Background

Honkai is described in research records as a periodic natural-disaster phenomenon and “rhythmic adjustment of the universe.” Its energy arises more intensely in spacetime undergoing greater entropy change, gathering into increasingly severe Honkai sources. 519

Its disasters take many forms: infection and mutation of humans and animals, lethal diseases, natural disasters, wars, pure Honkai Energy, Honkai Beasts, and Herrschers. As a civilization develops, the intensity of its corresponding Honkai disasters rises. 488 519

Whether Honkai possessed a consciousness was once disputed among scholars. Previous Civilization records nevertheless identified the Herrscher of Constraint as an “Anti-Herrscher” created specifically to counter Fusion Warriors, indicating an adaptive intelligence behind its trials. 191 295

Appearance

Honkai has no confirmed fixed physical body. Its manifestation within Fu Hua's consciousness space first appeared as a white figure seated upon an unknown stone throne, then shifted through forms resembling Fu Hua, Otto Apocalypse, and a haggard young man. 456

Most observed Honkai consciousnesses are believed to follow the Imaginary Tree's rules, but the consciousness affecting Freya's world is considered unusually proactive and distinct from those of other worlds. 462
