After a curse drew him into a clash with Zack's gang and a Vampire, Hill recruited him as a Demon Hunter and gave him an incomplete transformation potion, while Pulis continued seeking his blood.

• Evan woke in 1910 in a sick, impoverished body, discovered the Nine Dragons Panel could reverse the side effects of drugs, and began using it to survive.
• Evan took Professor Pulis's experimental potions, recovered strength and mental clarity, and worked at Bryce Transport Company as the medicines enhanced his body.
• Evan fought back against Kevins Lebon's bullying at Sage University, and Pulis learned that Evan had acquired a Sanguine Beyonder Characteristic without mutating.
• Evan discovered that Mary had taken his money, threw her out, and recognized a string of accidents as a possible Misfortune Curse.
• Evan fought Zack's gang at an abandoned factory, where a Vampire attacked the gang before Evan encountered Hill, who staged his rescue and lifted the curse.
• Hill offered Evan a place among the Demon Hunters, transferred her Master's Beyonder Characteristic to him, and promised to watch over him as he began transforming.
• Lebon's curse rebounded and killed him, while Pulis ordered his associates to keep obtaining Evan's blood and investigate the Arkham Family.

Evan endured dangerous drug trials and attacks while the Demon Hunter Characteristic transformed him. After defeating Pulis’s assistant and completing his transformation, he joined Richard and learned more about the factions and his new profession.

• Evan joined Yuri’s trial of the B Virus, reversed its harmful effects, and developed the Copper Plague after combining it with the Copper Pill.
• Tom MacRae confronted Evan over Jimmy Lebon’s death, then offered him part-time work at the MacRae Detective Agency.
• Evan’s classmate Gilbert transformed into an Incomplete Bloodthirsty Beast, and Evan subdued him and took his potions.
• Pulis targeted Evan with a Diluted Transformation Potion, but Richard Tyson arrived and revealed himself as Evan’s Eldest Senior Brother.
• Pulis’s assistant abducted Evan, who used a Blood-Burning Potion and his toxic blood to weaken her before killing her.
• Evan’s hunt completed the Demon Hunter Characteristic’s digestion, removing his illnesses and awakening new abilities, including a controllable Secondary Brain.
• Hong Si and Richard helped deal with the assistant’s remains, while Richard gave Evan the Bloodthirsty Species’ Beyonder Characteristic and warned him about Beyonder Contracts.
• Pulis was seized by an unseen Judge after trying to give his heart to Eldin, and Richard explained the Community Watch Team and the Demon Hunter profession to Evan.

Evan embraced his Bloodthirsty Species and Copper Plague transformations, joined Miskatonic University as an investigator, and entered the Hurst family’s orbit while investigating Botis Alcott. After Albert betrayed him, Evan killed Alcott and his followers, but Alcott’s corpse merged with theirs into a flesh giant that attacked him.

• Evan accepted the Stage One Bloodthirsty Species transformation, gaining greater strength, rapid healing, and a craving for blood.
• Evan defeated a group of Gus Gang troublemakers and traveled to New Haven, where he recognized Alcott’s influence over the Phoenix Brotherhood and met the Hurst family’s staff.
• Evan resisted a cursed Healing Church incense burner as Copper Plague consumed its curse, then confronted a Ghoul who sought Miss Hurst’s help against the Sapp Mining Group.
• Evan secured a five-percent stake in the Ghoul family’s company, absorbed more Copperization Curses, and unlocked Stage One of Copper Plague.
• Hill introduced Evan to Doctor Armitage, who hired him as an investigator, instructed him to investigate Alcott, and gave him guidance, a talisman, and four potions.
• Evan activated his Copper transformation and learned its effects, then accepted Albert’s invitation to walk and followed him to a factory where Alcott’s men were waiting.
• Albert drugged and attacked Evan, but Evan killed him, resisted Alcott’s Desire Manipulation, and killed Alcott and the attackers who tried to shoot him.
• Evan killed Dennis, then discovered that Alcott’s corpse had merged with the other bodies into a flesh giant, and Evan drank Gecko and Lion Potions and fought back after the giant broke his arm.

Evan killed Alcott, uncovered a dangerous infection spreading through Bolton City, and developed the Copper Plague while learning to brew and combine Magic Potions. After advancing his abilities and helping Richard, he fought Connor Elton and survived an attack that left Connor dead and his apartment exposed.

• Evan chased down and killed Botis Alcott, recovered the One-Ninth Silver Key, and convinced the Authorities that he had fought cultists.
• Evan returned to Bolton City, investigated an infectious drug, and advanced the Copper Plague by absorbing pathogens from a thief, rats, Carey, and N'yogtha's Servant.
• Evan killed Carey and Lily, reached the Copper Plague's complete effect, and learned to refine pathogens and turn them into the Plague of Copper.
• Evan started studying alchemy under Doctor Freim, drank the Focus Potion, and used the Copper Plague to cure Parker and remove a Beyonder virus from Richard.
• Evan appraised and merged the One-Ninth Silver Key, then injected Daylight, Light, and Bloodthirsty Species potions, evolving into the Cain Bloodthirsty Species after resisting the Moon Spirit Hair.
• Evan fought Connor Elton and his five Copper Men after they came looking for Richard, and Connor died when the infections in his body overwhelmed him.
• Evan disposed of the contaminated soil and Copper Men remains in the ocean, returned to Gooding Street, and found his apartment window shattered.
