Background / History

Lin Qiye was once the Primeval Holy Land’s foremost prodigy and a prospective Holy Lord. During the Demon-Sealing Calamity, he held off three great demons for three days and nights to protect junior disciples and contain abyssal demonic energy. He succeeded, but lost his sight, cultivation, and Sword Heart. The sect continued sending medicine, while Lin spent the next two years largely forgotten on Falling Geese Peak, sharpening a broken sword 6.

Su Chen visited Lin and offered him a path beyond the laws of the damaged Canglan Realm, warning that it meant bearing ancient karma and opposing the force said to have destroyed the Heavenly Court. Lin accepted. In a dream, he received Yang Jian’s inheritance; by morning, his body and sight had recovered 6 7.

Lin returned to the Holy Land, where Ji Changkong reinstated him as First Holy Son. A projection of Yang Jian’s battle subsequently made Lin’s inheritance known across the heavens, drawing both pilgrims and factions intent on seizing it 8 10.

Lin is a young man often seen in coarse, faded robes with a broken sword on his back. His recovered form carries the pressure of Yang Jian’s divine inheritance 8 26.
