Society and Power Structure

• Wuzhou City is dominated by the Li, Wu, and Yu Families, collectively known as its Three Great Families. Each maintains a King Tier expert, allowing them to rule the city for centuries. 4

Blood Souls and cultivation

• Martial cultivation is built around Blood Soul Power, a second soul derived from one’s bloodline. Stronger bloodlines generally grant faster cultivation and greater potential. 1 4
• The Spirit Martial Rank is the foundation of cultivation and has nine levels. Those who surpass it enter the Innate Realm as King Tier experts. 6
• Within Wuzhou City, the Three Great Families hold most high-grade Yellow Tier cultivation methods and combat techniques; Mystic Tier arts are largely rumored rather than confirmed. 5
• A Martial Dao Master is a seventh- or eighth-level Spirit Martial cultivator, while a ninth-level cultivator is a Martial Dao Grandmaster. 37 38

Resources and scarcity

• Wuzhou City has no known alchemist, making Yellow Tier medicinal pills extremely valuable. 43
• Master Tie is the city’s only Artifact Refiner and is known for forging Yellow Tier weapons. 43

Annual Events

Lineage gatherings

Each year, large and small Lineages summon their descendants back to Wuzhou City to assess the younger generation’s progress and display their strength. Descendants who fail to improve sufficiently may be expelled or abandoned outside their Lineage. 4 8

• The gathering is the city’s liveliest period, drawing returning descendants, visitors, and Rogue Cultivators. 8
• For many banished descendants, it is their only opportunity to return openly and compete for a place within their Lineage. 8
• The Li Family’s Year-End Martial Contest includes Black Obsidian tests and Inner Disciple ranking battles that determine access to resources and martial techniques. 18 32 38

Genius Summit

The Genius Summit is Wuzhou City’s largest annual competition for young cultivators. It has evolved from a sparring event into a contest of influence among the city’s major powers. 42 49

• Li Kainian — Former Li Family head and a peerless prodigy whose rise once made the Li Family the strongest of the Three Great Families. His disappearance weakened that advantage. 1 9 49
• Li Mo — Li Family chief disciple and one of Wuzhou City’s Four Great Geniuses; a Spirit Martial Tier Nine Martial Dao Grandmaster before age twenty. 37 38
• Wu Batian — Wu Family genius famed for innate divine strength and for defeating a Martial Dao Grandmaster while at Spirit Martial Tier Eight. 49

• Li Ye transmigrates into the body of the exiled Li Family descendant in Wuzhou City, where he is widely known as a useless young master unable to awaken a Blood Soul. 1
• His public battle with Li Yue at Virtue Moon Tower overturns his reputation. Rumors of the battle spread through the city within half a day and grow increasingly exaggerated. 11 14
• Li Ye returns to the Li Family’s Year-End Martial Contest, leaves a fist imprint in Black Obsidian nearly as deep as Li Kainian’s famous palm print, and later rises to seventh among the Inner Disciples. 20 38
• Before the Genius Summit, Wu Hao’s provocation of the Li Family exposes heightened hostility between the city’s Three Great Families. Li Ye defeats Wu Hao after breaking through to Spirit Martial Tier Six. 45 46 47
• The Genius Summit begins amid concern that the Wu and Yu Families may be coordinating against the Li Family. Three unidentified experts capable of traveling through the air arrive and are received with exceptional deference by the family heads. 49 50
