Jiraiya is impulsive and openly attracted to Tsunade. He plans to confess to her more than once, but jealousy leads him to follow her and Orochimaru into a laboratory, where he mistakes a voluntary experiment for an attack on her 6 27 28. His habit of peeping at the women’s bathhouse repeatedly brings him into conflict with Tsunade 5 6 8.

Despite his comic behavior, he takes the training class seriously once he sees its students, warns Tsunade about the danger of teaching children Flying Thunder God, and resists Orochimaru’s attempt to steer his choice of forbidden technique 44 45 49.
