Background and History

Tsunade is Hashirama Senju’s granddaughter and Mito Uzumaki’s granddaughter. After Wang Gang finds himself in her body, he accepts his new identity and sets out to grow stronger before the Second Great Ninja War, which he expects in two years. Tsunade also resolves to prevent the future deaths and disasters she remembers, beginning with her younger brother Nawaki 1 2 3 4.

She obtains Might Duy’s handwritten Eight Gates notes after stopping other boys from bullying him, then asks Mito to teach her the Yin Seal. She takes time away from missions to pursue sealing, physical conditioning, and medical ninjutsu 2 3 4 5.

Her plans expand beyond training. She saves Hoshina Hyuga and her unborn child, develops ties with women from Konoha’s major clans, and founds a mutual-aid association. At the same time, she works with Orochimaru on strengthening her inherited constitution and pursues the Hokage position 11 17 31.

When she learns that Mito is preparing to pass on the Nine-Tails, Tsunade promises to protect Nawaki and the Uzumaki. She arranges an early-warning plan for the Land of Whirlpools and begins training Minato and Nawaki in the Flying Thunder God Technique so they can eventually transport her there 34 36 39 41.

Research and access to forbidden techniques

To advance Orochimaru’s research into her constitution, Tsunade agrees to obtain cells from Hashirama’s remains despite recognizing the ethical and political risks. Their visit to his grave reveals that it is empty; she later secures Hashirama’s cells 18 20 22.

After establishing the Special Training Class, she takes Orochimaru and Jiraiya to request access to the Book of Seals. Hiruzen initially refuses, but Tsunade invokes their wartime service and privately uses his guilt over the handling of Hashirama’s remains as leverage. Expansion of the Special Training Class

Recognizing that clones cannot permanently replace additional teachers, she recruits Hatake Sakumo to teach swordsmanship and Lightning Release and Chen to teach Leaf Style Taijutsu. Defense of the Land of Whirlpools

With Mito’s approval, but without informing Hiruzen, Tsunade takes Minato, Nawaki, and Kushina to the Land of Whirlpools. The boys establish Flying Thunder God marks along the journey, preparing a rapid-deployment route. Tsunade reunites Kushina with her mother, Yui, and reassures the frightened Uzumaki that the visit is not a punishment from Konoha 58.

When the sensing parasite linked to Kushina dies, Tsunade immediately assembles Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Sakumo, and Chen. Minato and Nawaki transport the group through the prepared route in minutes. They arrive as the Third Kazekage and Third Mizukage threaten a damaged barrier sheltering Uzumaki children, and Tsunade shatters the Kazekage’s incoming Iron Sand attack 60.

During the battle, she protects Chen from giant Iron Sand needles, opens the Fourth Gate, and repeatedly breaks through the Kazekage’s defenses. Three-front war and unification campaign

The Lands of Wind and Water declare war on Konoha, concealing their attack on the Land of Whirlpools and accusing Konoha of assassinating the Kazekage. With the Land of Lightning also mobilizing, Tsunade devises a three-front strategy. Jiraiya and Sakumo face Sunagakure, Orochimaru guards the eastern coast, and Tsunade takes 200 Chunin and 500 Genin north to confront the Third Raikage. Tsunade then attacks Blue B, disrupts his transformation, and uses Morning Peacock against his incomplete chakra cloak. When he loses control and fully releases the Eight-Tails, she unleashes Great Peacock King, breaks one of Gyūki’s horns, and collapses its chakra manifestation, leaving Blue B critically wounded 74 75.

After routing Cloud’s 5,000-ninja force, she orders the northern position fortified and exploits the enemy leaders’ recovery period to reinforce Kikyō Mountain. Minato teleports her to Jiraiya’s marker, where she destroys one of Chiyo’s puppets and relieves pressure on Konoha’s defenders 77.

Following the deaths of Chiyo and Ebizo and the defeat of Sunagakure’s army, Tsunade orders a three-hour pursuit with no survivors. She sends Sakumo and approximately three thousand surviving Konoha fighters toward the Land of Wind’s capital to kill its daimyo. She explicitly identifies the campaign as the beginning of the Shinobi World’s unification, and Sakumo pledges his allegiance 80 89.

Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Minato next reinforce the eastern coast. She identifies the wounded Third Mizukage as the priority target and prepares a coordinated teleportation strike with Jiraiya and Orochimaru. Renewed Cloud offensive and Kannabi Bridge

When Danzo denies the reports of Konoha’s victories, Tsunade knocks him into a wall and rebukes him for undermining morale. She assigns him and the Uchiha clan to defend Kannabi Bridge against a possible Iwagakure attack, deliberately keeping Jiraiya and Orochimaru away from Ōnoki’s Dust Release 89.

She sends Jiraiya and Orochimaru with an elite squad and Hyuga reconnaissance support to contain Hanzo in the Land of Rain. Only after securing victory does she reveal the toll of her exertion. Minato teleports her to a secluded hollow, where she vomits blood, asks to return to Konoha, and collapses unconscious. Her care for vulnerable people is genuine, though she is conscious of its political value. She encourages Duy, spends a month helping Hoshina and her child, and builds a network for women’s health and mutual support. She also sees that network—and her training of clan heirs—as a foundation for a future Hokage campaign 2 17 31 43.

She adapts her persuasion to the individual: she uses flirtation to recruit Jiraiya, appeals to Orochimaru’s research ambitions, and pressures Hiruzen through both wartime necessity and private leverage.
