History

Lin Yuan announced the Dragon God’s Ten Trials through a Heavenly Screen visible across Douluo Continent. He designated Shrek Academy as the central testing ground and advertised one Supreme Dragon God Seat and nine God King seats 2. He then bound the examination to the Divine Realm: a third of the God Realm Center was drawn into the system, which began diverting Divine Power to fund its trials and rewards 3.

Lin Yuan completed the rules in the examination space and created Baby Dragon to administer them while he returned to Douluo Continent 4. The examination later expanded across parallel worlds. More than 50,000 registered Shrek teachers and students received trial marks, while the Ultimate Douluo world was reserved as a monthly boss challenge rather than entered as ordinary competitors 28.

Examination Tiers

Initial placement depends on Innate Soul Power, not a candidate’s age or current cultivation. The announced progression runs from White-Level Five Trials through the multicolored Supreme Divine Trial 2 4.

Innate Soul Power Initial examination
Level 6 White-Level Five Trials 2
Level 7 Yellow-Level Six Trials 2
Level 8 Purple-Level Seven Trials 2
Level 9 Black-Level Eight Trials 2
Level 10 Red-Level Nine Trials 2

Gold-Level Divine Trial and the multicolored Supreme Divine Trial lie beyond the Red-Level Nine Trials; no automatic Innate Soul Power placement for them is stated 2.

Rules and Rewards

  • Progression and elimination — Survivors of a lower-tier pool advance when their number falls to match the next tier’s pool. Lin Yuan designed the contest to narrow toward nine leading contenders, while expecting to claim the ultimate place himself 4.
  • Taking a place — Killing an examination holder can transfer their examination and progress. A person without an examination gains the defeated holder’s level and progress; an existing holder retains whichever examination has advanced further. Ten examinations of one tier can be fused into the next tier 4.
  • Limits on weaker-target kills — Repeatedly killing opponents more than two levels below oneself yields diminishing rewards, eventually no reward, and can cause backlash and lost progress. Such killers can also receive a red mark that makes them targets 4.
  • Scheduled contests — Every three months, holders are to be summoned for individual matches and randomly assigned seven-person team battles. Points determine rankings; each event eliminates one hundred candidates and rewards the top one hundred 4.
  • Match equalization — Individual competitors are returned to the youngest participant’s age. In team matches, competitors are returned to the age of their youngest teammate 4.
  • Rewards — Advertised rewards include Soul Power, increased spirit-ring ages, God-Given Spirit Rings, Spirit Bones, and potentially new or stronger Martial Souls. Rewards for the first trial also include access to the Dragon Blood Pool at the highest difficulty 2 32.

First Trial: Dragon God Ladder

Candidates must climb the ladder, pass the Reverse Dragon Slope and Dragon Crossing Bridge, then reach the top of a Coiling Dragon Pillar. Higher examination tiers face more steps, greater gravity, and stronger Dragon Might 32.

Tier Ladder requirement
White 36 steps; three times normal gravity 32
Yellow 72 steps; six times normal gravity 32
Purple 108 steps; ten times normal gravity and Dragon Might 32
Black 180 steps; eighteen times normal gravity and a Dragon Might Tide 32
Red 333 steps; thirty times normal gravity and a stronger Dragon Might Tide 32

A candidate may choose a lower difficulty, but receives a lower score and fewer rewards 32.

Cross-World Challenges

  • Baby Dragon statues at Shrek Academies provide routes for challenges between worlds. Life-and-Death Arena matches can transfer a defeated holder’s trial mark to the victor 34 35 37.
  • Arena equalization does not erase every advantage: combat experience and physical strength can still decide matches, and some age-equalized opponents retain unequal cultivation 37 39 45.
  • The Heavenly Screen broadcasts matches across worlds. After the Demon Empress called the examination a conspiracy against Shrek, a Baby Dragon broadcast operator planned to filter similar remarks from future audio 35 36.
  • The marks briefly exposed Shrek agents embedded in other factions when the examination descended. Later, candidates and outsiders fought for scarce examination places across the connected worlds 28 49.
