Konoha's Geniuses Were All Nuts

Pop!

The bubble at Kazan's nose burst, and he opened his eyes.

"That backlash really packs a punch. No wonder, after all this time since the Second Hokage invented the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, only Naruto has dared use Shadow Clones to train."

It made sense. Naruto had never been the smartest person in Konoha. If he could think of it, others could too.

Using Shadow Clones for training came with brutal requirements.

A lightweight like Kakashi could only make a few Shadow Clones, and practicing Ninjutsu drained Chakra fast.

Then again, that guy needed eighty-eight Hand Seals just to use Water Release.

Kazan had no such problem.

His will and body were strong enough to shrug off the side effects of Shadow Clones. A nap restored his energy, and his powerful physique gave him a vast reserve of Chakra.

He tried again.

Nope. He still hadn't mastered a single one of the Six Powers.

But he was close. This was Garp's Template, after all.

Everyone in Garp's family was a genius.

Garp, his son, and his grandson all had talent that ranked among the best in the Pirate world.

"It's already this late? Guess I'll have to pick a fight with Jing Uchiha tomorrow."

Kazan glanced at the sky. The sun was almost down.

He had planned to start building his reputation as Konoha's unbeatable champion today by punching the Hyuga's cataract eyes and kicking the Uchiha's red eyes.

For now, though, food came first.

"Come on, Hakimi. Let's hunt. Today, we're eating one of your own kind."

"Awroo?!!!"

Another day passed.

The next morning.

Kazan dispelled the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique early, rested up, and waited along Jing Uchiha's route home.

He didn't have to wait long before Jing appeared at the other end of the road.

The Nine-Tails rampage had yet to happen, and the Uchiha Clan had not been moved to the village's outskirts. Their compound was still in the Center of Konoha.

"You're too slow!"

Kazan stepped in front of Jing Uchiha, swallowed the last of his rice ball, and fixed his gaze on him.

"Kazan? What are you waiting here for?"

"To fight you, of course, you evil little Uchiha brat!"

"What did you say?!"

Jing Uchiha's eyes narrowed at once.

A proud Uchiha would never allow anyone to insult the family name.

"I said the Uchiha are reckless, and the Hyuga aren't any smarter. Uchiha, Hyuga—you're all idiots!"

"You're dead!"

Jing Uchiha dropped his schoolbag and charged.

He needed no other reason. Kazan's words were enough to make him fight with everything he had.

Bang!

Kazan knocked his fists together in front of his chest. "Not bad. You're a lot more decisive than Kakashi!"

As Jing Uchiha rushed toward him, Kazan clenched his fist and swung.

"Fist Bone: Impact!"

His punch tore through the air, driving straight ahead.

Jing Uchiha's expression changed at the sight of it.

He didn't need to take that punch to know he couldn't block it.

He hurriedly twisted aside.

Kazan's fist missed, but the gust it raised whipped Jing Uchiha's hair about and stung his cheek.

Good thing I dodged in time, he thought. Before he could recover, Kazan's leg swept toward him.

Bang! Jing Uchiha hurtled backward more than ten meters before landing on his backside. He rolled several times and finally stopped.

"What technique was that?"

"A simple punch."

"Nonsense! No human fist can be that strong."

Jing Uchiha didn't believe him.

It looked remarkably like the Senju Clan's Monster Strength Fist described in his family's records. He suspected that was exactly what Kazan had used.

However Kazan had learned it, Jing could not afford to be hit.

"I haven't awakened my Sharingan yet. I can't fight him up close!"

Jing Uchiha made a quick assessment and began forming Hand Seals.

Kazan recognized the sequence. It was for the embarrassing Great Fireball Technique, which, just like Amaterasu, had never burned anyone to death.

"Too slow!"

Shave!

In just two days, Kazan had begun to master Shave, one of the Six Powers.

Even at this early stage, it made him more than twice as fast as he had been at full speed.

By stamping the ground repeatedly, he generated a powerful burst of recoil within 0.36 seconds and propelled himself forward at tremendous speed.

Before Jing Uchiha could blink, Kazan was in front of him.

So fast!

Shock overwhelmed Jing. It was too late to defend himself.

Bang!

Kazan's iron fist blew Jing Uchiha apart, leaving only a block of wood.

"Substitution Technique?"

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"

Almost at the same moment, heat flared behind Kazan. A fireball hurtled toward him, growing larger and seeming to slow as it closed in.

"Hmph!"

Kazan moved, dodging like a leopard. He leaped sideways onto a roadside utility pole, kicked off it, and shot into the air.

"Fist Bone!"

"Impact!"

Kazan rose above Jing Uchiha and brought his fist down like a meteorite.

This is bad! Jing was still breathing fire. Unable to dodge, he could only channel Chakra to withstand the descending punch.

Boom! Jing Uchiha was driven down as though crushed by gravity. He smashed through a roof and plunged into the building below.

After only a few exchanges, he followed in Kakashi's footsteps. His eyes rolled back, and he collapsed unconscious in the crater Kazan's punch had made.

"Good grief! That little menace Kazan is wrecking houses again!"

"What? What happened?"

"He got into a fight with an Uchiha, right in the street!"

"What? That awful brat's fighting in the street again? Who's he fighting this time?"

"An Uchiha!"

"What? Come on, let's see if he won!"

The moment the villagers heard Kazan had picked a fight with an Uchiha, their anger vanished. All they cared about was whether he had won.

They sprinted over like champion runners and saw the result.

Kazan stood alone at the edge of the crater, staring at the unconscious Uchiha in its center.

He had clearly won!

"That little devil finally did something good!"

Hearing the commotion, Kazan turned to the villagers.

"You'll all be my witnesses, right? He attacked first!"

"We'll all testify for you!"

"Well done, Kazan! You finally did something good!"

"Serves him right! Let's see if the Uchiha still dare act so high and mighty..."

The villagers cheered. Their long-standing resentment toward the Uchiha even made them forget the damage Kazan had caused.

News soon reached the Hokage.

Hiruzen Sarutobi was already troubled by fighting at the border. Hearing that Kazan had behaved himself for only one day before picking a fight with an Uchiha left him numb.

He pressed a hand to his aching forehead and ordered, "Bring him back quickly. Don't let the Uchiha get their hands on him."

Hiruzen Sarutobi couldn't understand it. Why were the geniuses in his village all such a handful?

Orochimaru had abandoned his duties to pursue some kind of research, and now he was mixed up with Danzo.

Jiraiya was one of the Sannin, yet he had outdone Orochimaru at neglecting his duties. He spent every day peeping at the bathhouse.

Tsunade was even more ridiculous. She was the Konoha Princess, yet people knew her better as the "Big Fat Sheep" than as one of the Sannin. She lost nearly every bet she made.

If the Senju Clan hadn't been so wealthy, she would have gambled away everything and been sold to a brothel by now!

And now the princess had fled Konoha...

Then there was this generation!

Kakashi was a problem child who had drawn complaints from four Jonin teachers in a row.

Kazan was no better, spending every day fighting and causing trouble.

Couldn't any of them grow up and learn from Minato?

Nine out of ten of Konoha's geniuses were nuts!
