  • Feng Xu inspected workshops and discussed the new ship’s construction and defensive arrays with Old Man Jiang at Jiang City Shipyard.
  • A messenger told Feng Xu that the fleet was expected to reach the Southern Wilderness docks in two months, so Feng Xu agreed to stay at the shipyard.

Ch. 77The Fleet Returns

Feng Xu welcomed Qu Shan, Lin Feng, and Jiang Ming after their fleet returned from the Eastern Sea with nearly all its crew safe, new resources, and thousands of displaced people. After learning about the voyage and arranging for the newcomers to settle at the Southern Wilderness docks, Feng Xu and the others agreed to consider continuing the fleet’s southern voyages.

  • Feng Xu heard from the Giant Golden Carp about powerful demons along the river route and spotted the returning fleet at noon.
  • Qu Shan reported that two of the fleet’s three thousand people had died, while more than two hundred were injured, and Jiang Ming and Lin Feng reunited with Feng Xu.
  • Feng Xu inspected the fleet’s cargo and learned that its crews had taught overseas Human Race communities to fish, farm, build houses, and make pottery and baskets.
  • Qu Shan asked how to settle several thousand people rescued from places where they could not survive, and Feng Xu assigned them to docks across the Southern Wilderness without restricting their freedom to leave.
  • Qu Shan, Lin Feng, and Jiang Ming agreed they were willing to continue sailing south, and the group returned to the docks to finish organizing the cargo before heading to the Central Wilderness.

Ch. 78Blueprint for the Future

  • Three years later, Yunfeng told Feng Xu that the southern demons were joining forces to hunt down every human.

Ch. 79Reinforcements

Feng Xu and the commanders debated how to save hundreds of thousands of humans threatened by a Demon Race alliance, and Yunfeng ordered a rescue despite the danger. Feng Xu failed to obtain the Blood Sabers, while Iron Pillar departed with the fleet and left Xi Feng with a final message that stunned Feng Xu.

  • Fuxi accepted the Demon Emperor's invitation and left a Fuxi Qin behind to protect the Human Race from powerful attackers.
  • Iron Pillar and Feng Xu argued over rescuing the humans in the Southern Plains and Nearshore, and the commanders voted against a rescue.
  • Yunfeng overruled the vote and ordered half the commanders to join a rescue fleet departing in one month.

  • Iron Pillar sailed south with Yunfeng and six commanders, while Xi Feng told Feng Xu that Iron Pillar had called him an immortal with an unshakable will.

Ch. 80The Human Dao System

After binding the Human Dao System, Feng Xu learned that Iron Pillar had spent Human Dao Destiny to support him and the Human Race, then left for the south after finding Iron Pillar missing. Ten days earlier, Iron Pillar had helped Yunfeng and the fleet flee the Southern Plains while Chen, Qu Shan, and the other defenders fought the pursuing Demon Race, leaving the retreat’s fate uncertain.

  • Feng Xu discovered that the Human Dao System linked Human Dao Destiny to the Human Race’s strength and development, and realized Iron Pillar had used it to grant him Merit and support the Dharma Artifact Factory.
  • Feng Ling found Feng Xu gone from his study and read his note saying he had gone south and that life in the Great Wilderness should continue as usual.
  • Ten days earlier, Yunfeng’s fleet fled the Southern Plains while Iron Pillar took the injured lord aboard and Chen, Qu Shan, and thirteen other Human Race experts stayed behind to cover the retreat.

Ch. 82Southward

Feng Xu returned to the fleet with Iron Pillar’s body, then struggled with his inheritance of the Human Dao System and chose to go south to rescue the humans trapped by the Demon Race. He infiltrated the Demon Race camp in disguise and approached the Sun-Swallowing Demon King, who mistook him for Demon King Zhufeng.

  • Feng Xu brought Iron Pillar’s body back to the fleet, and Yunfeng explained how Iron Pillar had held off the Demon Race army before dying from exhaustion.

  • Feng Xu traveled south, entered the Demon Race camp in wolf-demon form, and convinced a guard that he was Demon King Zhufeng.
  • The Sun-Swallowing Demon King put away the Seventy-Two Blood Sabers and left his Cave Abode to greet the demon he believed was Zhufeng.

Ch. 83Rumors ran rampant

Feng Xu manipulated the Sun-Swallowing Demon King into cultivating baleful qi, then spread rumors that he planned to use it to dominate the plains and Nearshore. The rumors alarmed demons on both fronts, leaving Sun-Swallowing's ambitions under growing scrutiny.

  • The Three-Headed Flood Dragon led an allied army against Sun-Swallowing, accusing him of cultivating baleful qi and slaughtering demons.
  • Sun-Swallowing fought the greater demons with the Blood Saber, released his baleful qi, and was badly wounded despite killing several opponents.
  • Feng Xu met Dashan, A-Fei, and the rescued humans, then headed east toward Sun-Swallowing’s territory to turn the demon king’s baleful qi against him.
  • Sun-Swallowing absorbed baleful qi from nearby demons and formed a black cocoon as he tried to break through to Golden Immortal.
  • The allied demons shattered the cocoon, but an enormous maw emerged from the black mist and dragged Red Armor inside.
