Uchiha Fugaku opened his bloodshot Sharingan and blearily raised his head toward the glaring sun in the sky.
Though the sunlight was dazzling, it seemed especially dim to Fugaku, whose heart had sunk into despair.
Every last shred of hope had long since vanished amid repeated disappointments. Now, Fugaku no longer knew what he should do.

For the first time since becoming clan head, he felt utterly helpless, able only to watch his clan's genius lie in a hospital bed.
At that moment, Fugaku wanted nothing more than to go home, bury himself in Mikoto's arms, and get some proper sleep. He was truly exhausted from working for the clan.
So he replied to Kakashi, "All right, you should head back first. I'm proud that Obito has such good friends."
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Uchiha Fugaku turned and headed into the hospital. He still had some instructions to give the nurses.
After all, neither he nor Shizune could stay by Obito's side indefinitely. One was a Konoha elder and the head of a major clan; the other was currently Konoha's finest doctor.
Both were busy every day and had no time to care for Obito, so they could only entrust that responsibility to the nurses.

Meeting Uchiha Fugaku's puzzled gaze as he turned back, Kakashi hesitated for a while before finally saying, "Clan Head Fugaku, I know someone else who might be able to help Obito."
