Chapters 602–626 Vol. 7 Read

Ch. 602The Offensive and Defensive Battle

Hunter E and Hunter C’s Pokémon coordinated an attack and defense against the rangers’ powerful Pokémon. The Ghost-type Pokémon formed layered barriers around the Nether Domain, but the Champion-level Sceptile’s Leaf Storm began to overwhelm their first defense.

  • Hunter E ordered Whimsicott to use Substitute, and the two Whimsicott boosted Hydreigon and Braviary with Helping Hand.
  • Hydreigon fired three Dragon Pulses while Braviary’s Hurricane collided with Pelipper’s tornado.
  • Milotic, Serperior, and the two Sceptile blocked Hydreigon’s Dragon Pulses with their own moves.
  • Sableye and Mismagius combined Light Screen and Reflect into a barrier as the other Ghost-type Pokémon added layers of defenses and Protect shields around the Nether Domain.
  • The Champion-level Sceptile’s Leaf Storm struck the first barrier, making its ghostly glow flicker and its surface hum under the strain.

Ch. 603Spirit World Passage

Hunter C’s Ghost type Pokémon held off the attacks long enough for Gengar and Dusknoir to open the Spirit World Passage. Grayish-purple mist flooded into the living world, and the Ghost type Pokémon gathered around it to absorb its energy.

  • Sableye and Mismagius’s Barrier shattered under Sceptile’s Leaf Storm, Petal Blizzard, and Gyarados’s Hydro Pump, but the remaining defenses blocked the attacks.
  • Gengar poured Ghost type energy underground with Gravity’s aid, and a crack opened at a depth of nine meters.
  • The crack widened into the Spirit World Passage, releasing deathly mist that withered the surrounding soil and dimmed the moonlight.
  • Hunter C’s Ghost type Pokémon rushed to the passage and greedily absorbed the mist.

Ch. 604Defense Mechanism of the Tree of Nature

Hunter C opened a passage to the Spirit World as his Pokémon protected him from its spreading death aura. The Tree of Nature activated its defense mechanism, purifying the aura, and the old forest ranger ordered everyone to attack.

  • Dusknoir formed a protective Barrier around Hunter C while Gengar emerged from the Spirit World Passage and received his faint praise.
  • Hunter E flew higher on Braviary as she and Hydreigon watched the Spirit World's mist spread across the area.
  • The old forest ranger confronted Hunter C, who admitted he had opened the passage because it was his only option to obtain Celebi.
  • The Tree of Nature awakened and sent emerald motes to purify the death aura, restoring the damaged ground and plants.
  • The old forest ranger recognized the Tree of Nature's defense mechanism and ordered everyone to attack.

Ch. 605Celebi

Celebi remained asleep in the Tree of Nature as it resisted the Spirit World's deathly energy. Xinhai and his partners visited the Sceptile Tribe's ancestral valley, where Old Sceptile led them to a moss-covered platform and invited them to step onto it.

  • Celebi sensed danger but stayed asleep while the Tree of Nature's vitality clashed with the Spirit World's deathly energy.
  • Old Sceptile led Xinhai and his companions to a moonlit valley filled with trees that had once been members of the Sceptile Tribe.
  • Gardevoir explained that the valley was where the tribe honored its ancestors and prayed for their protection.
  • Old Sceptile asked Xinhai to bring his partners onto the platform at the valley's center, and Xinhai agreed.
  • Xinhai stepped onto the moss-covered platform, where a warm current of energy rose through him and Eevee sensed it too.

Ch. 606The Sceptile Tribe's Repayment

Xinhai released his companions on the platform as the Sceptile Tribe performed a solemn ceremony beneath the full moon. The valley’s trees sent Life Energy motes to the platform, beginning to heal and strengthen his Pokémon.

  • Xinhai released Charmander, Axew, Weedle, Milotic, and Golem beside him on the platform.
  • The Old Sceptile led the Sceptile, Grovyle, and Treecko in an ancient chant around the valley.
  • The valley’s trees released emerald motes that gathered into a glowing vortex above the platform.
  • A mote healed Charmander’s fatigue and hidden injuries and made his tail flame brighter and steadier.
  • Motes soothed Axew’s lingering injuries and strengthened her scales, while Weedle’s shell hardened and his dormant bloodline talent began to awaken.

Ch. 607Mt. Moon Side Story VII

Explosions and tremors threatened the Clefairy and Igglybuff gathered beneath the Giant Moon Stone, prompting two Clefable to protect them. A furious Clefable vanished toward the disturbance, where Graveler and an Onix stood beside a collapsed mine tunnel.

  • A sturdy Clefable surrounded each Clefairy and Igglybuff with a protective energy bubble and arranged them in a layered formation beneath its main Barrier.
  • A huge crystal boulder struck the main Barrier, which held firm as the tremors and explosions intensified.
  • A bad-tempered Clefable woke and vanished from the stone platform after seeing the cavern wall shake, while the eldest Clefable let it go.
  • Twelve kilometers away, Graveler and an Onix gathered around a collapsed cave wall amid smoke and rubble.
  • The largest Graveler roared and struck the wall, angry that an explosion had interrupted its evolution after two months of preparation.

Ch. 608Xinhai Breaks Through the Three Gates, Celebi Awakens

Emerald-green Life Energy healed and strengthened Xinhai and his Pokémon as Xinhai broke through the Three Gates. Celebi awakened inside the Tree of Nature and vanished after sensing an unusual energy near the Sceptile Tribe's Sacred Land.

Ch. 609One Not of This World

After absorbing the Life Energy at the Sceptile Tribe's Sacred Land, Xinhai encountered Celebi, which recognized that he was not from this world. Celebi enclosed them in a bubble to question him, while Eevee anxiously watched from outside.

  • The Life Energy ritual ended, and Xinhai sensed that his body and senses had grown stronger.
  • Celebi appeared on Xinhai's shoulder, drawing reverent reactions from the Sceptile Tribe and Old Sceptile.
  • Celebi encased itself and Xinhai in an emerald bubble, shielding them from the others.
  • Celebi asked Xinhai if he was from another world, leaving him shocked that his secret had been exposed.
  • Eevee reached the bubble and anxiously tried to get to Xinhai, but the barrier kept it out.

Ch. 610Xinhai and Celebi's Conversation

Celebi revealed that Xinhai’s soul came from another world, and Xinhai admitted he had crossed over from a world without Pokémon. He began telling Celebi about the ordinary life he had left behind, while his companions kept watch outside the barrier.

  • Eevee and the other Pokémon gathered around the barrier until Old Sceptile reassured them that Celebi meant no harm.
  • Celebi touched Xinhai’s brow and showed him the lights of Pokémon souls, including his own golden soul among his companions’ souls.
  • Celebi explained that Xinhai’s soul carried the aura of another world and that his recent change had drawn its attention.
  • Xinhai admitted he was not from this world and described the ordinary world he had left, including its cities, family, friends, and seasons.
  • Celebi listened and told Xinhai that his former world did not sound so ordinary, and Xinhai agreed.

Ch. 611Celebi Leaves

Celebi reassured Xinhai that his bonds with his Pokémon meant he belonged in the Pokémon world, and promised to keep his secret. After Xinhai reunited with his worried companions, Celebi left to deal with the bad guys at the Tree of Nature, leaving him watching her disappear into the forest.

  • Celebi told Xinhai that his bonds with his companions connected him to the Pokémon world and promised their secret would remain between them.
  • The emerald bubble shattered, and Xinhai's companions rushed to comfort him and make sure he was safe.
  • Celebi grew sleepy and told Xinhai she needed to deal with the bad guys at the Tree of Nature.
  • Xinhai thanked Celebi, and she flew away toward the Tree of Nature before vanishing into the moonlit forest.
  • Xinhai watched the place where Celebi had disappeared for a long time.

Ch. 612Taming Grovyle

Xinhai thanked Old Sceptile and decided to visit the Tree of Nature, but the Grovyle he had saved asked to join him so he could grow strong enough to protect his people. After Xinhai caught and released Grovyle, Grovyle said goodbye to his clan and set out to meet them.

  • Xinhai thanked Old Sceptile for the gift and said he planned to visit the Tree of Nature despite Old Sceptile's warning that the battle there would soon end.
  • Grovyle approached Xinhai and asked to join him so he could become stronger and protect his people.
  • Xinhai offered to catch Grovyle, and Grovyle touched the Great Ball to enter it willingly.
  • Xinhai released Grovyle and told him to say goodbye to his clan.
  • Grovyle thanked Old Sceptile and his clan, and Old Sceptile gently blessed his departure.

Ch. 613Sceptile's Mega Stone

As Grovyle prepared to leave its clan, Old Sceptile gave it a Sceptile Mega Evolution Stone that had been with it since its travels with a Trainer. Grovyle absorbed the stone into its body and left the valley with Xinhai, while Xinhai decided to keep their plans for Mega Evolution cautious and private.

  • The injured Sceptile, the clan, and the smallest Treecko said goodbye to Grovyle.
  • Old Sceptile offered Grovyle a dark green stone that Xinhai recognized as likely being Sceptile's Mega Evolution Stone.
  • Gardevoir translated Old Sceptile's account of finding the stone during an adventure with its former Trainer and keeping it for many years.
  • Xinhai confirmed the stone's significance, returned it to Grovyle, and told Grovyle to keep it safe.
  • Grovyle wrapped the stone in Grass-type energy and absorbed it into its body, where it began pulsing beside its heart.
  • Xinhai considered Mega Evolution and the risks of revealing the stone, then led Grovyle and the others away from the valley.

Ch. 614Mt. Moon Side Story VIII

A faint sound wave drove the Rock and Ground type Pokémon in Mt. Moon into a scarlet frenzy, making them attack one another. Clefable appeared and unleashed its Confusion to stop the attackers, leaving the Pokémon crashing into the cavern walls.

  • An inaudible sound wave passed through the cavern and froze the enraged Rock and Ground type Pokémon before their eyes turned scarlet.

Ch. 615Betrayal a Thousand Years Ago

Arceus’s thousand-year rage over Damos’s betrayal was briefly interrupted by a distant human soul carrying pure Qi from another world, but its sorrow and anger quickly returned. Its fury stirred the Origin of Creation, sending subtle disturbances across the Pokémon world, while the scene shifted to the Time-Space Instrument in the Michina Ruins.

  • Arceus slept in the Origin of Creation, burdened by memories of Damos’s betrayal a thousand years earlier.
  • Arceus sensed a faint ripple from the Pokémon world as a human soul underwent a transformation.
  • The ripple briefly stilled Arceus’s rage, but memories of the betrayal soon overwhelmed it again.
  • Arceus’s fury accelerated the golden energy currents, sending subtle disturbances through the Pokémon world.
  • The narration shifted to the Michina Ruins, where the Time-Space Instrument rested on the altar.

Ch. 616Arceus Awakens

Sheena saw the Time-Space Instrument react violently to a disturbance from the Origin of Creation and realized that Arceus had awakened after a thousand years. Meanwhile, the old ranger’s team held off Hunter C and Hunter E’s Ghost-type assault, but the Spirit World Passage continued feeding their Pokémon deathly energy.

  • The Time-Space Instrument lit up and began to hum as fluctuations from the Origin of Creation reached the Michina Ruins.
  • Sheena rushed to the altar, saw the instrument’s violent reaction, and declared that Arceus had awakened.
  • The old ranger warned Hunter C that the Spirit World’s deathly aura would kill him within three days, but Toure vowed to live forever.
  • Hunter C’s Ghost-type Pokémon and Hunter E’s Hydreigon and Braviary attacked the old ranger’s formation.

  • Hunter C briefly coveted Celebi’s Life Energy but abandoned the thought when Celebi’s indifferent gaze made him realize he was no match for it.

Ch. 618Celebi's Strength

Celebi sealed the Spirit World Passage with its spatial power, wiping out most of Hunter C’s Ghost-type Pokémon. Hunter E escaped with Braviary using a single-use Escape Rope, leaving the old ranger to face Hunter C.

  • Celebi used its spatial power to close the Spirit World Passage and restore the torn dimensional boundaries.
  • Dozens of Ghost-type Pokémon were swallowed as the passage closed, while several Elite level Pokémon escaped the spatial ripples.
  • Hunter E recalled Hydreigon and Whimsicott, then used an Escape Rope to vanish with Braviary.
  • The old ranger watched Hunter E escape and turned his attention to Hunter C.

Ch. 619Hunter C's Final Counterattack

After Hunter C's plan failed and his Ghost-type Pokémon were lost, he ordered his remaining Elite-level Pokémon to launch a final assault on Celebi. Their coordinated attacks converged on Celebi as Banette prepared its move.

  • Hunter C, driven mad by his losses and having no escape, ordered his Pokémon to attack Celebi together.
  • Gengar and Dusknoir merged into a colossal shadow, which Mismagius strengthened with her runes before it fired beams of ghostly light at Celebi.
  • Chandelure added its dark flame to the beams, amplifying their power as they raced toward Celebi.
  • Sableye unleashed its fused Disable and Quash move, sending an invisible net of energy toward Celebi.
  • Banette gathered ghostly energy and shaped it into fine needles.

Ch. 620Curses and Energy Ball

Banette used Cursed Needles against the old ranger, but Exeggutor and Milotic protected him with three layers of Safeguard. Celebi gathered a powerful Energy Ball, leaving Hunter C terrified behind Dusknoir’s barrier.

  • Banette stabbed its own body with Ghost-type energy needles to curse the old ranger.
  • The old ranger realized he was the target and ordered Exeggutor and Milotic to cast Safeguard, blocking the spreading Cursed Needles.
  • Hunter C lamented that the old ranger was difficult to kill as the old ranger faced him without replying.
  • Celebi summoned energy from across the Nature Domain and formed a glowing Energy Ball in its palm.

  • Clefable expanded its Inner Focus and sensed an approaching Elite-level Golem, distant battles, and thousands of Pokémon within Mt. Moon.

Ch. 622Hunter C's Death

Celebi’s Energy Ball overwhelmed Hunter C’s Shadow Ball and engulfed him and his six Ghost-type Pokémon. When the emerald energy faded, Hunter C and the Pokémon were gone, leaving a vast, smooth crater.

  • Celebi sent a slowly drifting Energy Ball that erased Hunter C’s dark-purple beams.
  • Hunter C’s demonic shadow launched a massive Shadow Ball, but the Energy Ball consumed its energy and unleashed an expanding emerald flood.
  • Hunter C ordered protection as Gengar, Dusknoir, Mismagius, Sableye, Banette, and Chandelure raised layered Protect Barriers.
  • The emerald flood shattered the barriers and swallowed Hunter C and all six Ghost-type Pokémon.
  • The energy dissipated, revealing a smooth, hundred-meter-wide crater with no trace of Hunter C or his Pokémon.

Ch. 623Nature Domain Closure

Celebi announced that the Nature Domain would close completely for a year so it could recover ahead of a coming crisis, then the Tree of Nature transported everyone out to Route 120. Xinhai emerged in the forest and realized they had left the Domain.

  • Exeggutor and the old ranger looked over the empty crater as Celebi watched from above.
  • Celebi told the old ranger that the Nature Domain would seal for a year and warned that the Pokémon world might soon face a tremendous crisis.

  • Xinhai appeared beneath an oak tree, checked his surroundings, and concluded that they had been transported out.

Ch. 624Support From All Sides

After the Nature Domain closed, Xinhai reunited with his Pokémon and headed to support Rangers fighting poachers. The nearest battle was already over, and he accompanied three Rangers to another site, where the fight had also ended.

  • Gardevoir located and teleported Blaziken, Mightyena, Linoone, Krokorok, and Grovyle back to Xinhai.
  • Xinhai decided to help the Rangers and led his companions toward the nearest sounds of battle, with Mightyena tracking the way.

Ch. 626A Tremendous Haul

After the rescue, Xinhai settled into a Ranger camp and reviewed his rewards, including Grovyle joining his team and 29,400 League Points. He also examined the changes in his Qi after breaking through the Three Gates and receiving the Sceptile Tribe’s gift, but did not yet know what those changes would bring.

  • A young Ranger led Xinhai to a tent where he settled in for the morning with Eevee.
  • Xinhai released Gardevoir and Mightyena to guard the tent, then reviewed his League Points and his Pokémon team’s new addition, Grovyle.
  • Xinhai considered Grovyle’s moves, its proximity to evolving into Sceptile, and the Mega Stone entrusted to it by Old Sceptile.
  • Xinhai meditated on his Qi and noticed a faint green trace blended into its milky-white color, which he suspected came from the Sceptile Tribe’s gift.
