The Uchiha Who Learned the Flying Thunder God Technique

Uchiha Yi had not told them there was an Ōtsutsuki family on the moon. They were the ones the Hyuga Clan truly needed to guard against. Yi suspected the Caged Bird Seal had originally been meant as a defense against the Ōtsutsuki Clan, but everyone had forgotten its purpose. The Hyuga Clan had probably forgotten the Ōtsutsuki Clan even existed.

"That's enough. Don't get involved in the Hyuga Clan's affairs. It isn't something you can handle." Mito Uzumaki waved a hand, then continued, "We couldn't resolve this back then, and it will probably be even harder now. Remember not to bring certain things up with your Hyuga classmates."

"We understand, Grandma Mito," Kushina Uzumaki answered quickly. The others chimed in too.

The rest of the meal was much more peaceful. Uchiha Yi and the others listened as Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade recounted amusing things they had encountered on missions. Mito Uzumaki occasionally shared stories from the village's founding. It was a rare moment of calm.

Before Yi left Tsunade's house, she slipped a ninjutsu scroll into his arms and said quietly, "It took me quite a bit of effort to get this for you.

"Take a look at it yourself first. If you can learn it, go ahead. If you can't, let it go.

"Don't take any risks. This jutsu is quite dangerous, and only one person in all of Konoha has ever mastered it. Your safety comes first.

"You can become strong without this jutsu."

"Yes!" Yi glanced at the outside of the scroll. The jutsu's name was not written on it, and no one else had noticed the exchange. Tsunade clearly did not want anyone to see it, so he put the scroll away.

He was curious what jutsu Tsunade had given him.

After saying goodbye to Tsunade, Yi left with Uchiha Mikoto.

Once everyone had gone, Mito Uzumaki asked Tsunade, "What did you give Yi?"

"A scroll for the Flying Thunder God Technique. I asked my teacher for it earlier. The kid has good Space Talent, and the Sharingan gives him sharp eyesight, so his reactions are good too. He might be able to learn it.

"If he does, I won't have to worry so much when he goes on missions." Tsunade had her own reasons. She wanted Yi to grow stronger, and she genuinely wanted to teach him something.

She also hoped he would master a jutsu that could save his life. If they encountered an enemy they could not beat, he could take Nawaki and the others and escape.

"Mm." Mito Uzumaki thought of Tobirama Senju's attitude toward the Uchiha. If he learned that Uchiha Yi was the person most likely to master the Flying Thunder God Technique, would he be so furious he came back from the Pure Land?

"The Flying Thunder God Technique requires a solid foundation in Sealing Jutsu, so I'm sorry to trouble you, Grandma. Please give them more guidance when you have time." Tsunade looked a little embarrassed. "My own jutsu has reached a critical stage, and I can't spare the time to teach him Sealing Jutsu. Besides, I can't compare to you when it comes to that."

Mito Uzumaki gave Tsunade a helpless look. Tsunade had plenty of talent, but she would rather research Medical Ninjutsu than devote more attention to Sealing Jutsu.

Thankfully, there was Kushina Uzumaki. Whenever Mito Uzumaki looked at her, she saw so much of her younger self. She treated Kushina like her own granddaughter.

"I was already planning to teach Yi Sealing Jutsu. In the future, he can also help keep Kushina safe." Hiruzen Sarutobi had said nothing about it, but Mito Uzumaki still thought there was a good chance Kushina Uzumaki would become the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki.

Whether Yi and Kushina Uzumaki became lovers or remained friends, Mito Uzumaki believed he would be able to help her suppress the Nine-Tails within her.

Both the Sharingan and Sealing Jutsu were powerful means of suppressing the Nine-Tails.

Still, some of the village's recent actions worried Mito Uzumaki. She knew about the Wood Release Experiment, but she doubted it had much chance of success. Yet she could not do much to stop it. Sometimes her hands were tied.

After returning home and saying goodbye to Uchiha Mikoto, Yi took out the scroll Tsunade had given him. When he saw what was inside, he was stunned.

The Flying Thunder God Technique. He had never expected Tsunade to get him this jutsu.

Was this what came of joining the Hokage Lineage and making his loyalty clear? They were just giving him the Flying Thunder God Technique?

The Flying Thunder God Technique was extremely difficult to learn, but Yi could not deny it was an excellent jutsu. It was useful both for travel and in combat.

With the Sword of the Thunder God and the Flying Thunder God Technique, was he going to become a little Tobirama Senju?

Yi studied the contents carefully. He soon understood why the Flying Thunder God Technique was so hard to learn and why so few people had mastered it. Its requirements were extraordinarily high.

But he seemed to have everything it required. He could make the Flying Thunder God Technique a focus of his training from now on.

Before he awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, the Flying Thunder God Technique would be an exceptionally powerful jutsu. Even afterward, it would remain useful. After all, Izuna had been caught off guard and killed by it.

Her Byakugan made her identity clear: Hyuga Rinka, Yi's other teammate.

"Hello, I'm Uchiha Yi. I look forward to working with you too." Yi felt a little helpless. This girl seems rather stiff!
