Geography and Navigation

• East Blue’s weather is less complicated than the Grand Line’s, making sea travel comparatively straightforward 3.
• Loguetown is a gateway from East Blue to the Grand Line. From there, sailors can reach Reverse Mountain, where an upward current carries ships into the Grand Line 23 26.
• Ordinary compasses cannot reliably guide ships through the Grand Line; Noil buys Log Poses in Loguetown before making the crossing 23 25.

Piracy and Marine Presence

Pirates multiply across East Blue during the Great Pirate Era. Many would be outmatched on the Grand Line but can still terrorize East Blue communities; the Marines cannot keep pace with every new crew 8.

• Cocoyasi Village: Arlong bribes Marine Captain Nezumi to ignore his attacks, then demands tribute from the villagers. Noil defeats Arlong and his officers 8 9.
• Loguetown: Smoker’s patrols make the town safer than many other East Blue ports and prevent numerous pirates from reaching the Grand Line 23.
• Pirate hunting: After killing Kenbula and Yuke and defeating Arlong, Noil builds a reputation throughout the region as “East Blue’s Strongest Pirate Hunter” 15.
