Background
Rain was reborn in the body of an eighteen-year-old Oak Village farmer after dying in his former world. The original Rain had been found as an infant beside a strange burst of light, carrying a semicircular metal pendant. Old Henry raised him, tried unsuccessfully to find his parents, and left him his house before dying of illness 1 7 8.
Rain discovered his status panel’s purpose when Goblins ambushed him in his family’s rice field: killing them produced bloodline portraits he could equip. After helping rescue two abducted villagers, he left Oak Village to become an adventurer in Mill Town. He intends to investigate his pendant and origins when he can safely consult a knowledgeable mage 1 7 8 9.
Appearance
Bloodlines visibly alter Rain’s physique, especially those obtained from Boarfolk. Activating the Boarfolk Warrior bloodline makes his upper body dramatically more muscular; he initially uses clothing and armor to draw less attention to the change 20 24 27.
- Build: Broad shoulders, enlarged neck and upper-body muscles; his teammates barely recognize him after two weeks apart 24 29 30.
- Usual combat gear: Chainmail and a Bull-Horn Helmet, paired with a shield and warhammer 26 29 34.
Personality
Rain is cautious about exposing the source of his powers. He delays equipping a new bloodline when others might notice, gives the Whistling Hunters a cover story for Freezing Ray, and tests unfamiliar abilities before depending on them in combat 6 15 25. He studies monster ratings, trains consistently, and recognizes when a promising bloodline is not worth an unwinnable fight 11 12 13.
He wants strength both to survive and to protect others. His willingness to stay with the Whistling Hunters against a Boarfolk Warrior earns their respect, though he privately admits that the prospect of its bloodline also influenced him. When his friend Robin goes missing, Rain asks the team to take the investigation 7 21 42.
Abilities & Skills
Bloodline system
Rain gains a monster’s bloodline portrait by playing a leading role in its death; merely delivering the final blow is insufficient. He can equip portraits in four active slots, store others in a sixteen-slot inventory, and fuse four identical lower-tier bloodlines into a higher-tier one 1 2 6 13.
- Active-slot limit: He cannot equip two identical bloodlines of the same tier or fuse the same bloodline a second time. Removing an equipped bloodline immediately removes its benefits 6 7.
- Higher-tier replacement: His Boarfolk Warrior bloodline retains the useful talents of the ordinary Boarfolk bloodline, freeing an active slot 24.
Freezing Ray and frost affinity
Freezing Ray is a Zero-Ring Spell obtained from the Cold-Enhanced Goblin bloodline. Rain uses it to freeze targets, create slippery ground, and injure enemies’ eyes 7 16 19 50.
- Casting limit: He initially manages two casts reliably and a third with difficulty; repeated use causes dizziness, headaches, and mental exhaustion 8 9 15 19.
- Bloodline dependence: Practice improves his aim, but he cannot cast the spell without its bloodline equipped. Frost Affinity Lv. 1 increases ice-spell power by 10% and ice-spell learning speed by 20% 11.
Boarfolk talents and Savage Charge
Brute Strength Lv. 2 increases Rain’s Strength by three, while Thick Hide Lv. 2 increases Constitution by three and improves poison resistance and piercing defense by 30%. Keen Scent Lv. 2 lets him distinguish lingering scents within roughly fifty meters; Hammer Proficiency Lv. 1 improves hammer damage and technique-learning speed 22 24.
- Savage Charge Lv. 1: Rushes a target within fifteen meters. Rain can make a limited turn or charge behind a shield, though a shield weakens the impact 24 25.
- Costs and risks: The charge consumes stamina and some mental energy. Recoil hurts his human shoulder; when also using Freezing Ray, he estimates about three charges per fight are prudent 25.
Bat-derived senses and Silencing Scream
Keen Hearing Lv. 2 helps Rain detect faint sounds within fifty meters. Sonic Echolocation, also called Sonic Location, maps obstacles and creatures using high-frequency sound, allowing him to scout dark passages 37 38 43.
- Echolocation limit: Repeated use leaves his throat dry and hoarse. Creatures able to detect its sound may notice him probing them 37 46 47.
- Silencing Scream Lv. 1: A sonic shriek that can disrupt spellcasting within ten meters 38.
Weapon and combat training
Rain trains with Instructor Humbert in spear thrusts, shield defense, and warhammer use. His learned Combat Techniques include Armor-Breaking Strike and Shield Bash 11 27 28 29.
- Armor-Breaking Strike: Reaches just over 80% execution after two weeks; Rain is told he needs 95% to trigger a class-change prompt 29.
- Shield Bash: Reaches just over 60% execution shortly after he learns it. He later uses it extensively against Giant Vampire Bats 29 35.
- Professional status: Rain has not become a Professional and does not know whether bloodline-granted spells can count toward a class change 35 40.

- Mill Town training: He registers as an adventurer and trains under Humbert to compensate for his limited spellcasting 9 10 11.

- Whistling Hunters membership: After fighting Giant Vampire Bats and demonstrating his close-combat ability in sparring, Rain accepts Leia’s invitation to join the team 35 37 39 40.
- Azure Mine investigation: Concern for Robin leads Rain’s team into an abandoned mine. His senses expose a hidden passage and Gray Dwarf defenders; in the ensuing fight, he coordinates focused attacks and switches targets when a magic barrier thwarts the team 42 46 47 49 50.
