"The person who attacked you has been caught. The one who ordered the killer to do it was the current head of Gringotts-no, the former head now. His name was Tiago. We still don't know why he attacked you, or why he wanted that diamond so badly, but he's dead now. We're safe."
Inside Mia's little isolation room, everyone who had come to visit sat in a circle on small stools, presenting the gifts they had brought one after another to an expectant Mia.
"Wow! What a beautiful necklace!!!"
Cedric, Tonks, and the others had brought little things like toys and snacks. They weren't particularly valuable, but gifts were about the thought behind them. None of them had expected Aisling to be so lavish yet again.
Perhaps girls simply found shiny things more alluring. Once Mia opened Aisling's package, the glittering ruby necklace of pure gold in her hands stole all her attention, to the point that she couldn't even hear what Roy was telling her.
"Showing off how rich you are, huh? Who told you to give her something so expensive?"
Faced with Roy's distinctly Dumbledore-like complaint, Aisling smiled faintly and gave him a thoroughly dismissive shrug.
"Don't blame me. It belonged to that guy. I thought, since the dead have no use for worldly possessions, why not give his collection to the victims of his actions? That counts as upholding justice, doesn't it?"
At Aisling's words, Roy narrowed his eyes, his sharp gaze sweeping over the ruby necklace in Mia's hands before darting between their expressions. In the end, he couldn't withstand Mia's pleading look. With a sigh, he agreed to let her keep the treasure that had belonged to Tiago.
"Yeah!!!!!!"
As soon as Roy nodded, Mia cheered and gleefully put the ruby necklace around her neck.
