Background / History

Di Tian was one of the Dragon God’s personal guards and previously lived in the Divine Realm. He does not need food to sustain himself, although he can eat. Before trying Gao Ren’s Overlord’s Belly-Filling Leg, he had not eaten his fill since before the Divine Realm’s God Star Ceremony 23.

On the Douluo Continent, Di Tian serves the wounded Silver Dragon King at the Lake of Life. His ultimate ambition is for her to recover, become the Dragon God again, revive the Dragon Race, and allow Soul Beasts to attain godhood 24 28.

Di Tian previously suffered an injury from the Evil Emperor’s Light of Time. The Auspicious Beast believes he has recovered, but his interest in food that cleanses negative conditions prompts her to question whether the wound remains. He denies having any particular reason to ask, leaving its condition unresolved 23.

Appearance

  • Human form: A stern, rugged middle-aged man wearing black robes 22 31.
  • Hair: Long black hair falling down his back, with two conspicuous golden locks beside his face 22.
  • Eyes: His eyes shine brilliant gold when he exerts his authority over Xiong Jun 31.
  • Dragon form: An enormous Golden-Eyed Black Dragon whose head alone measures dozens of meters across 23.

Personality

Di Tian is proud, intimidating, and intolerant of challenges to his authority. He initially rejects Gao Ren’s food because it comes from a human and was obtained at the cost of a Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Beast’s life. His resistance nevertheless collapses when the Auspicious Beast and Scarlet King begin eating in front of him; he claims the gift and its Storage Soul Tool for himself 23.

His devotion to the Silver Dragon King outweighs both personal enjoyment and concern for his reputation. Once Gao Ren’s food offers a way to heal her, Di Tian pursues negotiations with Shrek Academy and willingly humiliates Xiong Jun to preserve Gao Ren’s goodwill 24 25 31.

Di Tian’s affection for the Auspicious Beast is genuine, but his protectiveness can become harsh. He initially rages at Scarlet King for carrying her in his mouth, then asks permission to break her legs after learning about her misconduct. He also displays warmth and humor, reassuring her about his health and later joking about the fright caused by his Reverse Scale’s alarm 24 27 39.

Abilities & Skills

Dragon Transformation

  • Can freely change between human form and his enormous Golden-Eyed Black Dragon form 22 23.
  • Uses Soul Power to draw an Overlord’s Belly-Filling Leg into his dragon mouth 23.
  • Despite his size, a single Belly-Filling Leg makes him feel full, disproving his belief that such a low-ranked human Soul Skill could not affect him 23.

Draconic Pressure

  • Releases heaven-shaking draconic might that causes Scarlet King to tremble 27.
  • Makes his pressure tangible as a golden dome enclosing Xiong Jun 31.
  • Overwhelms Xiong Jun’s resistance until he falls to the ground and begs for mercy 31.

Spatial Travel

  • Opens black spatial fissures and travels through them 31 39.
  • Can transport companions and the Auspicious Beast’s cocoon back to the Lake of Life 40.
  • Limit: Shrek’s Golden Tree interferes with spatial movement. Entering directly is extremely difficult unless his Reverse Scale provides a location to target 39.
  • Leaves Shrek City’s boundaries before opening his return rift to avoid that interference 40.

Spiritual Power and Soul Power Control

  • Shows the Auspicious Beast images of female Ferocious Beasts he has met, supplying references for her human appearance 29.
  • Suspends more than a hundred Pure World Overlord’s Legs in the air with Soul Power 24.
  • Lifts and carries the Auspicious Beast’s golden cocoon with Soul Power 40.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Black Dragon Sword — An enormous sword that materializes in his hand. Its dark-purple sword light severs Xiong Jun’s paw cleanly at the wrist 32.
  • Reverse Scale — Carried by the Auspicious Beast; enables Di Tian to contact her, alerts him to her transformation, and provides the spatial reference needed to reach her inside Shrek 29 39.
  • Storage Soul Tool — Takes the Auspicious Beast’s tool when claiming her drumstick gift, then uses a Storage Soul Tool to produce food for the Silver Dragon King 23 24.
  • Gao Ren’s drumsticks — Eats both Belly-Filling and Healing varieties and supplies Pure World Overlord’s Legs to the Silver Dragon King for her recovery 23 24 35.

Relationships

  • Silver Dragon King — His lord and highest priority. He seeks resources to heal her and follows her decisions concerning negotiations and the Auspicious Beast’s safety 24 28 40.
  • Emperor Auspicious Beast / Three-Eyed Golden Lion — A cherished ward whose safety matters personally to him and to the forest’s fortune. He monitors her through his Reverse Scale and retrieves her after her bloodline evolution begins 24 28 29 39 40.
  • Gao Ren — Initially an objectionable human food-maker, later an important supplier and acknowledged friend. Di Tian invites him into the Great Ferocious Land, supports his Third Soul Ring acquisition, and thanks him for helping the Auspicious Beast 23 29 34 40.
  • Scarlet King — A subordinate held responsible for guarding the Auspicious Beast. Di Tian appoints him to negotiate with Shrek because he already knows Gao Ren 22 24 25.
  • Xiong Jun — A fellow Ferocious Beast whom Di Tian forcibly disciplines after he attacks invited guests. Di Tian repeatedly proposes using his paws for hospitality and healing tests 31 32 35 36.
  • Bi Ji — A healer he summons to restore Xiong Jun’s severed paw. She also cooperates in arranging an Emerald Swan sacrifice for Gao Ren 31 32 34.
  • Zi JI — His junior, a Hell Demon Dragon. According to the Auspicious Beast, he keeps her out of Beast Tides because Pureblood True Dragons are so rare 29.
  • Xuan Zi and Mu En — Shrek leaders with whom he cooperates over Gao Ren and the Auspicious Beast. He explains his teleportation limits when his sudden arrival alarms them 31 39.
  • Evil Emperor — A hostile rival whose Light of Time previously wounded him. Di Tian threatens to prevent him from leaving easily if he returns to the forest 23.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Discovering Gao Ren’s Food

After the Auspicious Beast returns from meeting Gao Ren, Di Tian angrily blames Scarlet King for permitting contact with a human. She takes responsibility and offers drumsticks to placate him. Di Tian first refuses them, then gives in to their aroma and discovers that Gao Ren’s First Soul Skill can make even him feel full 22 23.

Recognizing the potential of the Pure World Overlord’s Leg, he presents it to the Silver Dragon King. Its cleansing effect slightly improves her wounds, prompting him to supply more than a hundred additional legs. Her demand for a continuing supply leads him to assign Scarlet King as Shrek’s negotiator rather than attempt to seize Gao Ren 24 25.

Establishing the Supply Arrangement

Scarlet King reports an agreement for 5,000 drumsticks daily, divided equally between ordinary Overlord Drumsticks and Pure World Overlord’s Legs, with no payment required. Di Tian remains reluctant to expose the Auspicious Beast to human territory, but defers to the Silver Dragon King when she authorizes a visit to request more 27 28.

The Auspicious Beast subsequently persuades Gao Ren to double his daily supply. Her interest in Shrek City keeps her away so long that Di Tian must contact her through his Reverse Scale to bring her home 29.

Hosting Gao Ren at the Lake of Life

Di Tian and the Auspicious Beast invite Gao Ren and Xuan Zi into the Great Ferocious Land. Xiong Jun attacks them after mistaking their arrival for a pursuit of Scarlet King. Di Tian apologizes, overwhelms Xiong Jun, and offers his paws as compensation 29 30 31.

At the Lake of Life, Xiong Jun offers his own paw to spare the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bears prepared as food. Di Tian severs it with the Black Dragon Sword, while Bi Ji heals the injury 32.

Di Tian also supports the planned Emerald Swan sacrifice intended to give Gao Ren a healing Soul Skill and further aid the Silver Dragon King. After tasting the resulting Healing Overlord Leg, he proposes additional tests on Xiong Jun. Before departing, Gao Ren and Xuan Zi obtain life water from him 34 35 36.

Protecting the Evolving Auspicious Beast

When the Auspicious Beast becomes a golden cocoon after eating food produced by Gao Ren’s Self Martial Soul Fusion Skill, Di Tian’s Reverse Scale alerts him. He arrives directly inside Shrek, learns what happened, and briefly considers whether the same food could help his lord evolve. Because the other diners did not undergo the same change, he attributes the result to the Auspicious Beast’s power of destiny 39 40.

Di Tian thanks Gao Ren and transports the cocoon back to the Lake of Life. After hearing his report, the Silver Dragon King orders him to guard the Auspicious Beast until her transformation is complete 40.
