When Heimdall approached, Odin immediately waved away the women beside him and sat up straight.
He knew that unless it was something important, Heimdall would never interrupt his enjoyment.
Heimdall came before Odin, dropped to one knee, and said respectfully, "Allfather, I have made a major discovery."
After speaking, he glanced at the people nearby who had not yet had time to leave.
The matter was too important. Before knowing what the Allfather intended, he did not want a third party to learn of it.
At this moment, the dancers and beauties around them were still slowly leaving. A few of them even cast flirtatious looks at Heimdall, but he ignored them all.
In Heimdall's heart, there was only loyalty to Allfather Odin, nothing else.
It was precisely because of this that Loki had once regarded him with such wariness and had even wanted to get rid of him.
Odin merely nodded faintly and urged the women around him to leave quickly.
After a while, he asked solemnly, "What is it?"
Heimdall's golden eyes flickered. After confirming that no one was eavesdropping, he said gravely, "At the edge of the Milky Way, I saw unfamiliar Spaceships. There are at least ten thousand of them."
At the mention of unfamiliar Spaceships, Odin immediately frowned.
"Ten thousand unfamiliar Spaceships have appeared? Didn't we seal all the Wormholes? How did they get in?"
Heimdall shook his head. "I don't know. A new wormhole may have appeared, or they possess technology or magic capable of interstellar travel. Please make a decision quickly, Allfather. I have a feeling they have come with hostile intentions."
Though his divine power was formidable and his golden eyes were said to monitor the Nine Realms, that was all they could monitor—the Nine Realms. Naturally, they could not watch over the entire Milky Way.
After all, the Milky Way had a diameter of roughly one hundred thousand light-years. If he were that powerful, Odin would not be the Allfather.
Thus, he did not know when those unfamiliar Spaceships had appeared, nor how they had arrived.
Odin lowered his head in thought.
What changes would these newly appeared Spaceships bring?
Since taking control of the Milky Way, he had implemented a policy of isolation in order to stabilize his rule, ordering every Wormhole destroyed.
Yes, Wormholes could be artificially closed. It simply consumed a great deal of energy.
And after more than a thousand years of rule, the Milky Way was no longer as chaotic as it had once been.
Now, the Asgardian Gods stood alone at the top. No other force could contend with them.
If they could learn how the other side had arrived, whether through Wormholes or technology, perhaps Asgard could expand its territory.
But when he thought of his son's foolish, crude nature, he could only shake his head helplessly and abandon the thought.
He was already old. If his successor lacked brains, no matter how vast an empire he built, it could not be preserved.
Originally, he had arranged for the Valkyries to assist Thor. Unfortunately, that foolish son of his was not only foolish but also had ideas of his own, and he simply would not follow Odin's arrangements.
So the most urgent matter now was ensuring that Thor could smoothly inherit power.
After a while, Odin raised his head. Seeing Heimdall still kneeling there respectfully, he felt somewhat comforted.
"Since enemies have appeared, what are we waiting for? Gather all warriors! Drive out the invaders and defend the Nine Realms!"
After saying that, he rose solemnly. Gungnir instantly appeared in his hand, while his battle robes slowly manifested around him.
For a moment, Odin looked imposing and majestic, carrying much of the grandeur he had possessed in his youth.
Of course, it would have been even better if he had put on pants.
Beside a Wormhole in the Milky Way.
More than two thousand Spaceships were quietly parked there.
A distant star continuously radiated light, struggling to illuminate this stretch of space.
Thanos sat upon the throne aboard Sanctuary II, stroking the Mind Stone in his hand.
Below the throne, a burly red-skinned alien with two horns protruding from his head knelt respectfully.
The alien's gaze toward Thanos was filled with boundless fanaticism and worship.
In fact, if Thanos ordered him to kill himself now, he would do so without hesitation.
That was because Thanos had used the Mind Stone to turn him into his most devout follower, even more devout than the Black Order.
This was far more effective than Loki's use of the stone to control Hawkeye in the first Avengers movie.
As one of the six Infinity Stones, the Mind Stone's power had actually failed after someone hit its wielder a couple of times. It was simply ridiculous.
Just then, a projection suddenly appeared in midair.
The figure was tall and powerfully built, even taller than Thanos. His body was packed with explosive muscles, and he looked even more intimidating than Thanos.
His dark gray skin and pitch-black armor made him appear majestic and formidable.
Yet at this moment, he was respectfully kneeling on one knee before Thanos.
Because he was Cull Obsidian, one of the Black Order's five generals.
"My lord, our reconnaissance ships have discovered a large number of unfamiliar Spaceships."
Upon hearing this, Thanos's eyes immediately lit up.
"Oh? It seems that old fool Odin has finally run out of patience."
A faint smile appeared at the corner of his lips.
In the Milky Way, the only one capable of fielding a massive fleet of Spaceships was Asgard.
Although the movies had not explained the war between Thanos and Odin, he could guess the result without seeing it.
Thanos must have been driven back in disgrace. That was why he later thought of using Loki to invade Earth and obtain the other Infinity Stones.
Even after the mission failed and the Mind Stone was lost, Thanos had not dared to make any move.
Only after Odin died did Thanos immediately invade the Milky Way, beat Thor senseless, and invade Earth.
But he was not the Thanos from the movies. He was Thanos, a transmigrator with a system.
So he was not afraid of Odin appearing. Instead, he was afraid that Odin would hide.
The Milky Way was too vast. If he had to search every Fixed Star system one by one for Asgard, he had no idea how long it would take.
But now that Odin had taken the initiative to appear, it could not have been better.
At that thought, excitement flashed across his face, but he still asked cautiously, "How many Spaceships has the other side brought?"
Cull Obsidian immediately looked to the subordinate beside him. Only after a moment did he answer, "My lord, roughly twenty-five thousand. However, they are all small, medium, and large Spaceships. No Titan-class Spaceships have been detected."
His mind was not particularly sharp. He had relied entirely on his brutal physical strength to become one of the Black Order's five generals, and his strength also ranked at the bottom among the five.
Thus, whenever he was questioned, he needed the subordinate beside him to prompt him before he could provide detailed figures.
Thanos stroked his purple-striped chin with his left hand and began to think.
Twenty-five thousand ships. Odin truly controlled the entire Milky Way, so the resources in his hands were no joke. But there were no Titan-class Spaceships. Had Asgard fallen behind technologically after being cut off from broader galactic society for too long?
After a while, he raised his head and said solemnly, "Everyone, prepare yourselves. A great battle is about to begin."
