["A god becoming a scientist? A musician? Isn't that a little absurd?"]
["Hey, is that really the point? The point is, he killed almost an entire generation of noble clan leaders."]
["What's that got to do with me? I'm not a noble."]
["All I can say is: good riddance."]
Holy Soul Village, Tang Hao's home.
The adult and the two children fell silent.
Li Xun cleared his throat. "Uncle Hao, those were Xiao San and me on the Heavenly Screen, weren't they? Are we still going to have our spirits awakened tomorrow?"
Tang Hao looked from Li Xun to Tang San, his expression complicated. These two children would ascend to godhood one day, and one of them was his own son. Ah Yin, did you see that? Our son will become a god... The thought of his late wife left him dazed.
"Father." Tang San raised a hand and waved it gently before Tang Hao's eyes, drawing him back. "Brother Xun asked you a question."
"Ahem."
Tang Hao snapped out of it. He coughed twice to cover his lapse, then said in a low voice, "There's no need to go to Spirit Hall. I'll awaken your spirits myself, right now."
With that, he took six Awakening Stones from his Storage Ring and arranged them neatly on the floor.
"Xiao San, stand in the center of the Magic Array. You'll go first."
"Yes, Father." Tang San obediently stepped into the circle formed by the Awakening Stones.
Li Xun stood quietly to one side and watched.
What followed was no different from the original story.
The six Awakening Stones glowed with soft white light. A holy radiance enveloped Tang San as Soul Power from the world surged into his body. Blue Silver Grass appeared first, winding around his right hand, lush and brimming with life.
Then the shadow of a massive hammer, black and heavy with ancient patterns, slowly took shape above his left hand—the Clear Sky Hammer had appeared!
This time, Tang San did not hide his second martial soul. He revealed both without reservation.
Seeing his son awaken Twin Martial Souls before his eyes—the Clear Sky Hammer in his left hand and Blue Silver Grass in his right—Tang Hao shuddered, his eyes instantly reddening. Years of suppressed pain, guilt, and hope surged through him. He clenched his fists, and in a hoarse, trembling voice, spoke the words that would echo across the heavens of Douluo:
"Xiao San, remember this. Use the hammer in your left hand to protect the grass in your right!"
After those words, the battle-hardened man, scarred by half a lifetime of hardship, could hold back no longer. He pulled Tang San into a tight embrace. Father and son wept together, years of regret and longing spilling out as hot tears.
Li Xun stood off to the side, at a loss and thoroughly embarrassed. He quietly looked away and pretended to study the room, unwilling to intrude on their moment.
Only after a while did Tang Hao come back to himself. Remembering that Li Xun was still there, he hurriedly released Tang San, raised a hand to cover a couple of coughs, and composed himself.
"Xiao Xun, come here."
He suppressed the turmoil in his heart and spoke gently.
Li Xun stepped obediently into the center of the Magic Array formed by the Awakening Stones. "All right. Sorry for the trouble, Uncle Hao."
As soon as Li Xun stood in place, the six Awakening Stones shone with a pure white radiance. A gentle torrent of Soul Power swirled around him and enveloped him completely.
Tang Hao set aside his grief, focused his Soul Power, and began guiding Li Xun's Spirit Awakening.
With his eyes closed, Li Xun felt as though he were in a warm world, held in his parents' arms as he had been when he was little. A comforting current flowed through his organs and every limb.
At the same time, a powerful force welled up in each of his hands, as though both were about to break free of the restraints of his body.
As a transmigrator, Li Xun knew this was a sign of Twin Martial Souls.
But he had no intention of hiding them. The Heavenly Screen had already exposed everything, so he might as well show them openly. Tang San and I are best friends. Tang Hao isn't going to kill his own son's best friend, is he?
Four tiny swords appeared above his right hand. At the same moment, a formation diagram appeared above his left.
"The Four Swords of Zhu Xian and the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation Diagram?" Li Xun's heart leapt. Am I a bargain-basement Heavenly Lord of the Dao?
"Twin Martial Souls... another set of Twin Martial Souls!" Tang Hao could not contain his shock. Twin Martial Souls were scarcely seen once in a century, yet two children had awakened them today.
"Come on, Xiao San, Xiao Xun. Let's test your Innate Soul Power."
He took a crystal ball from his Storage Ring. "Place your hands on it."
A moment later, Tang Hao was stunned again. Both boys had Innate Full Soul Power. No wonder they would accomplish so much in the future.
Still, he forced himself to calm down. "Xiao Xun, go home for now. Bring your parents here tomorrow. We can't stay in Holy Soul Village anymore. We'll move somewhere else tomorrow."
Li Xun immediately understood. The Heavenly Screen had exposed them, and word that he and Tang San were near Nod Town would bring spies from all sorts of factions. They needed to lie low.
"Got it, Uncle Hao. I'll come first thing tomorrow morning." Li Xun nodded. "I'll head home, then."
"Go on."
The Heavenly Screen continued to play.
[The scene changed. Smoke and dust hung over a ravaged land pocked with craters of every size and depth.
Three figures appeared in the sky.
The two on the left were:
Sea God Tang San, ruler of the four seas.
His azure divine robes billowed without wind, rolling like ocean waves. Layer upon layer of Sea God radiance surrounded him, while fine star-shaped divine markings shimmered across his body. His black hair fell over his shoulders. His features were gentle, yet bore the supreme divinity of one who looked down upon all living things. His clear eyes held the depths of an ancient sea and a quiet, boundless authority.
The Sea God Trident rested steadily in his right hand. Light rippled endlessly along its brilliant blue shaft, and ancient divine markings shone upon it. The vast might of the ocean descended upon the mortal world, compelling every trace of moisture between heaven and earth to submit.
Angel God Qian Renxue, ruler of light.
Her sacred armor was spotless white. An Angel God Ring floated above her head, and twelve holy angel wings slowly spread behind her. With each gentle beat, they scattered pure light across the sky and drove away the surrounding smoke and gloom.
Her beauty was cool and flawless, her bearing as upright as a goddess from the highest heavens. Her golden eyes were stern, and she carried the sacred authority to judge all things. Pure light surged from her, cleansing the lingering violence from the air. Her domain of light covered the land—holy, majestic, and unyielding. She was the heavenly sovereign who governed the order of light.
Facing them stood:
Asura God Li Xun, wielder of the power of judgment.
He stood alone, the Four Swords of Zhu Xian and the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation Diagram hovering around him. Four violet-gold divine swords revolved in midair, their cold edges tearing through the clouds as overwhelming sword energy sealed off every direction. The ancient formation diagram spread across the sky, its profound power concealing a lethal trap that could bind every law in existence.
Endless Asura baleful energy intertwined with the killing force of the Four Swords of Zhu Xian, forming a boundless divine domain. Cold, domineering, and absolute, its unparalleled might eclipsed the Sea God's vastness and the Angel God's holiness, towering over the entire world.
The Sea God. The Angel God. The Asura God.
Three supreme gods faced one another in the sky. Their utterly different divine domains collided and intertwined, stirring wind and clouds. Above the ruined land, the scene became a confrontation of gods that would shake the ages.]
Worship Hall.
The moment the scene appeared on the Heavenly Screen, Qian Daoliu trembled all over. His aged eyes filled with overwhelming joy and relief.
He gazed at Qian Renxue, now a god on the Heavenly Screen, and could no longer contain himself. Kneeling devoutly beneath the enormous statue of the Six-Winged Angel, he bowed again and again. His aged voice shook with tears and reverence. "Xue'er has become the Angel God! Heaven has blessed the Angel Lineage!"
Sea God Island.
Bo Saixi stood quietly by the shore. Light rippled across the wide sleeves of her water-blue gown, and mist curled around her. Beautiful and dignified, she carried the ancient solemnity of the sea.
She looked up at Tang San on the Heavenly Screen and murmured, "So this is the successor chosen by the Sea God?"
Divine Realm.
The Asura God sat upon his divine throne, his gaze fixed on Li Xun's imposing figure on the Heavenly Screen. Admiration flashed in his eyes, and he nodded. "So this is my destined successor. His aptitude, fortune, and resolve to walk the path of slaughter are all exceptional. He is worthy of inheriting my divine throne."
