Kaido was previously captured by the Marines and sent to the World Government’s Science Unit for experimentation. Despite repeated captures and attempts on his life, the Marines lacked a reliable means to execute him; he would ultimately escape. 29 30

He developed a notorious habit of invading powerful factions alone in pursuit of a violent death, including repeated “suicide” incursions into Marine Headquarters. His reputation for surviving torture, combat, and execution attempts underpins his status as the world’s “Strongest Creature.” 29 30 38

Kaido crashes into Marine Headquarters in Azure Dragon Form during another apparent suicide attempt. His drunken breath disorients nearby Marines, prompting Akainu to attack him with magma. 29 30

He battles Akainu across the devastated plaza, using Bolo Breath, Thunder Bagua, and immense physical force. After forcing Akainu back, he provocatively calls for Aokiji and Garp to join the fight. 30

Battle Against the Droplet

Kizaru arrives at Marineford riding Lynn’s newly delivered Droplet and deploys it against Kaido. Kaido initially dismisses the small machine, but its speed, maneuverability, and extreme hardness quickly force him to take the battle seriously. 31 32
