Identity

Kiana was the original holder of the name and identity later assigned to K422, a clone publicly presented as “Kiana Kaslana.” The two eventually met in person, recognizing each other as sisters despite Otto’s manipulation of their identities. 3 45

She later adopted the public identity Freya Kaslana while serving in the Alliance. Kiana and Freya also outwardly used each other’s names after Otto’s disappearance, making their public identities deliberately difficult to trace. 364 393

Background / History

Born with the bloodlines of both the Kaslana and Schariac families, Kiana was treated as an experimental subject from childhood. Early testing only recognized her Kaslana traits; after Cecilia’s death and Siegfried’s defection, Otto confined her at Schicksal, subjected her to recurring experiments, and provided an education within what Kiana regarded as a cage. 286 291

Otto replaced her public place with K422, whose assumed identity and awakening Schariac-related power attracted the attention of both the Kaslana and Schariac families. Kiana’s link with K422 nevertheless gave her companionship and improved her mental state. 13 21

Kiana developed a close bond with Freya and Aurora in their shared consciousness space. She initially pursued revenge against Otto, but feared that staying close to her sisters would weaken the hatred powering her black flames. 262 280

To gain an independent force and hunt Otto, Kiana infiltrated World Serpent as Kevin’s appointed emissary. She became its acting leader, rebuilt its external organization as the Ice-bound Serpent, and worked to repair World Serpent’s global reputation. 153 160 180 353

Her confrontation with Otto’s Soul Steel clone forced her to confront the difference between Otto’s claimed “protection” and the suffering she experienced under his custody. Later, within the core space of Black Abyss White Flower, she reunited with Cecilia’s consciousness and found peace through her mother’s apology and love. 286 288

Kiana is often associated with a black cloak and the dark flames that manifest in her eyes when her hatred intensifies. In combat, she has worn a close-fitting training combat suit and wielded an imitation Greatsword of Heavenly Fire. 262 286 510

Personality

Kiana is stubborn, cautious, and intensely protective of her family. She accepted the dangers of infiltrating World Serpent because she believed controlling it was necessary to protect her sisters and prevent it from remaining a threat. 153 155

Her emotional power initially made hatred central to her growth, leaving her cold and volatile around Otto and those who obstructed her revenge. Yet she retained empathy: Welt’s refusal to abandon her moved her, and Cecilia’s reunion ultimately transformed her power and disposition. 264 288

As World Serpent’s leader, Kiana matured rapidly under pressure. She carried responsibility for a collapsing organization while resisting Freya’s attempts to subsume it into Schicksal’s sphere of influence. 260 280
