Background / History

Su Yuntao conducts the Martial Soul awakening ceremony in Holy Soul Village. He is surprised when Tang San, whose Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass, tests at Innate Full Soul Power. Chu Heng’s level-seven Innate Soul Power and unidentified Tool Martial Soul also catch his attention. Su Yuntao invites Chu Heng to train at Spirit Hall and agrees to return after the boy has spoken with his parents 2 3.

After bringing Chu Heng to Nott City, Su Yuntao takes him to the junior Soul Master academy so he can meet other children. There, he rebukes a gatekeeper for questioning the authenticity of Tang San’s certificate, which Su Yuntao issued. At the Spirit Hall branch, he registers Chu Heng as a Directly Nurtured Disciple, keeps the details of his unusual Martial Soul confidential, and shows him to his room 4 5.

Su Yuntao continues to advise Chu Heng after his registration, urging him to make the most of Su Xianling’s instruction. When Chu Heng returns from obtaining his first Spirit Ring, Su Yuntao offers to help if he encounters trouble at Spirit Hall. They stay in contact over the next two years; before leaving Nott City, Chu Heng visits to thank him for the recommendation that began his training there 7 29 41.
