"So, even though Tiago has already gone to hell, Mia still has to be locked up here? They can't let her out?"
In the dark corridor of the underground medical laboratories at St. Mungo's, Roy and his companions had used the pass he had obtained from Dumbledore to enter the hospital's restricted underground research area. Not a trace of sunlight from above could reach this place; the corridor was lit entirely by the feeble glow of dim incandescent bulbs overhead. Judging by the atmosphere alone, Roy and his companions could have sworn they had wandered onto the wrong set and accidentally joined the horror movie being filmed next door.
"No, but I'm working on it."
Walking at the front of the group, Roy was the only one not carrying a gift. As he walked, he looped the strap of the St Mungo's Hospital pass Dumbledore had given him around his finger and swung it like a yo-yo, explaining the situation to the others behind him.
"They're keeping Mia somewhere like this? I thought Dumbledore would arrange a more pleasant environment for her."
It was Aisling who spoke. Clearly, the underground environment at St. Mungo's was gloomy enough to make even a Slytherin who lived beneath the Black Lake every day feel uncomfortable.
Roy glanced at Aisling beside him, sighed, and slowly began to explain, sounding helpless.
"I've spoken to Dumbledore. Mia already has the most luxurious private room in the underground isolation ward at St. Mungo's. This place is meant to isolate creatures whose bodies have mutated after exposure to unusual magic. A lot of those who research magical body modification barely have any humanity left. No matter how nice you made their surroundings, they wouldn't keep them that way for even a minute."
Roy led Mia's visiting party around
