Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Self-developed Shadow Clone Technique 2 Uses clones for training while his reincarnation system remains inactive; already studies advanced sealing techniques independently.
Five basic chakra natures demonstrated 4 At ten years old, defeats the Toad King with five Shadow Clones simultaneously using basic elemental techniques.
Mount Myōboku training completed; Perfect Sage Mode 5 6 Completes three years of senjutsu, ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu training by thirteen. Fukasaku estimates him among the world’s top hundred shinobi, though physically immature and inexperienced; Perfect Sage Mode is demonstrated against Daigu.
Basic Mind’s Eye of the Kagura 10 Learns from Mito to identify chakra within five kilometers. Initially requires stillness and concentration, making it unsuitable for combat.
Chidori / Lightning Blade 23 Revealed to have developed the technique while researching Lightning Release in the Demon Slayer world.
Six Eyes acquired 22 Mission reward adapted to chakra; grants panoramic perception, atomic-level chakra control, seal-free casting of sufficiently simple ninjutsu, and continuous use of his previously limited sensory technique.
Storm Release: Beam Saber 24 25 Creates lightning–water fusion through precise control rather than an inherited kekkei genkai. Can reshape the beam into a whip, writing, or moving figures.
Initial Wood Release reproduction 25 Produces only a small sapling after studying Hashirama’s technique; lacks Hashirama’s exceptionally strong yang chakra and Sage Body.
Ninjutsu efficiency improved 27 Removes unnecessary activation steps, reducing chakra consumption to roughly three-quarters of its previous cost; also researches faster chakra recovery.
Lava Release and Dragon Vein–powered Wood Golem 34 35 Uses a Lava Release Rasenshuriken against Shukaku, then draws on Rōran’s Dragon Vein to supply the chakra needed for the Wood Human Technique. The external supply is not his normal reserve.
Shukaku jinchūriki bond 36 37 Shukaku unexpectedly transfers chakra into him. Gains an additional chakra supply, accelerated healing, and access to Shukaku’s Wind Release and Magnet Release sealing techniques.
Light-Weight Rock Technique 38 Learns Ishikawa’s flight technique by observing its operation with the Six Eyes.
Magnet Release transport and Hydrification 39 Shapes gold dust into a flying boat; demonstrates Hydrification by expelling alcohol while pretending to be drunk.
Kokuō and Son Goku chakra received 41 Each voluntarily gives him one-tenth of their chakra while retaining most of their power and independence.
Lava Release and Steam Armor combat applications 54 Uses heat-based techniques to counter Esdeath’s Mahapadma during their duel.
Dust Release learned; extended Sage Mode 60 Copies Mu’s completed Dust Release after one demonstration. Tailed-beast support prolongs Sage Mode, although his enormous senjutsu-enhanced Dust Release attack still exhausts his available chakra.
Nine-Tails sealed within him 64 71 Initially cannot use the uncooperative Nine-Tails’ power; later demonstrates tailed-beast chakra protection, and eventually uses a Nine-Tails-powered Rasengan.
Yamato and sword-only Projection Magecraft received 81 Gains the space-cutting sword as a mission reward. Projection Magecraft is supplied in a transferable bead, not documented as a technique he personally masters.
Spatial sword attacks and first interworld portal 83 84 Combines Yamato with Dimensional Formation for teleporting slashes. An accidental portal reaches another Naruto world under exceptional conditions; reliable interworld travel remains beyond him at this stage.
Yamato mastered 88 After six months of training, performs Judgment Cut End, opens portals within his world, and develops Storm Release techniques reproducing Vergil’s attacks. Judgment Cut cannot be absorbed as chakra.
Six Paths Senjutsu and Six Paths Mode 101 102 Completes extensive secluded training during his two-year absence. Combines tailed-beast power with Six Paths Senjutsu and manifests eight Truth-Seeking Orbs, skipping intermediate Kurama-focused modes.
Universe in the Sleeve received 106 Receives the genuine technique as an emergency-mission reward; must learn it through practice.
Unlimited Void demonstrated 122 Incapacitates Jose by overwhelming his mind, leaving him mentally ruined rather than killing him.
Acnologia’s power absorbed 122 Petrifies Acnologia with unbalanced natural energy, seals his soul inside himself, survives the Reaper Death Seal through a Substitute Doll, then destroys Acnologia’s mind and absorbs his power.
Momoshiki absorbed 122 Uses his newly acquired strength to defeat and absorb Momoshiki in Obito’s world.
Jigen/Isshiki abilities acquired 122 Returns home, defeats Jigen/Isshiki, and acquires their abilities.

Background / History

Uzumaki Gamu was originally a college graduate who could not find suitable employment and worked delivering food. He died after being struck by a Dayun-brand cargo truck. Yama rewarded his lifetime of good deeds with reincarnation, allowing him to choose both his destination world and his birth clan. He selected the Naruto world and the Uzumaki clan, becoming Gamu Uzumaki, a son of clan leader Ashina 1.

Born during the Warring States period, he retained memories of his previous life and knowledge of Naruto’s expected history. His family had already lost several children to war. Around the age of nine, he met the young Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha at a river and began a friendship that would substantially alter their futures 1 2 4.

With his system initially inactive, Uzumaki Gamu relied on independent training, sealing studies, and techniques reconstructed from his knowledge. At ten, he pursued Mount Myōboku through an uncontracted Summoning Technique, reaching it on his thirty-ninth attempt. A prophecy secured his acceptance as a student of Fukasaku and Shima, and he spent three years training there before returning to his clan 2 4 5.

Appearance

  • Red hair and Gojo-like features: Resembles a young Satoru Gojo apart from his original hair and eye colors 1.
  • Changing eyes: His reddish-brown eyes become icy blue after he receives the Six Eyes 22.
  • Youthful appearance: Otherworld time differences leave him barely changed while Mito and his contemporaries grow older; after his first six-year absence, Mito is taller than him 23 24 57.
  • Sunglasses: Wears them in the Jujutsu Kaisen world to conceal his Six Eyes and avoid being mistaken for Gojo’s illegitimate son 68.
  • Red leather coat: Purchases a custom outfit modeled on Dante’s Devil May Cry 5 appearance, choosing red to complement his hair 68.
  • Six Paths manifestation: Appears with eight Truth-Seeking Orbs floating behind him when confronting the Ōtsutsuki 102.

Personality

Uzumaki Gamu values survival, leisure, good food, travel, and personal freedom more than status. He rejects clan leadership and official village positions, preferring to leave administration to Hashirama, Madara, and Tobirama. His early peace plan is partly self-interested: he wants a world safe enough to enjoy without constant warfare 2 3 6 63.

His apparent laziness coexists with sustained technical work. He trains through clones, researches chakra efficiency, invents combined releases, and spends six months mastering Yamato. He is also conspicuously theatrical, choosing elaborate sword combinations because they look impressive even when a single strike would suffice 2 24 27 88.

He is affectionate toward family and willing to protect strangers, but not consistently gentle. He treats tailed beasts as people and respects Hikari’s freedom, yet openly enjoys tormenting corrupt officials. His treatment of Honest and manipulation of Oka show that his pursuit of justice can become cruel and personally entertaining 36 43 50 51.

Uzumaki Gamu is vain, flirtatious, and often tactless. Although he recognizes the importance of compatibility and consent when considering marriage, he also persistently pursues Mirajane after she rejects him and abruptly asks Erza out. He eventually accepts Hikari and Esdeath as family, while acknowledging that Kallen’s admiration may be directed more toward his impersonation of Lelouch than his actual personality 43 106 115.

Threats to loved ones gradually make him more serious about strength. Momoshiki’s escape changes training from a means of enjoying freedom into a responsibility necessary to protect his household 106.

Abilities & Skills

Six Eyes

The Six Eyes supply exceptional perception and chakra precision rather than automatically granting an inventory of new techniques 22.

  • Provide a continuously active 360-degree field of vision, long-distance observation, and inspection of internal anatomy and chakra flow 22 23.
  • Reveal structural weaknesses, allowing Lightning Blade to break Jun’s bone armor at its tiny flaws 23.
  • Enable instant, seal-free casting when a technique’s complexity is within his control 22 25.
  • Let him understand a technique’s operating process and reproduce it, as demonstrated with Light-Weight Rock and Dust Release 25 38 60.
  • Do not eliminate experimentation: inventing Storm Release requires finding the right proportions and then shaping the fused chakra 25.
  • Initially make ordinary vision disorienting; focusing on a single direction requires conscious effort 22.
  • Do not grant Gojo’s Limitless defense merely because he possesses the Six Eyes 23 37.

Senjutsu and Frog Kata

Uzumaki Gamu completes Mount Myōboku’s senjutsu curriculum and achieves Perfect Sage Mode 5 6.

  • Frog Kata: Extends attacks beyond their visible physical reach; a clone uses it to knock out Daigu 6.
  • Sage Art: Goemon: Combines the Toad King’s oil, Uzumaki Gamu’s Fire Release, and a clone’s Wind Release to engulf a wide battlefield 23.
  • Enhanced ninjutsu: Applies senjutsu to Swamp of the Underworld, Dust Release, and other attacks 60.
  • Tailed-beast support: Uses his internal allies to sustain Sage Mode longer than he could independently 60.
  • Six Paths Senjutsu: Later supports Six Paths Mode, enhanced Rasengan attacks, and Truth-Seeking Orb weapons and barriers 102 103.

Elemental Ninjutsu and Combined Releases

  • Five basic natures: Uses elemental variety from childhood, including coordinated clone attacks 4.
  • Water Dragon Bullet: Demonstrates a three-seal version instead of the conventional forty-four-seal sequence and teaches it to Tobirama 7.
  • Rasengan: Uses it in combat, teaches it to Yuji, and even employs it to knead dough 6 74 122.
  • Lightning Blade: Reconstructs the piercing Lightning Release technique during his Demon Slayer training 23.
  • Machine-Gun Thunder Arrow: Improvises rapid fingertip lightning shots to counter Hozuki Zangetsu’s Water Gun attacks 23.
  • Storm Release: Creates a controllable beam weapon, whips, shaped figures, and later techniques modeled on Vergil’s attacks 24 25 88.
  • Wood Release: Can produce clones and a Wood Golem, but early large-scale use depends on the Dragon Vein’s external chakra supply 25 34 35 54.
  • Lava Release and Steam Armor: Supplies destructive heat-based attacks and a counter to Esdeath’s time-stopping technique 34 54.
  • Magnet Release: Uses gold dust for airborne transport and gains additional sealing applications through Shukaku 37 39.
  • Dust Release: Learns Mu’s three-nature fusion and uses it to disintegrate the Three-Tails and its Tailed Beast Bomb; the enormous attack drains him despite his improved reserves 60.

Tailed-Beast Bonds and Chakra

Uzumaki Gamu builds cooperation with tailed beasts instead of treating them solely as captive weapons 36 41.

  • Shukaku: Establishes his first jinchūriki bond by unexpectedly transferring chakra into him 36.
  • Kokuō and Son Goku: Voluntarily contribute one-tenth of their chakra each 41.
  • Nine-Tails: Initially refuses cooperation while sealed inside him, but later assists against Mara and powers major attacks 64 100 122.
  • Recovery: Tailed-beast chakra accelerates healing and reduces his earlier vulnerability to physical injury 37 43.
  • Defense: Uses tailed-beast chakra to protect himself and the school during the Futsu-no-Mitama/Hollow Purple experiment 71.
  • Privacy risk: Shukaku’s access to his inner world allows glimpses of memories Uzumaki Gamu would rather conceal 37.

Clones, Disguises, and Genjutsu

  • Shadow Clones: Handle training, teaching, scouting, decoys, and coordinated attacks 2 8 22 63.
  • Wood Clones: Undertake long-running assignments while his original body trains or relaxes, including political operations and house renovations 84 101 115.
  • Transformation and impersonation: Maintains convincing appearances as the Little Emperor, Lelouch, and the Third Prince 48 91 94.
  • Layered deception: Uses an explosive-tag Earth Clone, underground movement, and hidden clones during his spar with Hashirama 8.
  • Mental manipulation: Suppresses Oka’s reason through genjutsu and strengthens Dieter Harte’s enthusiasm through suggestive speech 51 98.
  • Body-sharing tactics: Allows Shukaku to control his body as Batman while a clone maintains another identity elsewhere 53.

Sealing, Barriers, and Mental Techniques

  • Sealing expertise: Studies advanced Uzumaki sealing material before Ashina formally assigns it 2.
  • Curse-binding seal: Immobilizes Syura before he can activate Shangri-La 54.
  • Storage seals: Packs several cargo planes’ worth of purchases into nested scrolls 81.
  • Defensive barriers: Shields Tokyo Jujutsu High from an enormous explosion, although the barriers shatter 71.
  • Unlimited Void: Leaves Jose permanently mentally incapacitated 122.
  • Reaper Death Seal: Captures Acnologia’s soul inside himself; survives its otherwise fatal cost by using a Substitute Doll 122.

Spatial Movement and Yamato Swordsmanship

  • Shangri-La: Teleports himself and Esdeath to an isolated island for their duel, avoiding damage to the capital 54.
  • Dimensional Formation: Combines with Yamato to produce rapid, teleporting slashes 83.
  • Judgment Cut and Judgment Cut End: Masters spatial cutting attacks that are not chakra and therefore cannot be absorbed by the Rinnegan’s chakra-absorption mechanism 88.
  • Local portals: Eventually travels directly to destinations such as Mount Myōboku without reverse summoning 88.
  • Separation: Uses Yamato to expel energy and souls absorbed by Mara’s clone, turning its accumulated power against it 100.
  • Interworld restrictions: His first cross-world portal requires exceptional alignment and simultaneous force. At that stage, Wheel estimates he needs four times his strength to cut a barrier randomly, and seven times that threshold plus spatial understanding for reliable travel; authorization is also required 84.

Taijutsu, Healing, and Instruction

  • Hand-to-hand versatility: Combines throws, Frog Kata, Wing Chun, chakra-powered blows, and Monster Strength 8 103.
  • Medical applications: Restores Nunnally’s sight and later mobility, heals sparring partners, and treats Esdeath after defeating her 54 91 101 74.
  • Harsh training methods: Preserves Yuji’s mind and repeatedly reconstructs his body while Sukuna dismembers him in their inner-world training 71.
  • Technique development for students: Teaches Yuji the Rasengan and encourages Megumi to expand the offensive and defensive applications of shadows 74.
  • Shadow Imitation: Bypasses Limitless by targeting Gojo’s shadow; the link depends on shadow shape and reach and can be disrupted by changing the lighting 74.
  • Civilian uses of chakra: Advocates cooking, farming, construction, and technological development rather than treating chakra chiefly as a weapon 6 24 68.
