Ability: Gene Ancestor. Mew carried the genetic information of every Pokémon since the birth of the world. It was the origin of life, the prototype of all things. Wherever Mew appeared, nearby Pokémon and Soul Beasts felt a closeness and awe rooted deep in their blood, becoming gentle and curious.

Hidden Ability: Life Weaving. Mew could combine the elemental power stored in Plates with its own genes to weave entirely new Pokémon from nothing. Each Pokémon it created had a complete life, an independent will, and a natural affinity for its creator.

Moves: Infinite

Core creation ability:

Consume energy from a Plate of the corresponding type to create a Pokémon of that type for you.

Duration: Until creation was complete, or Mew lost interest. Mew would refuse to be summoned if its affection was too low.

Note: Mew was fond of Pokémon and Soul Beasts. Interact with them sincerely and work to raise your affection levels to earn Mew's favor.

Chi Hong stared at the information on the panel and nearly jumped.

Mew?

It could create Pokémon?

Why didn't they say so sooner? With Mew, couldn't I make Mewtwo?

"The Snow Empress is in terrible shape. Her soul is practically in pieces. My Inner Focus has the quality needed to repair it, but I don't have enough control."

From what he could tell with his Inner Focus, they wouldn't finish advancing and wake up until the final at the earliest.

"Then I'll let the others show their faces in the next few matches..."

Chi Hong lay down with his head on the Ice Empress's snow-white thighs and closed his eyes.

The Ice Empress blushed and murmured, "Do you have to lie like that... to think?"

Chi Hong shifted his head into a more comfortable sleeping position.

Sun Moon Imperial Academy faced Shrek Academy, just as it had hoped.

Xiao Hongchen sneered.

"Too bad. We'll crush you as fast, as hard, and as brutally as we can. Even if you surrender, it'll be too late."

Chi Hong unhurriedly pulled on a dark leather glove. A smooth, transparent blue gem was set into its back, with a rainbow band of light drifting through its center like a nebula.

"I choose you, Charizard, Greninja, Lucario."

Chi Hong threw out all three Pokémon at once. It was the first time they had fought side by side.

ROAR!!!

Charizard opened with War Cry as usual, throwing back its head and bellowing at the sky.

This time, though, something about its appearance had changed. A broad black collar encircled its neck, holding an oval orange-red gem at the center. Deep within it, a dark blue X-shaped mark glimmered faintly.

Greninja stood with its arms crossed, as cool and aloof as ever.

Lucario scanned its opponents, gathering information, ready to fight at any moment.

The three Pokémon looked much the same, but the presence they gave off had changed completely.

Ma Rulong's pupils contracted.

"Three ten-thousand-year Soul Beasts? How is that possible? How did they advance so far in such a short time?"

Xiao Hongchen's gaze darkened.

"So what if they're ten-thousand-year Soul Beasts? Soul Tools are the bane of Soul Beasts. And there are seven of us. The advantage is ours."

Chi Hong grinned.

"You think we're betting on the next two matches? Sorry, but after this one, none of you will be getting back up."

Chi Hong clenched his right fist. The Key Stone on the back of his hand erupted with deep blue light.

The next instant,

He thrust his right fist forward, and the Key Stone's light shot toward Charizard.

The Mega Stone X on Charizard's collar responded to the Key Stone's power. The X-shaped pattern on the orange-red gem blazed gold and red, lighting up the entire arena.

The two beams met in midair.
