Position in the Li Family

Inner Disciples rank above Outer Disciples and ordinarily receive treatment equal to that of main-branch young masters and young ladies. Exceptional Inner Disciples may receive even better treatment, though they remain beneath the family elders in authority 22.

Promotion and Ranking System

Entry Challenges

After the elimination rounds, the top hundred contestants become Outer Disciples. To earn a challenge against an Inner Disciple, a new Outer Disciple must first achieve ten consecutive victories in the Outer Disciple matches. 25 26

A successful challenger takes the defeated disciple’s position. This allows even lower-realm contestants with unusual strength or superior techniques to enter the thirty-member Inner Disciple ranks. 26 32

Internal Ranking Battles

Once the thirty positions are established, each Inner Disciple receives up to three challenges against higher-ranked members. Winners take their opponent’s rank, while the defeated member drops accordingly. 32

• Lower-ranked members generally initiate the ranking battles first. 33
• The top ten are substantially stronger than the remaining twenty; during the contest, most of the lower twenty were at peak Spirit Martial Tier Six. 32 38

Combat Standard

Inner Disciples are not merely ceremonial elites. Even those near the bottom of the rankings can be dangerous combatants.

• The 26th-ranked Li Wei possessed peak Spirit Martial Tier Six cultivation and the high-grade Yellow-tier Gale Legs, allowing him to contend with ordinary Tier Seven experts. 25 26
• High-grade Yellow-tier techniques are uncommon even among Inner Disciples; many disciples lack the cultivation level or Blood Soul power to use them effectively. 30 31
• Spirit Martial Tier Seven marks the level of a Martial Master, while Tier Eight is associated with Martial Dao Masters and Tier Nine with Martial Dao Grandmasters. 32 37
• The strongest Inner Disciples can rival ordinary family elders in combat power. 24 30

• Inner Disciple status can elevate a collateral-branch descendant to standing equal to that of the main branch, making the rank one of the few formal paths through the Li Family’s lineage hierarchy. 22
