An enormous black maggot burst out of the soil beneath his feet and charged forward with him riding on its back.

The maggot had neither eyes nor a face, but its front end sported a huge, bloody maw lined with fangs. Its thick body was so broad that it would take three or four people linking arms to encircle it.

Like an enormous python, it raced forward carrying the Sacred Envoy,
