Green did not lose his temper. He merely regarded his opponent with a faint, indifferent gaze, then raised his hand. The tip of his staff lit up, unfolding a rapidly spinning array of spell rings. In the blink of an eye, successive Soul Summoning spells were cast. Summoning magic flashed continuously around Green, and in barely more than twenty seconds, the area was packed with fully armed Gun Skeleton Soldiers and bloodthirsty, snarling Ghouls, arranged in dense ranks that made one's scalp crawl.
"Attack!"
Green swung down the hand holding his staff. The first to suffer was the red-haired, bearded man. The sudden appearance of the undead army sobered him halfway from his drunkenness. He instinctively reached for the short sword and enchanted pistol at his waist, only to realize that he had tossed both life-saving weapons onto the sofa several meters away. He froze for a moment, but in that instant, a rapidly enlarging glint of cold light was reflected in his pupils.
The next moment, with a wet splurt, a rusty yet razor-sharp rifle bayonet tore open the red-haired, bearded man's chest.
A great deal of blood erupted, drenching the nearby Skeleton Soldier from head to toe.
The Skeleton Soldier did not care in the slightest. It let the bright-red blood run down its stark-white bones, then gripped its bayonet-fitted enchanted rifle and thrust it at the next enemy.
In an instant, twenty-seven Skeleton Soldiers and five Ghouls scattered throughout the hall like flowers cast from heaven, rapidly running rampant. Only the Evil Spirit Maxim and the Hard-Skin Ghoul remained beside Green as bodyguards.
After the initial chaos, the supernatural beings belonging to the Tower of Yin Spirits began to react, launching a fairly fierce counterattack. In particular, four burly men with bare upper bodies and battle-axes in hand flexed their heavily muscled frames. They easily hacked down one Skeleton Soldier and forced back two others. The four quickly regrouped nearby, forming a small squad before fighting their way toward Green.
Unfortunately, aside from those few Icefield Barbarians who never forgot to fight even while eating or defecating and maintained their formidable combat strength, the other people from the Tower of Yin Spirits could barely mount a proper counterattack. In less than two minutes, half their forces had already fallen. As for the four bare-chested barbarians, after working together to cut down two Skeleton Soldiers, they were only three or four meters from Green and seemed about to reach him and eliminate the culprit. What awaited them, however, was the enchanted pistol in Green's hand, its muzzle glimmering with a faint radiance, along with the even more swift and savage Hard-Skin Ghoul.
Under these circumstances, the fate of the four barbarians was no longer in doubt...
"Bang bang bang bang~~~"
After emptying the pistol in one breath, Green frowned. He had not fired a gun in a long time, and his shooting felt rusty. Of the seven bullets, only two had actually struck their intended targets.
Of course, by "intended targets," Green meant hitting the exact places he had aimed at. If merely hitting the enemies counted, then all seven shots had found flesh. But of those bullets aimed at the barbarians' heads and hearts, only two had truly hit their marks. The others had struck their hands and feet or accidentally wounded the unfortunate fellows nearby.
Still, the power of this enchanted pistol was no joke. With Green's magic amplified through the pistol, its force was enough to blast an elephant to death. No matter how the barbarians' bodies displayed a reddish protective battle aura, it could not stop the terrifying kinetic force infused with magic after the bullets were fired.
The next moment, with a bang, a mass of flesh exploded beneath the left ribs of the barbarian charging at the front. The bullet pierced straight through, leaving behind a massive hole and pulverizing even his lumbar spine.
That incomparably sturdy barbarian let out a wail and scream unlike anything he had ever uttered in his life.
At the same time, Green's Skeleton Soldiers and Ghouls swept through and ravaged all life like a whirlwind—not only the supernatural beings, but the women as well. Their brains had already been damaged by magic and drugs, reducing them to living-dead-like existences. Even if the most skilled grand priest of holy light had been present, it would have been impossible to restore their damaged brain tissue. Perhaps a painless death was the best destination left for them.
Green stood where he was and calmly loaded bullets into the pistol. Then, with a click, he pressed the cylinder back into place. He took aim at a naked old man who was looking for a chance to escape. The muzzle spat out another fire-serpent. With a bang, the shot hit its mark, but at the instant the skinny old man—thin as a rack of bones—was struck, a gold-edged tower shield suddenly appeared before him and blocked the bullet.
The gold-edged tower shield that had appeared from thin air shattered outright. With a clatter, a silver coin inset with the bullet fell to the ground. The shield engraved on the coin had broken apart, and the entire coin was covered in cracks, as if it might crumble at any moment.
Green let out a soft exclamation. He knew he had once again encountered a fine defensive magical item. The fact that it could block a bullet from an enchanted pistol was enough to prove how formidable the silver coin was.
Unfortunately, it was already destroyed. He could only reclaim its Psychic Energy; he could no longer take it and use it directly.
Green felt a pang of regret, but his finger on the trigger did not slow in the slightest. The moment the first shot was blocked, he fired a second. He wanted to see just how much wealth this old man—who was advanced in years yet still only a Junior Apprentice—had to squander.
Unfortunately, the panicked fleeing old man brought no surprises. The second shot sent him straight to his grave. He died cleanly, without even managing to scream.
At the same time, the Evil Spirit Maxim, which had been floating near Green all along, suddenly moved. It transformed into a white stream of air resembling a shooting star and charged toward Green's left.
Behind the sofa there, two Apprentice Knights had drawn enchanted pistols and were preparing to aim at Green. A streak of white light flew toward them. Before either could fire, it was already in front of them, like a gust of wind blowing straight into their faces. Yet the white light passed directly through one of their bodies.
The next moment, that Apprentice Knight's eyes opened wide. The white shadow was reflected in his pupils, his face filled with disbelief. Then his body went limp and collapsed. There were no wounds on him, but he was already dead.
Two seconds later, the other armed Apprentice Knight followed his companion into the afterlife. The Evil Spirit Maxim entered his body and directly destroyed his soul.
Half a minute later, Green swept his gaze across the hall. The only ones still standing were Green himself and his undead army. Everyone from the Tower of Yin Spirits had been wiped out. Not a single one remained, not even someone barely clinging to a final breath of life.
Green began cleaning up the battlefield without hesitation. He ordered the Skeleton Soldiers to carry all the supernatural beings' corpses and weapons before him. He only had to reach out and touch them, converting them into Psychic Energy in the Graveyard. The feeling was rather like opening loot boxes in a game. Each corpse or item yielded a different amount of Psychic Energy, and the total had already exceeded a thousand. Added to what he had accumulated earlier, the Graveyard's Psychic Energy reserves had approached the two-thousand mark for the first time.
