Sean replied, "Sovereign, there's no special reason. It's simply because my research into Soul Seeds within the Death Rule runs very deep."
In truth, what he had displayed this time was still only a small portion of his Soul Seed's power. If he had gone all out, the battle just now would have gone even more smoothly.
But he did not dare show anything too outrageous. Being appropriately stronger than an ordinary peak Asura of the Death Rule was just right. It would let him kill the Four Divine Beasts Family's enemies while also making the Death Sovereign regard him more highly.
"Impressive. I truly admire you," the Death Sovereign said with a faint smile. "Perhaps you can become the first Paragon of the Death Rule in all of existence."
"Sovereign, there has never been a Paragon of the Death Rule in this world?" Sean asked.
He had lived for more than a hundred million years and visited many planes, including Hell. Yet he had never heard of Dannington in the Sea of Chaos. That told him that his current era was likely still a very, very long way from Linley's time.
"There has never been one, not even among the Lord Gods," the Death Sovereign said with a sigh. "If you can become a Paragon, perhaps it may even be of some help to my cultivation."
Sean said, "I feel that I'm only one final step away, but I've never been able to break through."
"Many peak experts are like that, not just you. The same is true for those who cultivate other rules and laws." The Death Sovereign smiled, then continued, "Your attainments in the Life Law aren't bad either, are they? What level have you reached?"
"Roughly Asura level," Sean replied.
He was not lying. In fact, not only was his Life Law at the ordinary Asura level, even his Death Rule was only at the ordinary Asura level. It was merely that the profound mysteries formed by fusing his two rules had reached the absolute peak, only one step away from an attainment comparable to a single-rule Paragon.
"Haha, impressive. Impressive."
After saying "impressive" twice in succession, the Death Sovereign was clearly in high spirits. She then opened her right hand, and a black bottle flew toward Sean. "This is your reward. Take it."
Before a Lord God, Sean did not dare extend his divine sense too far. Only when the bottle reached him did he probe it with his divine sense and discover that it contained at least two hundred drops of Death-type Sovereign's Might.
"Thank you, Sovereign." Sean was overjoyed.
Although he possessed Three-element Fusion God Power, it still could not compare to Sovereign's Might of the same attribute. Moreover, unless forced to, he would not use his fusion god power. Doing so would only reveal his true capabilities to his enemies and increase the danger he faced, especially when his enemies were now the most powerful Four Divine Beasts Family in the God Planes.
"The Four Divine Beasts Family dared come to my Nether Mountain. Since you dealt with them, you naturally deserve a reward," the Death Sovereign said indifferently.
After a moment of silence, Sean asked, "Sovereign, I killed so many members of the Four Divine Beasts Family. Will the Four Divine Beasts Lord Gods come after me personally?"
This was what worried him most. According to the original story, as long as one did not kill a Lord God's child, the Lord God would not interfere in disputes between God-level beings. But the Four Divine Beasts Family was the most notorious force in the God Planes. Who knew whether their ancestors were just as unreasonable?
In the original story, there had even been a Death Lord God who attacked a Commander. If the Four Divine Beasts acted the same way, he would have to hide in a Material Plane. But even that was not truly safe. Still, he had no other choice.
The Death Sovereign smiled. "Don't worry. Although the Four Divine Beasts are overbearing, they will not act over such matters, so long as you do not kill the children or grandchildren of the Four Divine Beasts Lord Gods in the future.
"Besides, you are my emissary. If you are killed by a God-level member of the Four Divine Beasts Family, that only means you were not skilled enough. But if a Lord God acts, I will not stand by and do nothing."
"Thank you, Sovereign." Sean bowed again.
Knowing this put him in an excellent mood. At least when he acted again in the future, he would not need to hold back.
The Death Sovereign added, "There are rules even among Lord Gods. Even when acting against God-level beings, they must consider whether there is a Lord God behind them."
Sean smiled. "Then I'll wait for the Four Divine Beasts Family's experts to come and besiege me."
The Death Sovereign glanced at the confident Sean and said indifferently, "Do not be too confident. You successfully killed the Four Divine Beasts Family this time because of your Soul Seed and this Magic Array.
"Next time, if they send several Lord God Emissaries, even if they cannot kill you, once they surround you, they may still have a chance to exile you into Space Turbulence."
"Thank you for the reminder, Sovereign." Sean thought for a moment, then said, "It won't be so easy for them to surround me."
The Death Sovereign smiled. "Don't worry. If you enter Space Turbulence now, I will retrieve you. But you must leave one divine clone outside."
"Thank you, Sovereign. I will separate a divine clone," Sean agreed.
"Enough. I have finished watching the show. Sean, you did very well." The Death Sovereign spoke indifferently again. "Now come to the summit of Nether Mountain immediately. I have another task to assign you."
As soon as she finished speaking, the Death Sovereign Power dispersed and returned to heaven and earth.
"Nether Mountain." Sean looked toward the summit and also saw the earthen-yellow Sovereign Artifact spear beside him.
The Soul Pearl in his mind emitted an intense desire to devour it, but the Death Sovereign might be watching this place at any moment. He did not dare let the Soul Pearl do anything. If it destroyed the Sovereign Artifact, that would be a real disaster.
In the end, he resisted the temptation and left the Sovereign Artifact where it was. The Four Divine Beasts Family already knew that he had killed Tashan. Taking this Sovereign Artifact would only give the Four Divine Beasts Lord Gods a reason to seek him out personally.
If the Soul Pearl truly devoured this Sovereign Artifact and he could not produce it later, then if the Four Divine Beasts Lord Gods killed him on the spot, even the Death Sovereign likely would have no way to intervene.
At the summit of Nether Mountain, when Sean arrived, he discovered that aside from Torres, there was also a burly man clad entirely in black. He was Audebeu, the Death Sovereign's first Lord God Emissary, who possessed two Sovereign Artifacts.
"Sean?" Audebeu glanced at him and smiled. "Not bad. Torres told me your Death Rule is very strong. When should we have a spar?"
"Sure." Sean nodded, but did not take it too seriously.
What was there to spar over? This fellow had a Soul Defense Lord God Artifact, which completely countered him. Of course, Sean was not afraid of him either.
"Audebeu, in terms of accomplishments in the soul, you are no match for Sean." The Death Sovereign's voice suddenly rang out.
"Greetings, Sovereign." The three men knelt in succession toward the front of the hall.
"Rise," the Death Sovereign said calmly.
"Thank you, Sovereign." The three immediately stood.
The Death Sovereign continued, "Audebeu, Torres, you should know why I summoned you here. Tell Sean."
"Yes." After accepting the order, Audebeu looked at Sean. "Sean, do you know about Plane Wars?"
"Plane Wars? I do." Sean quickly understood and asked, "Is the Netherworld's Plane War about to begin?"
