A dull impact rang out.

Aggron's massive body slid more than ten meters backward, leaving a long gouge in the ground.

"Grrroar!"

It exhaled a puff of white air. A small fist-shaped dent marked its chest.

That was brutal!

Aggron looked at Mawile, who was smiling with her lips pressed together, and raised its thick tail.

The next instant,

a golden sheen covered its body. Rock-type energy surged into a roiling wave, making the air thunder as it charged forward!

Boom!!

Double-Edge!

"Chi-do!"

Mawile pushed off with her toes and shot skyward like a swallow taking flight. Aggron wheeled around, slammed its feet down, shattered the ground beneath it, and leaped after her.

But jumps had limits. Magnet Rise did not.

It couldn't catch Mawile and fell back down.

A huge cloud of dust spread outward in a circle.

Not far away,

Baimu waved away the dust rushing toward him and said to Steelix, "See? That's what happens when you can't learn Magnet Rise!"

To this day, the thing he understood least was why Aggron couldn't learn Magnet Rise.

The move was hard to draw, too.

It really had been slacking on its Magnet Rise training lately. At its height, plenty of Pokémon couldn't fly higher than it anyway. Did it really need the practice?

Besides, what Ground type didn't stay on the ground?

Steelix wasn't alone in thinking so. The other Pokémon had similar thoughts.

All except Hydreigon.

It had treated Aggron as its imagined opponent for years and knew exactly how cunning the Big Monster was.

Mawile could push it
