Arc 13The Living Saint’s Crusade

Saul led the Sons of Sorrow through the Badab conflict, defeated Huron’s Chaos fleet, and was declared the Living Saint Ember before rebuilding his Chapter into a vast force. He split the Sons of Sorrow between the Tyranid war and the Damocles Crusade, where his campaign against the T'au stalled amid devastating guerrilla attacks on Dal'yth Prime.

  • Saul rejected special status at his coming-of-age ceremony, but after Van Helsing accused him of heresy, Saul’s golden flames exposed the Inquisitor’s crimes and left the Sons of Sorrow disillusioned with the Imperium.
  • When the High Lords sent the Minotaurs to destroy the Sons of Sorrow, Saul defeated Asterion Moloc and stopped the battle, but the High Lords branded the Chapter rebels and ordered Exterminatus.

Saul’s forces conquered the T'au defenses at Dalis but suffered devastating losses in the T'au ambush at Viola, where Saul halted the campaign after a volcanic catastrophe. He awakened the Ember Legion on XR-734 and sent Ghazghk and Sharpfang to exploit the T'au network, leaving the Strong Shield-01 system blind and its minefield as their next target.

  • Disguised Astartes destroyed a Vespid raiding force, and Shadowsun discovered that Imperial soldiers were using hidden weapons to ambush T'au teams.

Arc 15The Fall of T'au

Ghazghk’s Gretchin crippled the T'au defenses while Saul’s Imperial forces conquered Sa'cea and killed Aun'Ve. The T'au gathered at their homeworld, where the Imperial invasion began despite the planetary shield and fierce resistance.

  • Ghazghk’s Logic Blenders confused the T'au minefield’s Watcher AIs, causing the mines to attack Korsar’s fleet and destroy most of it.

  • The Company Captain called down three Imperial Knights, helping the Sons of Sorrow break through the T’au defenses as Saul led attacks on the shield generators.
