History

When the Dragon God materials appeared at Shrek, Long Yeyue accused Yun Ming of hiding the missing Dragon God Heart and Soul Bone. He denied it, noting that he had no dragon Martial Soul. Yun Ming urged patience, directed the remaining scales and claws to Shrek’s equipment researchers, and prepared the academy for the Ten Trials. He also recognized that Shrek could not safely antagonize every faction seeking a share of the materials 5 6.

After the first God-Slaying Shell struck, Yun Ming thanked the Blue Silver Emperor for shielding Shrek’s people. When a second shell targeted the academy, he rallied its elders to fight beside her and condemned Long Yeyue’s provocation of the Federation. She fled before the defenders could act. Yun Ming burned his Demigod Position in the defense, then sacrificed his Battle Armor, Power of Faith, and much of his spear to shield the Sea God Pavilion and its elders. Teachers and students outside that protection died, leaving him gravely weakened and guilt-ridden 9 10 11.

Yun Ming continued fighting the Holy Spirit Cult in Shrek’s ruins. As his strength ran out, he allowed the Nether Emperor’s sword to strike him and used his last attack to wound the Blood Demon and buy the elders time. He died believing Shrek’s allies would finally intervene; they arrived shortly afterward. Ya Li later used her resurrection ability and a vast amount of Power of Faith to bring him back, choosing his revival over the mass resurrection of Shrek’s dead teachers and students 12 16 31.

The Demon Empress subsequently challenged the still-injured Yun Ming to a Life-and-Death Arena. His desperate rise to peak Quasi-God strength wounded her but could not defeat her. Before she killed him, he warned Shrek that the Divine Examination was a trap set by a god. His Red-Level Nine Trials transferred to the Demon Empress, and Ya Li could no longer revive him 35 36 37.
