Background
Qing Yi originated as the Twelfth-Grade Creation Green Lotus, a portion of the divided Twenty-Four-Grade Creation Green Lotus. Qing Xuan concealed the Lotus Pond from outside observation while her lotus platform, roots, and leaves dissolved into an innate Dao body over several centuries. She voluntarily separated half of her origin for Qing Xuan, enabling him to refine the remaining Twelve-Petal Creation Azure Lotus into his World Dao. 13 14
After her transformation, Qing Xuan gave her the name Qing Yi, creating a karmic connection between them. She accepted it immediately, beginning an existence distinct from the Creation Green Lotus from which she emerged. 13
Her Creation Dao developed through prolonged Dao discussions with Qing Xuan and Hongjun. During their twelve Epoch Cycles of cultivation, she demonstrated that life could persist through the destruction and rebirth of a world, helping Qing Xuan complete the circulation of his World Dao. 16
Qing Yi later restored an eastern Ancestral Vein alongside Qing Xuan and received the Eastern Green Lotus Treasure-Colored Banner, a Supreme Innate Spirit Treasure born from a lotus leaf of the Chaos Green Lotus. The restoration brought both cultivators to Taiyi perfection and led to their simultaneous Great Luo breakthrough. 19 20
After the Dragon-Han Tribulation began, Qing Yi and Qing Xuan established Purple Emperor Star as their principal Daoist sanctuary. There, they gathered and cultivated numerous Supreme Innate Spirit Roots and Spirit Treasures, including the Five-Needle Pine, the World-Cleansing White Lotus, the Enlightenment Tea Tree, and the recovering Innate Gourd Vine. 43 44 72 73
At Zixiao Palace, Qing Yi and Qing Xuan claimed the first two meditation cushions before Hongjun’s Dao platform. Although they found Hongjun’s Immortal Dao system useful for verification, they continued following their own more fundamental Great Luo paths: Qing Yi’s path progresses from Creation toward creating worlds and evolving all phenomena from Chaos. 61 64 84
Following her exchanges with Nuwa, Qing Yi further demonstrated a Creation Dao that can open worlds, establish the circulation of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements, and provide an environment in which independently evolving life can exist. She later joined Nuwa in creating and refining fully mortal vessels stripped of innate qi, Dao aura, divine vitality, and other supernatural advantages. 70 71 91 92
Having completed Great Luo, Qing Yi agreed to accompany Qing Xuan to his former mortal world. Their consciousnesses entered postnatal mortal bodies while their true bodies remained in seclusion on Purple Star, allowing them to arrive on Blue Star without exposing their true identities or divine cultivation. 88 92 97 99
As Qing Lian, she lived with Qing Xuan in his former home, met the Su family, and experienced shopping, cooking, sleep, winter weather, and ordinary domestic companionship. These experiences broadened her understanding of embodied life beyond the effortless existence of an Innate Divine Being. 102 103 104 105 107 109
The pair subsequently returned to Purple Emperor Palace and transferred their consciousnesses back into their innate Dao bodies. Qing Xuan stored their unharmed mortal vessels and accompanying trinkets in his inner world for possible future visits. They reopened the palace and traveled to Phoenix Perch Mountain to reunite with Kong Xuan and resume their Creation discussions with Nuwa, fulfilling their promise to return before Hongjun’s third sermon. 123 124
At the third sermon, Qing Yi gained insight from the Heavenly Dao’s self-sustaining creation while remaining detached from the distribution of Primordial Violet Qi. Afterward, she secured the final Five Directional Primordial Flag at the Treasure Distribution Cliff and later demonstrated her Creation Dao against Houtu in two friendly contests. 138 141 145 146
Appearance
Qing Yi possesses a naturally formed innate Dao body whose perfection reflects her Creation Origin rather than cultivation or adornment. Her presence causes surrounding spiritual energy, plants, and natural Dao rhythms to respond to her. 13
- Wears a simple green or azure dress naturally formed during her transformation. 13
- Bears a lotus emblem associated with her Creation Green Lotus origin. 13
- Has a pure, cool, and harmonious bearing, often described as inseparable from the surrounding landscape and spiritual energy. 13
- Her appearance is considered the natural manifestation of a body perfectly suited to her own Dao. 13
- While visiting Blue Star, she uses a postnatal mortal body resembling her original appearance but lacking the natural harmony, Dao aura, and overwhelming vitality of her Innate Dao body. 97 98
- She is registered on Blue Star under the alias Qing Lian. 99
- Adopts modern clothing during her mortal visit, including warmer clothes and a scarf selected by Qing Xuan. She continues wearing them rather than immediately returning to her traditional green dress. 104
- Her mortal guise remains sufficiently similar to her true appearance that Aunt Su, academy observers, and a child at a Primordial World exhibition notice the resemblance, but none identifies her true nature. 99 104 105 114
Personality
Qing Yi is pure, direct, and largely free of worldly concerns. Having been born as an Innate Divine Being rather than raised in society, she initially treats her closeness with Qing Xuan as entirely natural, without attaching human conventions to gestures such as sharing food or using his sleeve to wipe fruit juice. 17 40
She places complete trust in Qing Xuan’s judgment, supporting him in dangerous encounters without hesitation. When he fled from Yinglong after hearing “Fellow Daoist, Please Stay,” she immediately strengthened his escape rather than questioning him until they were safe. 22 24
Although usually calm and restrained, Qing Yi reacts fiercely to threats against Qing Xuan. When the remnant Dragon Race Great Luo sought to seize Qing Xuan’s origin and reduce her to a servant, she responded with unusually visible anger and repeatedly destroyed the dragon’s manifested body. 29 30
Her compassion is expressed through action. She prioritizes restoring damaged spiritual veins over claiming treasures, nurtures life even in barren places, and uses her Creation Dao to preserve the possibility of renewal after catastrophe. 19 39 42
Qing Yi is increasingly playful around Qing Xuan, quietly teasing him over his repeated failed attempts to locate the Three Immortal Islands and directly questioning whether his plan to show her Blue Star is a date. 42 99
She is also generous and protective toward those she accepts. She gave Kong Xuan the World-Cleansing White Lotus, Three Lights Divine Water, and access to Five-Needle Pine cones, later praising the disciple for carefully nurturing the recovering Gourd Vine. 81 87 93
Her agreement to suppress her divine nature and enter a fragile mortal body with Qing Xuan reflects the depth of her loyalty and emotional commitment to him. 92 97
Mortal life brings out greater curiosity, spontaneity, and openly affectionate behavior. She asks to learn household skills, questions the emotions depicted in films, seeks Qing Xuan’s care in choosing clothes and drying her hair, and becomes mischievously competitive during a snowball fight. Her willingness to fall asleep against him without vigilance illustrates her complete sense of security in his company. 104 105 107 109
Her calmness does not imply submissiveness. At the Treasure Distribution Cliff, she refuses to surrender the Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner in exchange for Jieyin and Zhunti’s promised favors, asserting her own destined affinity and defeating their ensuing attack. 141
She is considerate in friendly contests but willing to meet a challenger seriously. She initially keeps pace with Houtu out of courtesy on the ancient axe-mark road; when Houtu rejects such restraint and requests another contest without treasures, Qing Yi readily accepts. After winning, she responds warmly to Houtu’s admiration and promise of a future rematch. 145 146
Abilities & Skills
Creation Great Dao
Qing Yi cultivates the Creation Great Dao, which governs generation, renewal, transformation, and the withdrawal of potential change.
- Creates and restores life, spiritual roots, and damaged earth or water veins. 19 39
- Understands creation as both birth and rebirth after destruction. 20
- Can stop ongoing transformation by removing an object’s possibility of further change, as shown against Luohou’s Black Lotus demonic seal. 37
- Reshapes hostile forces at their source, including transforming Godslayer Spear intent and Karmic Fire Red Lotus flames into azure lotuses. 26 46
- Sustains life imprints through Qing Xuan’s recurring world-destruction and rebirth cycle. 16
- Restores and preserves damaged Supreme Innate Spirit Roots, including the Enlightenment Tea Tree and Innate Gourd Vine, through careful control of spiritual soil, water veins, wood qi, Three Lights Divine Water, and Creation Dao patterns. 72 73 93
- Can create worlds in which Chaos separates into Yin-Yang, the Five Elements circulate, and mountains, rivers, stars, and living beings develop through their own cycles. 91
- Regenerates the life force dissolved by the World-Cleansing White Lotus, allowing her to overcome its purifying power through continued Creation. 43
- Studies the Heavenly Dao’s self-sustaining creation as a means of further verifying and refining her own path. 138
Return to the Hidden
Qing Yi’s Creation Dao has developed the principle of Return to the Hidden, through which things that emerge through Creation may be returned to their source.
- Opens heaven and earth through Creation before returning manifested things to their origin. 65
- Shares related but distinct Dao insights with the Queen Mother of the West, whose path concerns growth, emergence, gathering, and withdrawal. 65
- Uses the principle to understand that Creation is not only addition and growth, but can also involve the removal of excess divine qualities and the return of things to an ordinary state. 92
- Her long-term path is to advance from Creation to world creation and eventually evolve all phenomena anew from Chaos. 84 91
Great Luo Dao Fruit
After affirming that the Creation Green Lotus was her origin but not her identity, Qing Yi condensed her own Great Luo Dao Fruit within the River of Time. 20
- Her Dao remains independent from Qing Xuan’s World Dao while naturally complementing it. 20
- Can confront manifestations across Space-Time as a Great Luo cultivator. 29
- Uses her Dao to support Qing Xuan’s world when facing attacks spanning past, present, future, and alternate possibilities. 29 30
- Completed the Thirty-Six Heavens of Great Luo and reached Great Luo perfection alongside Qing Xuan. 88
- After returning from Blue Star, immediately resumed manifesting Creation through her innate Dao body, causing plants throughout the valley to sprout and worlds to emerge within Chaos before withdrawing the phenomena. 123
World Manifestation and Combat
Qing Yi applies Creation as an independent combat path, manifesting worlds that receive, transform, and wear down hostile Dao powers rather than merely resisting them. Her later battles establish that her mastery is formidable in its own right, not dependent on Qing Xuan’s intervention. 141 145 146
- Unfolds a vast world directly from Chaos, separating pure and turbid qi and establishing earth, water, fire, wind, celestial bodies, mountains, and rivers. 141
- Incorporates Jieyin’s nirvana power into the world’s circulation of life and death instead of allowing it to extinguish the world. 141
- Withstands Zhunti’s Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree without damage to the world’s foundations, then sends force back along its divine light to throw Zhunti backward. 141
- Converts attacking saber light into Geng metal qi and absorbs the weight of immortal seals into the earth, neutralizing multiple opportunistic attackers while claiming the Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner. 141
- Continually creates new layers of heaven, earth, and life to receive and erode remnants of Pangu’s sky-opening axe force. At the ancient road’s end, she contains a colossal axe shadow within mountains, rivers, and lotus petals, then compresses and dissolves it alone. 145
- Counters Houtu’s physical attacks with a layered world, transforms the shattered landscape into binding roots, and suppresses her beneath a green lotus without using Spiritual Treasures. She ends the duel with her hand stopped just short of Houtu’s brow. 146
Formation, Water, and Spatial Support
Qing Yi uses her treasures and Creation Dao to support large-scale movement, concealment, and formation-breaking.
- Absorbed the Innate Grand Formation surrounding the Lotus Pond into herself after her transformation. 14
- Concealed Qing Xuan’s aura while he refined the Twelve-Petal Creation Azure Lotus. 14
- Used the Twenty-Four Sea-Calming Divine Pearls to stabilize the Blood Sea and expose an Innate Grand Formation. 45
- Combined the pearls with Qing Xuan’s Hongmeng Measuring Heaven Ruler to navigate the folded spatial formation concealing the Three Immortal Islands. 42 43
- Used the Eastern Green Lotus Treasure-Colored Banner’s shared origin with the Xuanyuan Water-Control Flag to reflect, analyze, and break the Innate Grand Formation in the Northern Dark Sea. 60
- Combined the Green Lotus Treasure-Colored Banner, Xuanyuan Water-Control Flag, and Plain-Colored Cloud Realm Banner into an incomplete Five Elements world. 74
- Completed the Five Directional Primordial Flags when the Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner’s Wu earth Dao rhythm resonated with the four banner origins already within her. 141
Creation Instruction
Qing Yi can communicate advanced Creation Dao insights to other cultivators without forcing them to imitate her own path.
- Distinguished Nuwa’s creation of individual living beings from her own world-creating Creation Dao. 70
- Identified that Nuwa’s created beings required independent spirituality and recognition by the Primordial World rather than merely lifelike forms. 70 71
- Worked with Nuwa to construct mortal bodies and remove all remaining innate and divine mysteries from them. 91 92
- Returned to Phoenix Perch Mountain after her Blue Star journey to continue their unfinished discussions with firsthand experience of mortal existence. 123 124
Mortal Embodiment and Ordinary Skills
Her Blue Star vessel lacks detectable Soul Power and other supernatural cultivation, enabling her to experience ordinary physical needs and limitations. This temporary condition does not represent the loss of her true cultivation or destruction of her innate Dao body. 97 98 123
- Retains precise control of her flesh and blood, allowing her to move naturally upon entering the unfamiliar mortal vessel. 97
- Experiences hunger, cold, fatigue, sleep, and vulnerability to slipping on ice. 104 107 109
- Learns ordinary cooking quickly by reproducing techniques she has observed Qing Xuan perform. 107
- Retains exceptional perception and coordination during mundane activities, demonstrated by her rapid improvement and accurate throws in a snowball fight. 109
- Prepares to draw on the power of heaven and earth when Zhao Lie threatens Qing Xuan, although Su Qingxue intervenes before she acts. Her outwardly mortal state therefore does not make her incapable of responding to danger. 114
Equipment
- Eastern Green Lotus Treasure-Colored Banner — A Supreme Innate Spirit Treasure formed from a lotus leaf of the shattered Chaos Green Lotus. It recognized Qing Yi as its master after she and Qing Xuan restored the eastern Ancestral Vein. 19
- Xuanyuan Water-Control Flag — One of the Five Directional Primordial Flags, recovered from an Innate Grand Formation in the Northern Dark Sea. Its shared origin with Qing Yi’s Green Lotus Treasure-Colored Banner enabled the pair to break the formation protecting it. 60 74
- Western Plain-Colored Cloud-Realm Banner — One of the Five Directional Primordial Flags, exchanged to Qing Yi by the Queen Mother of the West in return for a future gourd from the restored Innate Gourd Vine and a conditional pledge of assistance. 74
- Earthly Flame Light Flag — The fire-associated Five Directional Primordial Flag formerly held by Yuanfeng at Undying Volcano. Qing Xuan and Qing Yi sought it through negotiations with the Phoenix Clan; by the Treasure Distribution Cliff encounter, its origin was among the four banner origins already within Qing Yi. 75 78 79 141
- Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner — A Supreme Innate Spirit Treasure associated with Wu earth Dao rhythms and protected by golden lotuses. Qing Yi claimed it at the Treasure Distribution Cliff after defeating Jieyin, Zhunti, and other attackers, completing the Five Directional Primordial Flags. 141
- Twenty-Four Sea-Calming Divine Pearls — A complete set of Innate Spirit Treasures containing miniature worlds. Qing Xuan gave all twenty-four to Qing Yi after recovering the Chaos Pearl Fragment. 32 33
- Qiankun Cauldron — An Innate Supreme Treasure gifted by Hongjun and handed to Qing Yi by Qing Xuan. It can return acquired things to the innate and provides Qing Yi with a powerful tool for restoring spiritual roots, refining Dao patterns, and verifying Creation. She also uses it to transport spiritual roots together with their supporting soil, veins, and springs. 58 59 70 72
- Twelfth-Grade World-Cleansing White Lotus — A powerful healing and purifying lotus subdued by Qing Yi on Penglai Island. Qing Yi later entrusted it to Kong Xuan as a protective treasure. 43 87
- Twelve-Petaled Karmic Fire Red Lotus — A lotus treasure captured in the Blood Sea by transforming its karmic fire through the Creation Great Dao. 46
- Postnatal Mortal Vessel — A body resembling Qing Yi but stripped of innate and divine mysteries, used for her Blue Star identity as Qing Lian. After her return, Qing Xuan stored it unharmed in his inner world for possible reuse. 92 97 123
Relationships
- Qing Xuan — Dao companion and the person with whom she shares a karmic origin. She voluntarily gave him half of her origin, travels and cultivates beside him, and attained Great Luo alongside him. Their paths remain distinct but mutually supportive, and she later agreed to experience mortal life on Blue Star with him. Their romance becomes increasingly explicit through domestic care and playful affection; by the trainees’ return, the narration states that they had confirmed their relationship the previous day. She later agrees with Houtu’s assessment that they are a perfect match. 13 20 88 97 103 105 107 113 146
- Hongjun — Fellow Daoist and participant in the twelve-Epoch Dao discussion that advanced Qing Yi’s understanding of Creation Dao. He later gifted her the Qiankun Cauldron and recognizes the independent paths that she and Qing Xuan have chosen beyond the Primordial World’s conventional limits. Qing Yi continues using his teachings for Dao verification, including studying self-sustaining Creation during his third sermon. 14 16 17 58 84 138
- Qiuniu — Dragon Race acquaintance who repeatedly attempted to recruit Qing Yi and Qing Xuan as guest elders; she shares Qing Xuan’s refusal to join the Dragon Race. 22 23 33
- Zhen Yuanzi — Ally in the effort to preserve western earth veins from Luohou’s future destruction. He later visits Purple Star and accompanies Qing Yi, Qing Xuan, and Hong Yun from Zixiao Palace through the Treasure Distribution Cliff and into Hong Yun’s subsequent crisis. 37 38 39 94 141 142
- Hong Yun — Zhen Yuanzi’s friend and a cordial acquaintance encountered at Longevity Mountain. He later visits Purple Star and joins Qing Yi and Qing Xuan’s return journey after receiving Primordial Violet Qi. Qing Yi remains beside Qing Xuan when he intervenes against the coalition seeking Hong Yun’s opportunity. 38 40 94 141 142
- Minghe — Cooperated with Qing Yi and Qing Xuan in the Blood Sea; Qing Yi claimed the Karmic Fire Red Lotus while Minghe acquired Yuantu and Abi. 45 46
- Queen Mother of the West — A fellow female Great Luo whose Return to the Hidden-related Dao complements Qing Yi’s Creation Dao. They discussed the Dao at Yaochi and later completed the exchange for the Plain-Colored Cloud-Realm Banner. 64 65 74
- Nuwa — Fellow cultivator of Creation Dao and Qing Yi’s acknowledged “Sister.” Qing Yi helped Nuwa understand the conditions necessary for true independent life, shared Nine Heavens Breath Soil with her, and later collaborated with her in creating mortal bodies. After returning from Blue Star, Qing Yi resumes their Creation discussions at Phoenix Perch Mountain. 70 71 91 92 123 124
- Fuxi — Nuwa’s elder brother and a cordial ally. Qing Yi visited Phoenix Perch Mountain with Qing Xuan, later welcomed Fuxi to Purple Star, and recognizes his exceptional mastery of formations. 70 71 87
- Kong Xuan — Qing Xuan’s disciple and Qing Yi’s disciple in all but formal title, who calls her “Mistress.” Qing Yi healed Kong Xuan, supported her acceptance into Purple Star, gave her the World-Cleansing White Lotus for protection, and treats her with protective, maternal affection. Before leaving for Blue Star, she permits Kong Xuan to stay with Nuwa and Fuxi; their reunion afterward is openly affectionate. 75 81 87 93 97 123
- Yuanfeng — Phoenix Clan ancestor and Kong Xuan’s mother. Yuanfeng negotiated with Qing Xuan and Qing Yi over the Earthly Flame Light Flag, requesting protection for the Phoenix bloodline and Kong Xuan’s acceptance as a disciple. 78 79
- Su Qingxue — A Blue Star cultivator who regards Qing Yi as both a potential romantic rival and an initially insurmountable benchmark. Qing Yi arrives on Blue Star beside Qing Xuan under the name Qing Lian and eventually meets Su Qingxue after the trainees return. Su notices her resemblance to the divine Qing Yi but rejects the connection because the two visitors appear mortal and Purple Emperor Palace remains publicly in seclusion. They also attend the Su family’s New Year’s Eve dinner together. 17 64 99 114 115
- Zhou Ruolan — Blue Star official who registered Qing Yi’s mortal identity as Qing Lian after her arrival with Gu Xuan. Zhou senses a vague resemblance to the Qing Yi observed through the Primordial World Firmament but does not identify her. 98 99
- Aunt Su and Uncle Su — Gu Xuan’s family acquaintances, who warmly welcome Qing Yi into their home as Qing Lian. Aunt Su takes an interest in her relationship with Qing Xuan and offers household help, while their ordinary marital affection provides Qing Yi with firsthand examples of human care and companionship. 102 103 104 115
- Zhao Lie — Blue Star returnee whose arrogance and hostility toward Qing Xuan puzzle Qing Yi. When he releases threatening Soul Power at Return Plaza, she prepares to suppress him through the power of heaven and earth, but Su Qingxue intervenes first. 100 114
- Jieyin and Zhunti — Rivals for the Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner. Their attempt to exchange promised favors for the treasure fails, and Qing Yi defeats their combined Dao powers when they attack her at the Treasure Distribution Cliff. 141
- Houtu — Ancestral Witch and friendly competitor. Houtu challenges Qing Yi first to a race through the road containing Pangu’s axe force and then to a no-treasure duel. Qing Yi wins both encounters, earning Houtu’s admiration and a promise to become stronger for a future rematch. Their competition concludes in friendly drinking and mutual respect. 145 146
- Di Jiang, Gonggong, and Zhurong — Ancestral Witches who witness Qing Yi’s passage through the axe-mark road and her duel with Houtu. Di Jiang respects her mastery and seals the wilderness battlefield to protect the surrounding land; the group later shares a bonfire feast with Qing Yi and Qing Xuan. 145 146
Story Role / Major Arcs
Transformation and Dao Foundation
Qing Yi transforms from the Creation Green Lotus into an independent Innate Divine Being, accepts her name from Qing Xuan, and becomes the complementary counterpart to his World Dao. 13 14
Dao Discussion and Great Luo Attainment
Her Creation Dao matures through Dao discussion with Hongjun and Qing Xuan. After restoring the eastern Ancestral Vein and claiming the Eastern Green Lotus Treasure-Colored Banner, she and Qing Xuan attain Great Luo together. 16 19 20
Dragon Race and North Sea Conflict
Qing Yi supports Qing Xuan’s refusal of Dragon Race recruitment, then fights beside him in the North Sea against a remnant Dragon Race Great Luo. Her repeated destruction of the dragon’s Dao body is essential to their recovery of the Chaos Pearl Fragment. 22 23 28 30
She holds the remnant back while Qing Xuan investigates the spear scar and its formation. In their final counterattack, her Creation Dao expands the world inside the dragon, strips the defenses from its remaining True Spirit, and contributes to its complete destruction. 28 30
Western Earth Vein Preparations
She assists Qing Xuan and Zhen Yuanzi in preparing hidden worlds, dormant azure seeds, and recovery measures for the western earth veins threatened by Luohou’s demonic seals. 37 39
Three Immortal Islands and Purple Star Sanctuary
Qing Yi helps uncover the Three Immortal Islands, subdues the World-Cleansing White Lotus, and aids in relocating the Five-Needle Pine to the Purple Emperor Star, where she and Qing Xuan establish their primary Daoist sanctuary. 43 44
Blood Sea Expedition
She claims the Karmic Fire Red Lotus by turning its own karmic flames into part of her Creation Dao, then later balances the red lotus with the World-Cleansing White Lotus at Purple Star. 46 48
Zixiao Palace and the Five Directional Flags
Qing Yi claims one of the first two Zixiao Palace cushions with Qing Xuan, listens to Hongjun’s first lecture, and continues following her own Creation-based Great Luo path. She then assists in obtaining the Xuanyuan Water-Control Flag and exchanges for the Plain-Colored Cloud-Realm Banner, assembling three of the Five Directional Primordial Flags. 61 64 60 74
Their search subsequently leads to Yuanfeng and negotiations over the Earthly Flame Light Flag. After the third sermon, Qing Yi personally claims the final Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner at the Treasure Distribution Cliff, defeating Jieyin, Zhunti, and other opportunistic treasure-seekers through her manifested Creation world. The acquisition completes the set and publicly establishes the scale of her independent Dao mastery. 75 78 79 141
Creation Exchanges and Kong Xuan’s Discipleship
Qing Yi forms meaningful Dao connections with the Queen Mother of the West and Nuwa, helping the latter pursue true independent life through Creation. After Kong Xuan seeks their protection, Qing Yi becomes her nurturing mistress, equips her with the World-Cleansing White Lotus, and helps make Purple Star a home for their disciple. 65 70 75 81 87
Her stewardship also extends to preserving the Enlightenment Tea Tree’s original supporting land and rescuing the dying Gourd Vine during the Buzhou Mountain treasure contest. While Qing Xuan confronts the competing divine beings, she protects the vine’s remaining spirituality and gathers its roots with the Nine Heavens Breath Soil for later restoration. 59 68 70 72 73
Great Luo Perfection and Mortal Bodies
After completing the Thirty-Six Heavens of Great Luo with Qing Xuan, Qing Yi joins Nuwa in refining mortal bodies emptied of all divine mysteries. She accepts the risks of mortality in order to accompany Qing Xuan back to his former world and experience ordinary life firsthand. 88 92 97
Blue Star Journey
Using the mortal identity Qing Lian, Qing Yi arrives on Blue Star with Qing Xuan under his former identity of Gu Xuan. Her purpose is to experience mortal civilization, human relationships, emotion, limitation, and society directly, broadening her understanding of Creation before pursuing Primordial Unity. 97 99
Living in Qing Xuan’s former apartment, she encounters human care through meals with the Su family and small acts of domestic companionship. She adopts modern clothing, shares desserts with Qing Xuan, asks him to dry and comb her hair, learns to cook, and experiences the unfamiliar need to sleep. Their relationship develops through these ordinary gestures and is subsequently confirmed. 102 103 104 105 107 113
Her winter experiences include a snowball fight, building a deliberately imperfect snowman with Qing Xuan, and posing for a photograph that preserves their shared mortal memory. After the trainees’ return, she remains composed during Zhao Lie’s confrontation and prepares to protect Qing Xuan before Su Qingxue intervenes. She later joins the Su family’s New Year’s Eve dinner and helps prepare their fireworks outing. 109 114 115
Return to the Primordial World
Qing Yi and Qing Xuan quietly open a portal from their Blue Star lodgings to Purple Emperor Palace and return to their true bodies. Their mortal vessels remain intact and are stored for potential reuse. After ending the palace’s seclusion, they visit Phoenix Perch Mountain, reunite with Kong Xuan, and resume their exchanges with Nuwa, bringing the perspective gained through mortality back to their pursuit of the Dao. 123 124
Third Sermon and Hong Yun’s Crisis
During Hongjun’s third sermon, Qing Yi studies the Heavenly Dao’s self-sustaining Creation rather than seeking a strand of Primordial Violet Qi. After Hong Yun receives the final strand, he and Zhen Yuanzi accompany her and Qing Xuan to the Treasure Distribution Cliff and on the return journey. 138 141
Kunpeng, the Eastern King, and more than a hundred Innate Divine Beings subsequently block their route and demand Hong Yun’s Sagehood foundation. Qing Yi remains at Qing Xuan’s side as he refuses to abandon Hong Yun and steps forward to confront the coalition. 142
Houtu’s Challenges and the Ancestral Witch Visit
During their visit to the Ancestral Witches, Qing Yi respects the restriction on entering Pangu Hall and instead enters the nearby road containing remnants of Pangu’s sky-opening axe force. Houtu challenges her to a race, but Qing Yi maintains a controlled lead and dissolves the final colossal axe shadow alone. Houtu then realizes that Qing Yi had moderated her pace out of consideration. 145
In the ensuing no-treasure duel, Qing Yi uses her manifested world to absorb Houtu’s blows, bind her with roots, and suppress her beneath a green lotus. Houtu concedes without bitterness, and the contest gives way to a shared bonfire feast. After departing Buzhou Mountain, Qing Yi and Qing Xuan witness the opening signs of full-scale conflict between the Immortal Court and Demon Court. 146
