Background / History
Ye Qing discovers Chimchar’s unusually large egg among the cheaper, grimier stock at an egg gambling market. His inspection ability reveals B+ potential, but also a weakened condition caused by the damaged shell. Despite his precarious state, Chimchar continues striking the shell from within. Ye Qing chooses the egg and brings it home in an incubator 4 5.
Aunt Wang’s Blissey treats the damaged egg with her healing power and a piece of her own egg. Ye Qing follows the incubator’s instructions, researches Chimchar’s diet and care, and keeps him company before hatching 6 7.
Upon hatching, Chimchar recognizes Ye Qing by scent. His first greeting quickly turns into a prank: he points his rear toward Ye Qing and pulls a face. His arrival astonishes Ye Qing’s classmates and delights the family, who had not expected the purchased egg to contain a starter Pokémon 7 8.
His first evolution occurs in the Safari Zone after Vigoroth repeatedly injures him and threatens Ye Qing. Regretting his earlier laziness and inability to protect his trainer, Chimchar evolves into Monferno. Ye Qing remains concerned that the cracked egg might have caused lasting harm, but Monferno shakes his head when asked about adverse effects, and his new status panel lists him as healthy 54.
He subsequently evolves into Infernape and develops a bond-based transformation unique to his partnership with Ye Qing. The phenomenon first manifests incompletely during the crisis involving Kyurem, then becomes a reproducible combat form used in later major battles 190 365 387 775 1023.
Appearance
- Height at hatching: Just over thirty centimeters 7.
- Fur: Mostly orange 7.
- Eyes: Large and bright 7.
- Rear flame: A small red flame, described as being fueled by internal gas and remaining lit even in water 7.
- Expressive flame: Flares higher when his fighting spirit rises; spreads over his body when Blaze activates 9 38 40.
- Monferno form: Grows to over a meter tall, with sturdier limbs, a long, slender, powerful tail, and vivid blue-and-red facial markings 54.
- Infernape form: Has a well-proportioned, predominantly reddish-brown body and golden, cloud-shaped armor on his shoulders, arms, and knees. The tail flame is replaced by a fiercely burning crimson blaze atop his head 190.
- Bond Form: Flames flow down from his head into a robe or cape, while lava solidifies into armor over his body’s vital areas 982 1023.
- Enhanced Fire Punch manifestation: A Flaming Giant Ape appears behind him when he performs the enhanced attack. In a later Blaze state, this manifestation grows from over three meters to nearly five meters tall 553 1024.
Personality
Chimchar is mischievous, intensely curious, and quick to show off. Within minutes of hatching, he explores the house and makes a mess. He celebrates successful attacks with smug poses and readily laughs at Ye Qing’s failed Thomas Flair demonstration 7 9 44.
He enjoys affection and companionship, rubbing his cheek against Ye Qing’s arm when petted. Long periods inside a Poké Ball frustrate him, and he frequently climbs onto Ye Qing’s shoulder or head after being released. Although initially nervous before a crowded classroom, he readily jumps into Ye Qing’s mother’s arms at home 7 8 20 43.
Food is a powerful incentive: Pokéblocks distract him from mischief, reward his training, and persuade him to cooperate with bathing. His enthusiasm can be overbearing—when he mistakes an offered Pokéblock for a trade, he stuffs his own Pokémon Food into Ye Qing’s mouth 7 9 13 45.
His fierce fighting spirit coexists with a tendency to evade work. He courageously confronts the bullies’ Pokémon, but later exploits unsupervised training time to make other Pokémon serve him. When exposed, he convincingly pretends to have been practicing Fire Punch 30 43 47.
His protective attachment to Ye Qing becomes a decisive motive for growth. During the Vigoroth pursuit, he bitterly regrets having fooled around instead of becoming stronger. After evolving and defeating Vigoroth, however, he immediately adopts a cocky, dismissive manner toward his trainer, folding his arms and holding a twig in his mouth 54.
His taste for showing off persists as Infernape. While practicing his strengthening routine, he experiments with bodybuilding poses and seeks Lairon’s opinion on whether he looks sufficiently manly. He also remembers past humiliation, mocking and thoroughly beating the Vigoroth that once overpowered him 243 451.
Despite his irreverence, he is deeply concerned for Ye Qing’s safety. After saving him from Kyurem, he relaxes only once he sees that his trainer is safe. During the Fighting-type Gym battles, he anxiously checks on Ye Qing because he knows his own setbacks will be inflicted on his trainer as well 365 384.
His confidence eventually extends to formidable opponents: when facing Kangaskhan, he recalls that he dared strike Kyurem and refuses to be intimidated by the possibility of a two-on-one battle after Mega Evolution 874.
Abilities & Skills
Blaze
Blaze greatly strengthens Fire-type moves once injuries become sufficiently severe 39 40.
- Activates during the battle against Zhang Qiang’s Charmander, engulfing Chimchar in flames 40.
- Enables his first successful execution of the incompletely mastered Flame Wheel 40.
- Remains listed in his Monferno and early Infernape status panels, and is listed again after his fusion with Sacred Fire and the Red Orb 54 190 596.
- Can operate during Bond Form: against Walker’s incoming Blastoise, his Blaze-powered enhanced Fire Punch produces a Flaming Giant Ape nearly five meters tall 1024.
Ember
Chimchar learns Ember unusually quickly after watching an official Pokémon League tutorial, though producing a sustained stream requires further attempts 8 9.
- Defeats Rattata with a close-range barrage after grabbing him 10.
- Exchanges fire with Ekans’s Poison Sting 13.
- Ignites Charmander’s flammable Smokescreen, causing an explosion that damages both combatants 39.
- Extended use drains his stamina; Ekans’s constriction prevents him from concentrating enough to unleash it 9 13.
- Neutralizes Vigoroth’s Yawn bubbles and intercepts Vigoroth when he lunges toward Ye Qing 53.
Fire Punch
An inherited move that initially exceeds Chimchar’s muscular strength and control over Fire-type energy. Training makes it usable by level 7 5 9.
- Shatters a football-sized rock during practice 9.
- Delivers the finishing blow against Fearow and burns Ekans’s tail 12 13.
- Sends fire along Bulbasaur’s vines while Chimchar holds them in place 38.
- Consumes substantial stamina, making Fury Swipes a more efficient choice against the Fire-type Charmander 12 39.
- Sends a pursuing Beedrill flying after a Fake Out opening, and damages Vigoroth despite the latter’s greater strength 53 54.
- Becomes his specifically enhanced move in the completed bond state, with its power doubled 387.
- Manifests a Flaming Giant Ape whose fist mirrors his strike. The enhanced punch drives back Mega Charizard X, although Belly Drum and Tough Claws still give that opponent the overall advantage in attack power 553.
- Gains a further visible increase when combined with Blaze in Bond Form, producing a giant fist almost as large as Blastoise 1024.
Flame Wheel
Chimchar curls into a ball and rolls forward enveloped in fire. Arcanine teaches him the move, but he does not fully master it until reaching level 11 27 40 42.
- Knocks Zhang Qiang’s Charmander out of the Battle Ring while empowered by Blaze 40.
- Continues through Charmander’s Ember barrage, which slows but does not interrupt it 40.
- Resolves his earlier difficulty rapidly closing the distance to an opponent 42.
- Knocks a Beedrill away during the Safari Zone pursuit 53.
- Follows Mach Punch in Monferno’s decisive post-evolution combination against Vigoroth 54.
Scratch and Fury Swipes
His claw attacks provide close-range offense without relying entirely on Fire-type moves 8 39.
- Scratch leaves marks nearly two millimeters deep in a tree trunk during his first training session 8.
- Fury Swipes forces Ekans to spit out Swablu 14.
- Uses Fury Swipes and Fire Punch to slow Ye Qing’s fall, leaving both alive on a tree branch 16.
- Deflects some of Charmander’s incoming embers with Fury Swipes 40.
- Develops exceptional proficiency through long-term practice, including three or four days digging through rock on Fossil Mountain until his claws shed several layers of skin 236.
- Uses Fury Swipes when both he and Blaziken lack the stamina for stronger attacks 236.
- Against Machamp, switches from blocked Mach Punches to still faster Fury Swipes, cutting bloody streaks across the opponent’s face 379.
Quick Guard
An inherited defensive move that creates a transparent shield before Chimchar 5 10.
- Blocks the wild Rattata’s opening ambush 10.
- In this setting, only blocks close-range moves and can fail when the difference in strength is too great 39.
- Stops Vigoroth’s claw attack long enough for a retaliatory Fire Punch 54.
- As Infernape, produces a blue barrier that withstands Mega Charizard X’s Dragon Claw without shattering, although the transmitted impact cracks the ground beneath him 553.
Fake Out and Encore
These inherited moves disrupt an opponent’s actions and create openings for follow-up attacks 5 13 39.
- Fake Out: Intercepts Ekans’s ambush and interrupts Charmander’s attempted Dragon Dance with a sudden slap 13 39.
- Encore: Restricts Charmander to Scratch for several seconds, allowing Chimchar to retaliate repeatedly with Fury Swipes 39.
- Fake Out combinations: Uses Fake Out to set up Fire Punch against Beedrill and later opens his command-free battle against Machamp with Fake Out followed by Mach Punch 53 379.
- Later Encore use: Targets Charizard after its trainer orders Double Team, exploiting the timing of the opponent’s evasive move 522.
Double Team
Learned through an eight-thousand-yuan TM purchased by Ye Qing 43 45.
- Initially cannot activate the move despite understanding its method; Ye Qing has him sprint at maximum speed to trigger it 45.
- First produces two brief afterimages, then becomes thoroughly proficient through independent training 45 46.
- Produces three afterimages against Vigoroth, allowing him to evade Hammer Arm and counter with Fire Punch 53.
Counter Shield
A combined offensive and defensive technique built around rapid rotation while using Ember, spreading the attack around Chimchar instead of concentrating it in one direction 43 44.
- Uses the Thomas Flair as the foundation for his spinning motion 44.
- His first attempt produces a sweeping flame whip, but loss of control throws him out of the rotation and burns his legs 44.
- Becomes thoroughly proficient by level 13 46.
- Ye Qing develops it principally for bounded arenas, anticipating uses against fast and Flying-type opponents 43.
- Later performs a Flamethrower-based version against Wangchen’s Heracross, sweeping flame around himself while surrounded by more than a dozen Double Team images. Wangchen is surprised by the technique but identifies a weakness after observing it 371.
Agility and Flame Control
- Climbs trees nimbly and uses the canopy to reach Fearow’s back 11.
- Can support his entire body with one hand while practicing the Thomas Flair 44.
- Can adjust the temperature of his body flame so his trainer can touch it without feeling heat 7.
- Dodges Psyduck’s Water Gun without waiting for Ye Qing’s command, redirecting the danger toward the pursuing Beedrill 53.
- His incomplete bond transformation melts the ice imprisoning Haunter nearby 365.
Fighting-type Techniques
- Mach Punch: Learned immediately upon evolving into Monferno. Its speed lets him reach Vigoroth and strike before the opponent can react 54.
- Low Kick and Focus Punch: Listed among his tutored moves by his evolution into Infernape. Ye Qing later orders Focus Punch while he struggles with Mamoswine during the Kyurem crisis 190 363.
- Close Combat: Channels violent energy through his limbs and tail for a sustained barrage. Uses it against Machamp and Mega Charizard X; Ye Qing accepts its defensive penalties when the latter already possesses overwhelming attack power 384 553.
- Bulk Up: Raises Attack and Defense through a flexing stance. Uses repeated boosts while paralyzed against Electrode and later to compensate for Blaziken’s accumulating Speed Boost advantage 253 794.
Expanded Infernape Move Pool
| Category | Additional documented moves | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Basic moves | Feint, Close Combat, Flare Blitz | Listed in his level 35 Infernape status panel 190. |
| Basic moves | Fire Spin | Added to the documented basic move list by level 58 596. |
| Tutored moves | Iron Tail, Low Kick, Focus Punch, Thunder Punch | Listed by level 35 and retained in subsequent panels 190 234 596. |
| TM moves | Protect, Flamethrower | Listed alongside Double Team by level 35 190. |
| TM moves | Bulk Up | Demonstrated against Electrode and later recorded in his move list 253 365. |
| Later learned move | Fire Blast Flame | Learned during the month of special training in which he reaches level 75 996. |
- Iron Tail: Uses it against wild opponents during large battles and against the Vigoroth group during his Safari Zone return 360 451.
- Thunder Punch: Strikes Mega Charizard X after Roost, immediately following with Mach Punch 553.
- Flare Blitz: Overpowers Charizard’s Dragon Claw in a direct collision, sending the opponent tumbling through the air 522.
- Protect: Prevents Claydol’s Hyper Beam from potentially knocking him out in one hit and later blocks Blaziken’s Brave Bird before a Mach Punch counter 585 794.
Battle Bond and Bond Form
Infernape’s bond phenomenon is tied specifically to Ye Qing. Its first documented status identifies it as incomplete; Ye Qing compares its development to the staged emergence of Ash-Greninja’s bond phenomenon. At that initial manifestation, Infernape is already severely injured and has only enough strength for a single staff strike to save his trainer from Kyurem 365.
- Initial state: Records S− potential and the ability Incomplete Battle Bond Transformation 365.
- Developed state: Later records S potential, Battle Bond, and a base stat total of 644, with doubled Fire Punch power 387.
- Staff: The early staff strike does not deal energy damage and is unaffected by type matchups, but still delivers powerful physical impact 387.
- Lava club: In later Bond Form combat, summons a club dozens of meters long and smashes it into the ground, overturning charging riders and mounts 775.
- Armor and cape: Lava hardens into protective armor while flames form a flowing robe or cape 982 1023.
- Trainer synchronization: Attempts to sense Ye Qing’s inner voice during the battle with Garchomp, but refrains from transforming when he realizes his trainer does not want it 412.
- Blaze compatibility: Uses Blaze while already in Bond Form during the battle sequence against Walker’s Pokémon 1024.
Tactical Independence and Trainer Synchronization
Ye Qing and Infernape develop enough mutual understanding that a brief instruction or glance can communicate a battle plan. Their training under Lion specifically pursues mind-body unity, moving from meditation to using aura to understand each other’s intentions 371 382.
- Battles Machamp without commands under the Fighting-type Gym’s rules, independently combining Fake Out, Mach Punch, and Fury Swipes 379.
- Learns to devise independent strategies through repeated harsh sparring with Latios 794.
- Against a faster Blaziken, repeatedly uses Bulk Up rather than chasing recklessly, then blocks the impatient opponent’s Brave Bird with Protect and counters with Mach Punch 794.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Great Ball: Ye Qing recalls Chimchar into a Great Ball while aboard Team R’s transport 20.
- Held item history: None in his initial status panels and subsequent Monferno and early Infernape panels 5 7 9 54 190 234.
- Fire-type Pokémon Food and Basic Pokéblocks: His regular provisions and frequent training rewards. At level 14, he still cannot handle the nutrients and energy in Intermediate or Advanced Pokéblocks 8 9 50.
- Super Potion: Used to treat the burns from his failed Counter Shield practice 44.
- Environmental Simulation System: Ye Qing selects its volcanic environment for Flame Wheel training. The abundant Fire-type energy makes Chimchar visibly comfortable and excited 41.
- Sacred Fire: Listed as his held item in the level 46 Battle Bond panel. Later explicitly identified as Ho-Oh’s Sacred Fire and described as fused with his body 387 596.
- Red Orb: Fuses with him alongside Sacred Fire, producing profound internal changes and accompanying his advancement to level 58 596.
- Charcoal: Listed as his held item in the level 58 status panel 596.
- Bond Form staff/club: A weapon manifested during his bond transformation, later appearing as a lava club dozens of meters long 365 387 775.
Relationships
- Ye Qing — Trainer and primary companion. Chimchar recognizes his scent at hatching and responds to his encouragement when frightened by Ekans. Their affectionate bond includes frequent arguments, pranks, food rewards, and disciplinary confinement in his Poké Ball. His desire to protect Ye Qing drives his first evolution and later bond transformation; the pair train to understand each other through aura 7 13 20 47 54 365 382.
- Ye Menghan — Plays with Chimchar and volunteers to wash him when he resists bathing. Continues playing with him after he becomes Monferno and later accompanies Ye Qing during the Safari Zone return 43 45 64 450.
- Ye Qing’s parents — Welcome him enthusiastically; Ye Qing’s mother holds him and later warns her son to be gentle while bathing him 8 45.
- Aunt Wang’s Blissey — Heals his cracked egg before he hatches 6.
- Arcanine — Teaches him Flame Wheel during Ye Qing’s infiltration of Team R 27.
- Su Yiqin’s Swablu, Xiao Qing — Helps him fight Fearow and Ekans. Chimchar later forces Ekans to release her after she is swallowed 11 13 14.
- Wang Yao — Records Chimchar’s misconduct in the Volcanic Zone. Chimchar bares his teeth at him after realizing the footage exposed his deception 47.
- Wang Yao’s Treecko — Frequent sparring opponent during the intensive training preceding the Safari Zone trip 50.
- Vigoroth — A mischievous Safari Zone opponent whose attacks force Chimchar and Ye Qing to flee. The crisis triggers Chimchar’s evolution into Monferno. On their later return, Infernape finds and thoroughly beats the same Vigoroth, now far weaker than himself 53 54 450 451.
- Kirlia — Cheers for Infernape during his battle with Blaziken; he looks back to reassure her despite his injuries. Later rushes Hypno when Ye Qing is attacked and Kirlia is restrained 235 255.
- Haunter / Gengar — Fellow team member. Infernape’s first bond transformation melts Haunter’s ice prison, and the two later fight together in their transformed states against dangerous opponents 365 585 775.
- Lion — Fighting-type Gym Leader who trains Ye Qing and Infernape in synchronization and aura-based understanding. His Gym’s battles test the trust and courage between trainer and Pokémon 379 382.
- Garchomp — Fellow team member who overwhelms Infernape during a sandstorm battle and later knocks him into the house while Azurill is hatching 412 454.
- Aggron — Fellow team member. Earlier, Infernape seeks his opinion on a bodybuilding pose while he is still Lairon; later Aggron intercepts an Electabuzz attempting to ambush a distracted Infernape 243 639.
- Azurill — Newly hatched teammate whom he accidentally startles after being knocked indoors by Garchomp. He retreats outside when Ye Qing asks him to leave the frightened infant alone 454.
- Latios — Repeatedly subjects the team to harsh sparring, contributing substantially to Infernape’s ability to form independent combat strategies 794.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Jinxi Forest Survival
Chimchar defeats a level 6 Rattata during the group’s expedition, then helps bring down Fearow alongside the other Pokémon. After Ye Qing and Su Yiqin become stranded, he fights a level 12 Ekans despite being frightened by Intimidate and nearly suffocated by Bind. His Fury Swipes saves Swablu, and he later slows Ye Qing’s fall before losing consciousness himself 10 11 12 13 14 16.
Team R Infiltration and Escape
While Ye Qing operates under a stolen Team R identity, Chimchar receives Flame Wheel instruction from Arcanine. He subsequently helps knock out the two guards outside Mewtwo’s room, allowing Ye Qing to release Mewtwo and begin their escape 27 28.
School Competition
Chimchar defeats Sun Zhiliang’s Bulbasaur by burning its vines and preventing it from escaping Ember. Against Zhang Qiang’s Charmander, he combines Fake Out, a Smokescreen explosion, Encore, and Fury Swipes before winning with a Blaze-powered Flame Wheel. The victory secures first place for Class One’s dormitory assignment 38 39 40.
Independent Training and Safari Zone Preparation
Ye Qing develops Counter Shield and allows Chimchar to train outside during classes. After initially making substantial progress, Chimchar takes command of most Pokémon in the Volcanic Zone, receiving massages and their trainers’ food. Wang Yao’s footage exposes him, prompting confinement and intensified training. He reaches level 14 before accompanying Ye Qing to the Safari Zone, with a bottle of Miltank milk promised as a reward for good performance 43 46 47 48 50.
Safari Zone and Evolution into Monferno
Upon entering the Wild Area, Chimchar volunteers to protect Ye Qing. During a Beedrill pursuit, he dodges Psyduck’s Water Gun, causing it to strike the pursuers, then helps defeat the three Beedrill that remain on their trail 52 53.
Their subsequent encounter with a level 19 Vigoroth proves more dangerous. Chimchar counters Yawn with Ember, evades Hammer Arm through Double Team, and lands Fire Punch, but suffers heavy blows while trying to keep Vigoroth away from Ye Qing. Even Quick Guard and another counterattack fail to turn the battle around, forcing Ye Qing to carry him away 53 54.
After Ye Qing trips over Dugtrio, Chimchar’s frustration at his own weakness culminates in evolution. As a level 16 Monferno, he immediately uses Mach Punch and Flame Wheel to send Vigoroth crashing into the grass. The victory relieves Ye Qing’s fears about the damaged egg’s possible effects, but Monferno’s newly cocky behavior creates an immediate disciplinary concern 54.
Infernape Evolution and Expanded Combat Role
Monferno evolves into Infernape during a confrontation with Fearow. His level 35 panel records A+ potential and a much broader arsenal of Fire-, Fighting-, Electric-, and Steel-type techniques 190.
His long-practiced claw techniques remain valuable even after he gains more spectacular attacks. Against Blaziken, he turns to Fury Swipes when both combatants are nearly exhausted. Later, during the Electric-type Gym crisis, he uses Bulk Up against Electrode and charges Hypno to protect the injured Ye Qing 236 253 255.
Kyurem Crisis and Incomplete Bond Transformation
Infernape fights through the conflict surrounding Kyurem, using his favorable typing against Ice-type opponents. As Kyurem approaches, he is entangled in combat with Mamoswine, and Ye Qing orders Focus Punch while Haunter assists 360 363.
The crisis produces an incomplete bond transformation. Already severely injured, Infernape uses a single staff strike to save Ye Qing from Kyurem, also melting the ice that has trapped Haunter. His status panel records level 45, S− potential, and an incomplete bond ability. The effort leaves him near unconsciousness, and Ye Qing supports him while feeding him the Pokéblocks remaining in his backpack 365.
Fighting-type Gym and Bond Training
Infernape’s developed understanding with Ye Qing is evident against Wangchen’s Heracross, when a short instruction prompts him to use a Flamethrower-based Counter Shield against surrounding doubles 371.
At Lion’s Fighting-type Gym, Infernape and Ye Qing face a format that tests them together. Infernape battles Machamp without commands, while Ye Qing faces Lion; setbacks in one fight expose the other partner to corresponding punishment. Infernape independently combines Fake Out, Mach Punch, and Fury Swipes, but Machamp remains a formidable opponent 378 379 384.
Ye Qing subsequently asks Lion to teach them mind-body unity. Over a week of daily practice, the pair move from meditation to aura-based communication in battle. Although Infernape remains level 45 through the broader training period, his overall condition and spirit improve markedly. A later panel records him at level 46 with S potential, Battle Bond, Sacred Fire, and an enhanced Fire Punch 382 383 387.
Safari Zone Return
Ye Qing returns to the Safari Zone with Ye Menghan and searches for the Vigoroth from his earlier visit. Infernape discovers it hiding in a tree and slaps it before it can throw its stone 450.
Now level 47, Infernape easily overwhelms the level 25 Vigoroth, mocking it and venting his lingering anger. He then defeats the surrounding Vigoroth with Mach Punch and Iron Tail, provoking their enraged leader into evolution 451.
Higher-level Battles and Internal Transformation
Infernape reaches level 50, marking a level of strength that opens the possibility of Gym apprenticeship for Ye Qing 496.
In later competition, he fights Charizard with Flare Blitz and Encore, then faces Luo Moyun’s Mega Charizard X in a demanding final. He uses Thunder Punch, Mach Punch, Quick Guard, enhanced Fire Punch, and Close Combat to contend with the opponent’s healing and immense Belly Drum-boosted attack power 522 552 553.
After an incident involving Sacred Fire and the Red Orb, Ye Qing examines him at level 58. His healthy status panel records S potential and states that fusion with both powers has caused earth-shattering internal changes 596.
World-stage Battles and Mature Bond Form
Infernape makes his first World Cup appearance determined to overwhelm his opponents. In subsequent conflicts, he displays a mature Bond Form capable of manifesting lava armor, a flaming cape, and a club dozens of meters long 708 775 982.
He also becomes increasingly effective without detailed commands. Against Blaziken, he counters a speed disadvantage through repeated Bulk Up boosts, then uses Protect and Mach Punch when the opponent commits to Brave Bird. The narrative attributes much of this tactical independence to repeated sparring with Latios 794.
After a month of special training, he reaches level 75 and learns Fire Blast Flame 996.
Against Walker, Ye Qing sends him out rather than the anticipated Gengar. Infernape enters Bond Form to face a level 85 Mega Houndoom. He remains able to fight afterward, and when Walker sends in Blastoise, Ye Qing orders the strongest Fire Punch before its Mega Evolution finishes. Already in Blaze, Infernape manifests a Flaming Giant Ape nearly five meters tall and launches the attack 1023 1024.
