Background / History

After the Beast Calamity, Luohou founded the Demon Sect and pursued the Killing Dao. He secretly intensified the conflict among the three clans to accumulate the Blood Fiend Qi and slaughter needed to refine his Devil Dao treasure 12 14.

Hongjun warned that Luohou intended to unleash a wider killing calamity and use it to attain Primordial Unity Great Firmament. Luohou likewise believed that surviving the confrontation with Hongjun’s group could let him attain that realm and spread the blood-soaked Devil Dao across the Primordial World 14 15.

Luohou deployed the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation in the Dao-Devil War, but Li Yi and the other attackers broke it. Facing defeat, Luohou detonated himself and the West’s Spiritual Veins, ending the calamity rather than attaining the Dao 15 19 20.

Associated Methods and Treasures

• Blood Fiend Qi — Luohou drew on the slaughter of the three clans to refine his killing formation. Li Yi siphoned away a third of the accumulated energy, delaying its completion 12 16.
• Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation — Luohou’s Devil Dao treasure trapped the attacking cultivators and killed those below the Great Firmament realm upon its deployment. Breaking it required removing its four swords from their Array Eyes 14 15 16.

Terminology

• Yuanshi’s accusation — Yuanshi later called Li Yi’s teaching a “Devil Dao” while claiming he needed to check it for harmful distortions. This was his characterization of a rival’s teaching, not an identification of Li Yi’s Law Dao with Luohou’s path 43 44.
