The fourth day arrived quickly.
Everything was ready on the eve of war.
Proxima Midnight came to Sanctuary once again to request an audience with Thanos.
It was still the same gravity chamber, but the gravity had now been raised to twelve hundred times normal.
Thanos was lifting a barbell marked at two hundred tons, doing weight training.
Under twelve hundred times gravity, the two-hundred-ton barbell had reached a weight of two hundred and forty thousand tons.
Yet in his hands, it was as easy to lift as an ordinary barbell.
"Four hundred thirty-two... four hundred thirty-three..."
At that moment, the door opened again.
This time, Proxima Midnight had learned her lesson. Rather than entering immediately, she knelt on one knee outside the door and said respectfully, "My lord."
Hearing that, Thanos set down the barbell and said in a deep voice, "Deep Blue, shut down the gravity system."
"Yes, Master."
Proxima Midnight rose, entered the room, then knelt on one knee before Thanos again and lowered her proud head.
Thanos wiped the sweat from his body and asked, "Are Sanctuary II and the Black Order ready?"
Proxima Midnight raised her head. Looking at her lord's powerful physique and muscles brimming with strength, worship filled her eyes. "Everything is ready. We await your command."
Thanos nodded and said coldly, "Since everything is ready, depart."
Ice Crystal Planet was a world filled with white.
Because it lay too far from its star, the temperature remained below zero year-round, leaving the ground covered in white frost and snow.
The people living there were called the Ice People, a race with white bodies, four arms, and two legs.
Although the Ice People possessed powerful physiques and remarkable combat skills,
their culture was unfortunately still stuck in a primitive society.
At this moment, the Ice People's chieftain was organizing his people to prepare a lavish lunch for the hero who had saved them.
She was a beautiful white woman with short golden hair. Yes, she was also from Blue Star, and her name was Carol Danvers.
Captain Marvel
Perhaps few people recognized that name, but everyone certainly knew her nickname: Captain Marvel.
After Captain Marvel defeated the Kree fleet on Blue Star, she began roaming the universe, fighting for justice.
She had originally been active only within the Milky Way, but after accidentally hearing of Thanos's infamy, she came to the Panlong Galaxy.
Unexpectedly, shortly after arriving, she encountered Thanos's subordinates attacking another planet. Believing herself to stand for justice, she naturally stepped forward without hesitation and drove back Thanos's forces.
"Thank you so much for saving us."
The Ice People's chieftain stood roughly two meters tall. Holding two wine cups in his four hands, he offered a toast to Captain Marvel, who was only as tall as his chest.
Raising cups with all four hands was the highest courtesy of the Ice People.
Captain Marvel merely smiled faintly, took the raised cup, and drained it in one gulp.
"You're welcome. It was my duty."
Seeing this, the Ice People's chieftain immediately raised his cup again, drained it as well, and shouted, "A toast to our hero!"
The surrounding Ice People immediately raised their cups and shouted along with him.
"A toast to our hero!"
Before long, the celebration officially began. The Ice People sang and danced, and quite a few who considered themselves handsome came over to invite Captain Marvel to dance, but she politely declined them all.
Although she believed she represented justice, she looked down on these Ice People, whose civilization had not even reached the Middle Ages, from the bottom of her heart.
Naturally, she had no intention of dancing with them.
And so, the entire day passed amid the celebration.
The next day, while Captain Marvel was still groggy with sleep, an Ice Person burst into her room in a panic.
Calling it a room was generous; it was merely an igloo made of ice blocks, and it did not even have a door.
"Hero! Hero! This is bad, huff... those bad people are back! They're huge!"
Captain Marvel immediately opened her eyes and sat up.
She did not waste any words. Rainbow light flashed across her body as she flew straight outside.
But in the very next second, her eyes widened in disbelief.
"Oh my God!"
An unimaginably enormous spacecraft had appeared in outer space.
It was simply too massive. In all her years wandering the universe, this was the first time she had seen a warship comparable in size to the moon.
"Where are my weapons?"
"My armor! Hurry!"
"The enemy is here! Everyone, gather!"
The surrounding Ice People were running about in panic. Some searched for weapons, while others looked for armor.
The revelry of the previous night had left many of them groggy, completely unprepared for this.
After a while, the Ice People's chieftain flew over with a panicked expression as well.
"Hero, what should we do?"
Captain Marvel came back to her senses and said gravely, "Gather the warriors and follow after me. I'll go up and take a look first."
With that, rainbow light flashed over her body again, and she shot into the sky at incredible speed.
At this moment, in outer space,
Proxima Midnight, who was in the control room of Sanctuary II, immediately spotted the brilliantly colored Captain Marvel on the three-dimensional display.
But compared with her earlier panic, she was much calmer this time.
"My lord, that's the one who destroyed my fleet and killed my soldiers."
Thanos had been sitting on his throne with his eyes closed in meditation. Hearing Proxima Midnight's words, he opened them.
Seeing that familiar yet unfamiliar figure on the screen, he began pondering who she was.
He had come to this world more than five hundred years ago. He had long forgotten most of the movies he had watched before.
Yet her entrance seemed very familiar, as though he had seen it somewhere before.
After a while, as she drew closer and closer, he finally found information about her deep within his memories.
"Captain Marvel?"
That was right. Only that proud and arrogant Captain Marvel would make such a flashy, rainbow-colored entrance.
Hearing that name, Proxima Midnight immediately nodded. "Yes, yes. When I fought her before, I think she said her name was Captain Marvel."
Thanos fell into deep thought.
After seeing Captain Marvel, memories from before his transmigration began gradually surfacing.
Now that Captain Marvel had appeared, it meant the Marvel world's storyline had already begun.
Blue Star—the homeland that felt strangely familiar to him—he wondered what it was like in this world.
Seconds passed, and before long, Captain Marvel flew out of Ice Crystal Planet and headed toward Sanctuary II at ten times the speed of sound. She was only a little over a thousand kilometers away from them.
In space, a distance of one thousand kilometers was practically face-to-face.
Seeing that Thanos was still lost in thought, Proxima Midnight could only speak softly. "My lord, what should we do?"
If the enemy had not nearly reached them, she would never have dared disturb her lord's contemplation.
After all, compared to Captain Marvel, her lord was the most terrifying existence in the universe.
Thanos returned from his memories, glanced at the screen, and said blandly, "Send the Black Order up to test her."
The Black Order was the core force in his hands and also his most loyal soldiers.
They had six arms, sharp fangs, jet-black skin, immense strength, no fear of death, and would never betray him.
If they had one flaw, it was that they possessed little intelligence.
Yes, "they," because the Black Order's bioengineered soldiers were produced from incubators and were not natural lifeforms.
As for why he wanted to test her, it was naturally to wear her down and probe her strength.
Though he was confident, he was not arrogant.
Charging in blindly without knowing an enemy's strength could be fatal if he encountered some unreasonable existence.
After all, the waters of the Marvel world ran very deep.
