi pursue the Five Directional Primordial Flags to complete the Primordial Five Elements. Their exchanges with Queen Mother of the West and Yuanfeng secure the Plain-Colored Cloud Realm Banner and Earthly Flame Light Flag, bringing their collection to four flags before the second Zixiao Palace lecture. Qing Yi later claims the final Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner at the Treasure Distribution Cliff, completing the set. 74 80 83 141

During their journey to Undying Volcano, Qing Xuan rescues the primordial peacock Kong Xuan and gives her guidance concerning the harmonious use of her Five-Colored Divine Light. He later accepts her as his first disciple, establishing Purple Emperor Palace as a more familial sanctuary as well as a Daoist ground. 76 80 81

Before acquiring the Xuanyuan Water-Control Flag, Qing Xuan contests it with the Three Pure Ones in the Northern Dark Sea. A single controlled palm repels their combined attack and the defenses of Taiqing’s Mysterious Yellow Exquisite Pagoda; revealing the Hongmeng Measuring Heaven Ruler ends Yuanshi’s argument that a prolonged battle could favor them. Qing Xuan and Qing Yi then spend several thousand years dismantling the treasure’s formation. 59 60

At the Buzhou Mountain gourd conflict, Qing Xuan defeats the combined attacks of nearly fifty Great Luo beings, restrains Kunpeng’s spatial escape, and repels Taiyi’s Chaos Bell barehanded. This public display establishes his overwhelming superiority to many of the assembled Innate Divine Beings. 69

As Kong Xuan matures, Qing Xuan moves from strict protection toward supervised independence. He grants permission for travel once she consolidates Taiyi cultivation, accompanies her to Phoenix Perch Mountain, and later allows her to stay with Nuwa and Fuxi while he and Qing Yi are absent. 89 90 97

Return to Blue Star

After completing Great Luo perfection, Qing Xuan and Qing Yi create limited mortal Dao bodies and return to Blue Star before the third Zixiao Palace lecture. Qing Xuan conceals himself as the formerly missing Gu Xuan, while Qing Yi adopts the registered identity Qing Lian. 88 98 99

The return allows Qing Yi to experience human society from a mortal perspective, but Blue Star’s instruments classify Gu Xuan as powerless. His former classmates largely treat him as an ordinary failure despite his survival, while Su Qingxue remains unaware that Gu Xuan and Qing Xuan are the same person. 99 100

After completing the academy’s procedures, he leaves rather than resuming ordinary Class Seven attendance. The academy freezes his transcendent resources, and a possible transfer to an ordinary academy becomes a subject of gossip and family discussion. At home, however, Aunt Su and Uncle Su prioritize his safety and well-being rather than his apparent loss of status. 101 102 103

Qing Xuan guides Qing Yi through cooking, modern clothing, shopping, ordinary food, and household routines. They visit a Primordial World exhibition where their true identities have become statues and merchandise, purchase a paired ornament, and continue their increasingly intimate but still undefined relationship through everyday acts of care. 104 105

When Zhao Lie returns as a Level 95 Titled Dou Practitioner and mocks his apparent powerlessness, Qing Xuan answers sarcastically. Zhao Lie releases Soul Power, but Su Qingxue intervenes before Qing Yi acts. Qing Xuan accepts Su Qingxue’s concern without revealing his true capabilities, and later joins the Su family for New Year’s Eve dinner and preparations for a riverside fireworks celebration. 114 115

Before leaving Blue Star, he informs Aunt Su of his departure. Su Qingxue still assumes his future will remain mundane and separate from her planned Primordial World journey. Qing Xuan then returns to Purple Emperor Palace through a controlled portal, restores his innate true-body perception, and preserves the mortal vessels for future visits. 122 123

Treasure Distribution Cliff and Protection of Hong Yun

After the third Zixiao Palace gathering, Qing Xuan and Qing Yi travel with Zhen Yuanzi and Hong Yun to the Treasure Distribution Cliff. Qing Yi defeats Jieyin, Zhunti, and other treasure-seekers to obtain the Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner, while observers recognize that her Dao mastery rivals Qing Xuan’s. 141

Kunpeng subsequently blocks the group’s route and focuses on Hong Yun. In the ensuing conflict over Hong Yun’s primordial violet qi, Qing Xuan protects his friend while refraining from injuring the hostile divine beings. Eastern King and the Immortal Court’s forces withdraw after recognizing that they cannot overcome Qing Xuan and Qing Yi; Zhen Yuanzi and Hong Yun formally bow in acknowledgment. 141 143

Witch Clan Visit and Nuwa’s Creation Developments

Qing Xuan and Qing Yi subsequently make an unannounced visit to the Witch Clan, where Di Jiang receives them courteously. 144

Later, Qing Xuan emerges from Purple Emperor Palace and senses an unfamiliar new aura resonating with the vitality of the Primordial World. Qing Yi identifies Nuwa as its source. Qing Xuan immediately contracts the sea of stars beneath their feet and departs with Qing Yi toward the Primordial World, leaving Kong Xuan behind because they have not invited her on the journey. 152
