Background / History

The Heavenly Screen appears over Douluo Star shortly before Li Xun and Tang San’s martial-soul awakenings. Li Xun’s returning system identifies it as a gift: when someone believes what it shows, Li Xun receives a corresponding reward. Its first images depict a transformed future Spirit Hall, prompting viewers to question whether they are seeing events yet to come 1.

Later broadcasts show the future godhood of Li Xun, Tang San, and Qian Renxue, as well as conflicts and family events involving them. The screen disappears after its initial run and returns about a month later. Viewers begin to expect monthly appearances, but it subsequently remains absent for six years before returning as Li Xun joins Heaven Dou Royal Academy 3 30 37 91 92.

The broadcast following the six-year absence introduces Gu Yuena and expands its coverage to the Sacred Demon Continent. Unlike earlier appearances, which viewers remember as lasting only a few days, it continues without stopping for an entire month. It eventually ends after showing Qian Renxue’s victory over the Demon God Emperor and the departure of Li Xun, Qian Renxue, and Gu Yuena through a passage toward the Divine Realm 97 111 118 121.

Two years later, the fourth Heavenly Screen appears as Bibi Dong announces the semifinals of the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Tournament in Spirit City. Its subsequent scenes show the establishment of the Spirit Pagoda, Xu Changle’s future relationship with Li Xun, and the technologically advanced Sun Moon Empire under her rule 132 139 144 158.

The Heavenly Screen is an immense, translucent display suspended high in the sky. Its appearances can bring brilliant light and a pressure felt across the world 1 57 92 93.

• Images play across its surface, with scrolling viewer comments alongside them 1 57.
• It fades from view when a broadcast ends 30 83.
• Its return after six years fills the sky with brilliant white light, obscures the sun, stills wind and clouds, and brings a vast pressure that spreads across the continent. The screen itself is described as glasslike, with flowing light and shadow and an aura of the Dao 92 93.
• Its fourth appearance begins with the sky darkening and a boundless curtain of pale silver light unfolding over Spirit City 132.

• Can selectively suppress sound while continuing to show images. It mutes the crucial portion of Qian Renxue’s request to Li Xun before ending on an intimate scene, leaving viewers unable to hear what she asked 83 84.

• Comments do not display the poster’s name. One viewer invokes this anonymity after publicly revealing that Li Xun and Tang San are six-year-olds from Holy Soul Village who have already moved away 11.

• Knowledge received through the screen can place a mental burden on Li Xun. Songs implanted in his mind leave him with a headache, which Tang Hao identifies as mental exhaustion rather than a serious physical problem 17.
• After one broadcast ends, Li Xun pretends that unfamiliar memories are entering his mind. Tang San and Tang Hao interpret this as another opportunity granted to him by the Heavenly Screen and stand guard 46.
• When the broadcast ending with Qian Renxue’s anniversary request disappears, Li Xun receives a torrent of information in his Sea of Spirit. It includes the principles and production methods for phones, computers, cars, high-speed trains, and other modern inventions, together with four self-created sword techniques: One Sword Makes the Immortal Kneel, Green Snakes in Both Sleeves, Sword Qi Rolling Dragon Wall, and One Sword Opens Heaven’s Gate 84.
