History

Dragon visits Koshiro at Isshin Dojo in Shimotsuki Village with Revolutionary Army members Ivankov and Kuma. While they are there, Dongze awakens Conqueror’s Haki. Dragon shields those around him with his own Haki and clashes with Dongze’s across the village. He is astonished by its strength, particularly after realizing that its pressure is overwhelming his own 7.

Dragon introduces himself to Dongze and invites him to join the Revolutionary Army. Dongze declines, saying he is not yet strong enough to enter the wider conflict. Dragon accepts his judgment and tells him the Army’s doors will remain open 7 8.

Before Dragon leaves, Dongze offers three strategic sayings in exchange for sword-forging ore. Their advice on popular support, building strength patiently, and adapting to an enemy impresses Dragon, who accepts the deal. The ore arrives less than a week later 8.

When Dongze is later named a Shichibukai, Dragon is surprised by how quickly his strength and reputation have grown. He advises against recruiting Dongze while he is under scrutiny, doubts that Dongze has committed himself to the World Government, and asks Kuma to find an opportunity to meet him 43 44.
