Xinhai kept the secret of Grovyle’s unusual abilities from his companions, then entered the second round of the tournament against Seiji Ikeda and his Espeon. The chapter ended as Seiji opened the battle with Yawn.

Xinhai’s Grovyle used Screech and Detect to outmaneuver Aoi Takeshita’s Breloom, then trapped it with vine-growing Bullet Seed. Grovyle charged at the restrained Breloom as Aoi tried to order a counterattack.

• Breloom and Grovyle clashed with combined attacks, locking their blades in a deadlock.

An Elite-level Kabutops led a group of Kabutops toward the source of growing tremors in Mt. Moon. In a deep stone forest, falling stalactites struck a sleeping giant Golem and woke it, leaving it roaring as its immense Presence shook the cavern.

• An enraged Kabutops used a piercing cry to subdue the surrounding Kabutops.
• Kabutops led more than a dozen followers toward the source of the tremors.
• Tremors from a battle shook the stone forest where a giant Golem slept.
• A falling stalactite struck Golem but shattered without harming it.
• Golem awakened, released a terrifying Presence, and roared.

Ryosuke Onodera, Yuma Kamiya, and Misaki Takahashi won their third-round battles, advancing to the final four. The semifinal draw paired Xinhai with Yuma Kamiya and Ryosuke with Rika Yuzuki, while Misaki received a bye to the finals.

• Xinhai had Gardevoir restore Grovyle's strength while Ryosuke Onodera defeated Ichiro Tanaka's Machoke with Electabuzz.
