Make Him Remember It for the Rest of His Life
Lin En breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that everyone on the wrecked ship had been rescued.
Great, it will be useful in Thirty Days.
He could survive Thirty Days of attacks by those Cultists back then, and these Crew can too.
As long as you have the Immortality buff, you can retrieve everyone who gets blown away, without even missing limbs... or maybe they just grew back after being blown away.
However, after he breathed a sigh of relief, his brows furrowed again.
But this still won't work; relying on attrition like this is too passive.
He would occasionally switch to the Thirty Days mode, but if they were hit by an enemy shell during those few seconds of switching, the people on their ship would still die.
Moreover, this is space warfare; even if the ship is destroyed and the crew survives, it's still doomed to be captured by the enemy.
We need to think of another way.
Lin En frowned and slapped the Control Console.
Temporarily switch keywords.
[Machine Spirit Resonance].
The golden dotted line extended from the Black Goddess and swept across the Chaos Fleet ships.
Lin En attempts to control the Chaos ship.
His senses followed the dotted line to the other side, penetrating into the nearest Chaos Cruiser, and reaching the cluster of light and shadow deep within the ship's hull.
Then he opened his eyes, his brows furrowing even more deeply.
Those ships had already merged with the demons; their Machine Spirit had become demons themselves. Sensing Lin En's psionic energy probing in, they turned their featureless faces and let out a shriek at him.
The true Machine Spirit had been devoured by the demons, and the ship had grown together with things in the Warp, becoming a lump of rotten flesh.
There's no way to achieve Machine Spirit Resonance anymore.
It's hopeless.
never mind.
Switch to Dimensional Slash!
The Machine Spirit Resonance and sank, Dimensional Slash was activated.
Several fast-moving Chaos Cruisers had broken through to the front lines and were now surrounding a battleship of the Solar Fleet.
This distance is within the range that Dimensional Slash can reach.
Recently, the hull of that Chaos Cruiser suddenly and without warning split open from the middle, the crack running from the bow all the way to the stern.
The cruiser suddenly came to a stop, and then the entire ship began to disintegrate from the middle.
Those gleaming fine lines shattered into countless fragments.
The cross-section was clean and dry, with no fire, no explosion, nothing at all, only countless fragments tumbling and drifting in different directions, eventually disappearing into the endless universe.
There was no movement from the broken opening. The demon that had devoured the Machine Spirit was also shattered by the spatial rift and disappeared without even a sound.
Then came the second, the third, and the fourth.
Chop it up.
This can be considered as giving them some peace and quiet.
The Machine Spirit would probably be very happy to know.
Lin En glanced out the front window.
The Vengeful Spirit was still pressing in from afar, its dark red beams of light sweeping over us.
The Blood Angels ' thirty ships were entangled in battle with the Chaos Warship on the outer ring, with Dante's flagship at the forefront, its red hull blasted with several scorch marks, yet it continued to charge forward.
They also learned of the Emperor's blessing that granted them Immortality.
The morale of the Imperial Navy was greatly boosted.
The artillery fire intensified.
Dante led the Blood Angels strike group out from the outer edge of the asteroid belt, cutting in from the side behind the Chaos Vanguard.
The red warship sliced through the butter like a hot knife through butter, encircling the ten Chaos ships at the forefront.
Dante himself led the charge.
The Holy Blood Fleet charged into the Chaos Fleet, fully buffed, rampaging recklessly.
The Emperor's Blessing coated the cannons of every ship with a warm, bright hue. The cannons fired in unison, Lance flew everywhere, and sparks flew from the red hulls as the ships continued to charge forward. When the Shield shattered, the ships pushed their Engine to the red line and crashed into the Chaos Cruisers like madmen.
In less than ten minutes, the dozens of Chaos Cruisers and Destroyers that were at the forefront were reduced to scattered wreckage, tumbling and dispersing into the void.
The first wave of Chaos Vanguard was consumed.
Then the second wave came.
This time, it's the main force.
The Vengeful Spirit appears in the foreground.
Lin En stood on the bridge of the Night Goddess, watching the giant battleship press towards the Imperium's defensive line.
The skull and Chaos star emblem on the bow became clearer, and the Lupercal's Court on the stern stood tall, its stained-glass windows emitting an ominous dark red light.
Abaddon himself was on the bridge.
The Vengeful Spirit led the main force of the Black Legion, consisting of 150 ships, as they pressed forward.
Lin En stared at the ship for a while.
The Chaos Star on the bow burned in the void, with eight arrows pointing out in all directions from the skull symbol, their edges wrapped in dark red flames that flickered and licked at the hull.
The Black Legion's new symbol: hollow eye sockets embedded within the eight Chaos stars.
Red mist seeped from the hollow eye socket embedded in the middle, making it look like it was shedding tears of blood.
nausea.
The eyes are embedded within the eight stars of Chaos, signifying that they are the vanguard of Chaos Undivided, no longer merely the offspring of Horus.
nausea.
Horus would feel nauseous and vomit here.
Horus was ostensibly killed by the Emperor, but everyone actually knew who truly killed him.
A person who recognizes a thief as their father.
Lin En pulled over the communicator next to him and contacted Dante.
"Lord Dante, step back first. I'll clash with Abaddon first."
A muffled boom of artillery fire came from the other end of the communication line, followed by Dante's voice. Dante didn't want to go back; his words were rapid and urgent as he said, "Lord Lin En! We...!"
Lin En looked through the front window at the approaching Vengeful Spirit and said coldly, "Believe me, I will make him remember this day with a vengeance, a pain he will never forget."
Dante took a few heavy breaths on the other end of the communication line, then gritted his teeth and said, "... Understood. The Blood Angels retreat, giving Lord Lin En the front line."
The Blood Angels ' thirty warships began an orderly retreat.
Dante's flagship was the last to leave the battle line. Before departing, it fired a salvo towards the Vengeful Spirit, blasting a Chaos cruiser that was charging ahead in two before turning back to retreat.
Just then, the communications of all the ships on Lin En's side suddenly went off simultaneously.
Then the Imperium ships' all-channel communications were forcibly interrupted.
All communication station screens were forcibly switched.
A deep, gruff voice echoed across all the ships, "I am Abaddon the Despoiler, Warmaster of Chaos, Lord of the Black Legion. I am the chief of demons, the Marauder of the world. The False Emperor will be overthrown by my hand. Lay down your weapons, submit to the power of destruction, or die in despair."
Ezekyle Abaddon.
Born in Kosonia, he is the son of Horus of the 16th Legion, the former company commander of the First Company of the Shadowmoon Wolves, the chief of the Council of Four Kings of Horus, and Horus himself recognized him as the son who most resembled him.
He was also known as one of the three heroes of the Great Crusade, along with Western Sword Immortal and Raldoron.
He was a hero of war and survived a bloody battle.
Horus very much, Horus to the extreme.
He famously said, "If they intend to separate me from you, they'll have to break every bone in my body. As long as I have a breath left, I will never abandon you."
After Horus was stabbed by the demon sword, the four-man group led by Abaddon, under the influence of Erebus, sent Horus to the Temple of the Four Gods.
This directly led to Horus being corrupted by the Four Gods.
Abaddon then followed Horus throughout the rebellion, witnessing the massacre of Istvaan and the Siege of Terra.
He wasn't present during the final battle.
He had heard that the Adeptus Custodes and Horus were engaged in a decisive battle on the Vengeful Spirit, and in order to get back to Horus's side, he dared to charge into the defensive line formed by Captain-General of the Adeptus Custodes Constantin and dozens of elite Adeptus Custodes.
The Adeptus Custodes killed ordinary Astartes as easily as cutting melons and vegetables, but he managed to break through the encirclement and rush back to Horus's side.
But by the time he got back, Horus was already dead.
Abaddon led the remaining rebels into the Eye of Terror.
The Sons of Horus's army became a laughingstock among other traitors, and were hunted down and plundered.
The key turning point in the rise of Brother Dun was when Fabius Bayer, the old doctor Emperor's Children, stole Horus's remains, intending to clone a new Horus.
Upon learning this, Abaddon was enraged. He personally caught up with and killed the clone, and then completely burned Horus's remains.
He no longer intended to be Horus's shadow; he believed Horus's failure was due to being controlled by an evil god and Horus's own weakness.
He wanted to start his own war of revenge, so he abandoned the name Sons of Horus, reorganized into the Black Legion, and changed his Power Armor to a black and gold color scheme.
That is, the source of that famous line that was repeatedly mocked:
The era of the Primarchs has ended.
The Black Legion does not pledge allegiance to any one of the Four Gods, but instead believes in the Chaos Undivided.
Abaddon would borrow the power of the Four Gods, but he would never sacrifice himself to any evil god, refusing to become a demon.
This also allowed him to do things that other Chaos warlords couldn't, such as temporarily uniting the mutually hostile Daemon Primarchs like Angron, Mortarion, Fulgrim, and Magnus, along with various warbands, into a single expedition.
The Vengeful Spirit was originally Horus's vehicle, and now it is Abaddon's.
During his Thirteenth Black Crusade, he used Blackstone Fortress to smash the planet Cadia, which was suppressing the Eye of Terror.
The collapse of Cadia, the failure of the Blackstone Array at the Cadian Gate, the loss of control of the Eye of Terror, the Great Rift tearing apart the galaxy, and the Imperium splitting in two into the Imperium Sanctus and the Imperial Darkside.
Half of the Imperium planets no longer see the light of the Astronomican.
The Great Rift dragged the entire Imperium to the brink of death, but it also directly led to the return of Guilliman and the Lion King.
