Background / History

When Themyscira’s Oracle Stone showed Chu Men brutalizing Superman, Diana resolved to confront him. She entrusted the island’s defenses to Artemis, took the sword Magic-Breaker, and left without saying goodbye to her mother, Queen Hippolyta 25.

In Gotham, Diana gathered information before acting. She stopped Falcone enforcers from assaulting a shopkeeper, but her divine perception found no trace of Chu Men at the Iceberg Lounge 26 30. After witnessing him destroy LexCorp’s forces, she abandoned her plan to attack alone and returned to Bruce Wayne to help assemble allies 34 37.

A warning through her Lasso of Truth called Diana back to Themyscira before she could reach Barry Allen 42. There, an awakened Mother Box resisted Magic-Breaker and opened a rift for Steppenwolf. Diana used the Aegis to seal the rift, then warned Bruce that the Mother Box was broadcasting Earth’s location to Apokolips 45 46. She subsequently brought Victor Stone to the Batcave and argued against attacking Chu Men before preparing for the invasion 48 49.
