Plot points and events
- After Latios defeats three of Ash’s Pokémon, Swellow challenges it but is quickly beaten by Giga Impact. Ash is left with only Pikachu.
- Encouraged by Dawn and his friends, Ash regains his resolve and sends Pikachu into battle.
- Pikachu avoids Latios’s Giga Impact by grabbing onto it, then clings to its back and repeatedly uses Thunderbolt. The strategy eventually paralyzes Latios.
- Latios throws Pikachu off and prepares to finish it with Luster Purge. Following a risky tactic taught by Mingyou, Pikachu uses its tail as a foothold, then rides the edge of the beam to charge at Latios.
- Pikachu strikes Latios with Iron Tail, causing a huge explosion that damages the venue and destroys the cameras.
