Background / History

After Chu Men defeats Superman, Luthor broadcasts an argument against relying on superhuman protectors and presents LexCorp technology as humanity’s defense. At LexCorp headquarters, he studies the fight and identifies a sudden change in Chu Men’s power accompanied by spatial distortion. He hopes to reproduce the mechanism in human genetics or LexCorp armor 23 24.

Luthor travels to Gotham and sends Chu Men gifts, including control of three power plants and LexCorp’s battle analysis. Only the analysis attracts Chu Men’s interest. At their meeting, Luthor offers corporate and military resources in exchange for biological data. Chu Men rejects the bargain, breaks Luthor’s personal shield, and destroys the private force sent to rescue him 26 28 31 32 34.

Rather than kill Luthor, Chu Men uses a Spiritual Imprint to replace his independence with absolute obedience and worship. Luthor retains his executive skills: he immediately directs LexCorp’s cleanup of the battlefield, then funds a media campaign portraying Chu Men’s massacre as divine justice 35 36.

Luthor is bald and typically appears in a tailored suit. He maintains a composed public manner before his defeat by Chu Men 23 26 31.

His confidence breaks when Chu Men overwhelms both his shield and his army 31 34.

After the imprint, his ambition serves Chu Men instead of himself. He calls Chu Men a god, obeys even unspoken orders, and treats the loss of his own soldiers as material for a propaganda campaign 35 36 65.
